I... was actually moved by that. Good luck Zhou, and those who think like you.
It goes to show that there are people in Chinese leadership who care about the situation. There's the potential for reform and growth.
Lets hope they win before violence and bloodshed settle the issue instead.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books. This has been a long time coming. Not like there hasn't been chain of protests, unrest, and dissentin the populace. Lately the Mongols, Tibetans, and the general masses have not been approving of their leaderships exercise of authority.
Who watches the watchmen?Certainly the slammed down Bersih 2.0 rally in Malaysia is worth mentioning.
I'm a bit surprised that no one posted about the recent election in Thailand. This landslide victory is almost a guarantee of strife sometime down the line. It is clear that in free elections supporters of Thaksin will elect anyone who represents his point of view, while the opposition can't get elected. That opposition, however, is supported by rich businessmen and the royal family, which means they won't just accept defeat, and will probably take to the street by the end of the year, if not the end of the summer.
All of which means that Thailand, once a tourist hotspot and the heart of ASEAN will slip even further away from progress. It's a pity that such a beautiful country with so much opportunity is seeing it squandered by an elite that refuses to change with the times.

That is a very nice article Breaker. I am going to have to read it in more detail.
Who watches the watchmen?" After surviving rape, Hena, 14, was labelled an adulteress and sentenced, by local elders and clerics, to 10o lashes. "She couldn't speak or eat afterwards, and she was bleeding through her nose, ears and mouth," her mother told AFP. She died days later. Since then, at least three young women have reportedly killed themselves after being subjected to similarly brutal — and illegal — public punishment. "
Was she already married? I don't think they can label her as an adulteress if she isn't married yet or have a fiance.
The article didn't mention anything regarding her status. They should take it easy and check first..............and also capture the rapist above all else.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Kinkajou: Of course they like him - peas in a pod and all that. The man's only function is to indulge the paranoid delusions of the elite by telling them that somehow getting rid of the poor people will solve the country's problems, because it'd mean the upper classes wouldn't have to do shit besides throwing free condoms and the Pill to starving peasants - any other solution would mean they'd have to give up their precious pampered lifestyles - no, being loaded isn't enough for them, they have to step on the masses to keep it, because it's more satisfying that way. They're fucking absentee landlords - at least the American upper classes take some interest in building up society, even if they're pretty naive on how to do it and even if it's out of naked self-interest - from what I've seen, the rich back home want to simply suck the substance out of the people and then make out of the country like bandits.

Earlier today, a court in Serang District, West Java sentenced 10 men and two boys to three to six months’ imprisonment for their involvement in the killing of three Ahmadis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_presidential_election,_2014#Results
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indonesian_presidential_election,_2014#Quick_count_results
Two disputed elections, in Indonesia and Afghanistan, in both places the two candidates had claimed victory.
in Afghan the candidate Abdullah Abdullah, half Pashtun half Tajik, won first round with 45%, but apparently lost on second round to pashtun candidate Ashraf Ghani who won with 56% (first round 31%). Abdullah had accused that Ashraf Ghani had Karzai help to commit massive fraud.
in Indonesia the candidate Joko Widodo, (current governor of capital Jakarta and ex-mayor of Solo), won eight polling firms quick count results with 52%-47%, but rival candidate Prabowo, (ex-general accused human rights violation and divorced son-in-law of former dictator Soeharto), have four polling firms claim quick count results victory of 50%-49%.
Both official results still not out (probably 22 July) and both candidates had accuse rival of attempting to fraud the election results.
It did reflect in (net) approval ratings dropping. Other than that the upper middle classes still like him.
