Just remove the custom title, and leave the ridirect for inbounds only. Actual use of that redirect should be removed when found.
That's what I was thinking.
The main objective of this thread has been completed, so we can lock it now.
Nope. Check here, you've got 123 wicks to go. Not even 1% complete.
Wait, we don't close the rename threads until all the wicks have been fixed?
No, we don't. It's how we make sure things are fixed.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickDarn, I was hoping to go to bed tonight with the good feeling that I closed a TRS topic.
I'll fix some of the wicks tomorrow, but most of them come from fanfic and hentai articles, and I wouldn't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole. You'll have to find someone else to fix those.
What the hell? You won't get poisoned by looking at articles on those things.
Edit: lol, this has the side effect of moving examples from the bottom to the top of lists.

Not sure what to do with the example on Alter Ego
I'm not sure either. Well, seeing as it's the game getting facts wrong about sex, (studies have actually proved that you've got about the same risk of getting pregnant using condoms as using the pull out method) umm... I don't know. It seems to fit in the category of actually failing sex ed.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAccording to the chart in in Wikipedia the failure rate is nearly double for withdrawal what it is for condom use, for both "typical use (15% for typical failure rate for a condom versus 27% for withdrawal) and in "perfect" use (condom 2% versus withdrawal 4%).
That means that example is wrong; choosing to go ahead is a dumb move.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It's out of date then. They just published a new study on it, and those weren't the statistics. It's effectively 17% condoms, 18% withdrawl. Perfect use isn't likely for either. The study.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHmm. The table Wikipedia has is from 2007. The one you linked is from 2008. I'd say pull the example as disputed. I want to read that paper carefully.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Do keep in mind the game was published in 1986.
It had just occurred to me to ask how old the game was. If it's that old, they were using best available data at the time, and it's a case of Science Marches On, ("As a result, what seems like Did Not Do The Research in older fiction (in particular Space Does Not Work That Way and You Fail Biology) is actually this: They did do the research; it's just that said research is now outdated.") not the game designers getting it wrong.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Ah, yes, that is a good point. Science Marches On is another trope to keep in mind.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThen we agree, pull the Alter Ego example as Science Marches On rather than Artistic License?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.That works.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOkay, I started going through some of the wicks and I have found that a good number of them are examples of the characters "failing sex ed forever", which would go in the Sexual Ignorance trope I proposed a while back. I'll go ahead and create a YKTTW for that trope, and we might want to wait until it gets launched to correct those wicks.
Edit: Here's the YKTTW.

Note that any example of a character "failing sex ed" specifically by not knowing how babies happen is Miss Conception.
I didn't know about that one. What should we do with examples where the character misunderstands some other apsect of how sex works other than the pregnancy part?
Take them to YKTTW and make a supertrope to Miss Conception.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSo you think there is enough distinction here to make these supertrope and subtope? That's what I was unsure about. I should have been more clear about that.
Absolutely.
Crown Description:
No, we aren't doing any more custom title renames, but we are also not doing any more "You Fail X Forever" names at all. The naming convention for the tropes formerly known as You Fail X Forever is "Artistic License X". That's by admin fiat.
