Manga/Deadman Wonderland

We did it for HSOTD, we can do it for this.

The latest chapters of the manga are giving me a serious Eva vibe, mostly from the Mother Goose system. Well, actually, that's pretty much the only thing that was setting off warning signs in my brain. When told that oh, Ganta's mom was the head of a research facility that started a massive natural disaster...eh...well, now it's only a question of how badly she fucked things up.

I'm not sure how...but I actually guessed that was the case long before it was officially revealed (Ganta's mom being the head of the research part)

What I really don't get is the mechanics behind the Mother Goose...it needs to absorb a specific Branch Of Sin in order to turn itself off?

So, anyone wanna place bets on how this thing's gonna go down? Is Ganta going to kill Shiro, Shiro going to kill Ganta, or something in-between?

I would mention one of the many serious parts of the manga, but I would rather point out Senji's ridiculous look post-shutdown. Is there a Crowning Moment of Funny for this manga yet?

What is up with those albino guards, are they robots or something?

Maybe not robots, but some kind of artificial human? In any case, this is going to be quite a problem...how's Ganta going to get out of this now? All his allies are stuck on the submarine except Senji and...what's Toto's sister's name again? Anyway, both of them are half-dead in any case. Maybe Shiro will save him.

Also, I do find it an interesting coincidence that about a month ago, I watched the first episode of the anime and was reminded of Ganta stating he'd never kill his friends. It's bitterly ironic now.

I like them too, it is a shame that they are dead but at least we got some info on them at last. It is also nice to see Ganta get some backbone.

Incidentally, I forgot - did they explain who's the old man that Hagire took the body of before he switched over to Mockingbird? It doesn't seem like it should be his original body, since I don't think he possessed a Branch of Sin.

(I seem to recall them mentioning it at some point, but I don't remember exactly.)

Y'know, until you mentioned it, it hadn't occurred to me that the old man might not have been his original body.

Though of course, now that you mention it, I realize it makes little sense, timeline-wise, for anything else to be the case.

Well Chapter 52 was worth the wait even if some moments were a little corny.

Butts were liberally kicked and there is a further secret to Shiro that Ganta now knows but we don't so things should get interesting

Given the phrasing of the sentence, it seems a She Is Your Sister reveal is likely. But also doesn't entirely make that much sense.

Looks like Ganta's mother used Shiro as a substitute so Ganta won't be used in experiments my knowledge of Japanese is limited so it might not be true.
