Because one is an index, and one is a trope?
Sometimes tropes and indexes overlap a bit, but generally they're kept separate when possible.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Against, one is an index, the other is a trope.
Fight smart, not fair.Ah, I think I've seen several indexes with extensive descriptions about the thing they cover before the index part. What is the specific reason that an index on hitman tropes can't contain the trope description of hitmen?
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Looking at the name Hired Guns made zerky think of things like mercenaries, bodyguards and firearm-toting mooks, despite the OP's assertion that it's about career killers and assassins.
Once she looked at the actual index zerky realised that it wasn't just about career killers and assassins. It was about people hired for their skill with weaponry. As it is, the index includes things like bounty hunters, mercenaries, punch clock villains and generic hired heroic parties, among other things. Career Killer and Hired Guns are not the same things at all, even though there is overlap. A Career Killer is by definition, a Hired Gun, but a Hired Gun is not necessarily a Career Killer.
Okay, fair enough.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Hired Guns is an index of tropes related to hitmen and assassins, with a very short description. Career Killers is a trope about hitmen and assassins, with a good, long description and an image. Why not fuse them?
