OK, two announcements:

One, my summer class is a tad more intensive than my past few classes, so I'm going to have to prioritize studying a bit more. That said, I still intend to complete all my remaining plans and retirement stuff by the end of this summer.

(Also, it has a lab that goes to 9 PM Eastern so don't expect me around Tuesday nights.)

Second is you've probably already seen in-RP, but Eskay offered to let me take over his old PC Alli as an NPC and... I accepted. HOWEVER! I only did this to give her a happy ending Eskay probably wouldn't have given her. So if you see me trying to make her important or God forbid give her a name color please hit me with a frying pan.

tldr I'm only writing Alli to give her a bit more love and a happy ending. And so I can incorporate her into future fic projects, mwahaha

Yeah so, some of you might have heard me make some musings in chat, but after much planning I've decided to finally make things public. So I present to you a project I've wanted to do for a while, A WAAPT Legend: Northern Shadow.

So what the hell is a Northern Shadow anyway?

It involves the story of an [Ainu] Dark Obscuric nicknamed Hotene and her mons taking on a Glitchmon that takes the form of an owl about 800 years before WAAPT proper, 200 years before Conquest, and 200 years after Annoski was sealed away, using artifacts of the lake trio.

Where are you doing it?

How will this effect canon?

It'll be canon since I want to expand WAAPT's lore, but probably won't have direct bearing on any plots due to temporal distance unless people want it to.

Are you leaving the RP because of this?

No, of course not.

You've already told me about that, Tagg, but as a guy who's doing a WAAPT spinoff set in the past himself I approve.

(Also, staying off computer for a couple days because hand is killing me.)

Now that I'm in a writing-y mood again, a few announcement-y things!

I've been debating this for a while, but I'm officially demoting Braden from PC to recurring NPC. I can't stand writing for him as-is, since his arc has absolutely no direction and has absolutely nothing tying him to any other characters'. Maybe if I come up with something I can actually work with I'll bring him back into the spotlight once Zeal's arc's complete, but that'd be a while off, and as of now he's far too shallow to be PC material.

Because of Braden's demotion, Zelner will also become unimportant for now. Although he's tied to the Mottes, his important story functions there have already been served, which leaves his main story role his being a Nega-Counterpart to Braden. If Braden's irrelevant now, so's he.

So, with Lanie out of the picture, that leaves me with 3 PCs at present: Zeal, Savannah, and Lucia.

None of my plans need too much altering with the first two, but because I've found Gui so fun to write for and Lucia's been away, Gui's taken over a few of Lucia's planned roles for the Hoenn arc, and thus made Lucia less tied into things. She's definitely still a key part of some of the mysteries I've established, though, so I need to give her more focus. Next arc, I'll probably introduce Marcus as yet another PC sooner than expected in order to establish more of her ties to things, but for now I should probably attempt to do more HTYD-wise and just focus on establishing more of her basic character. Though, HTYD stuff's kinda stalling in general lately, so I guess that would depend a lot on others. At the very least, I should probably do things with her mons. I don't believe I've introduced a single one yet.

On the topic of mons, after just one or two more things that require Zeal being with only Noel, I'm going to start reintroducing some of Zeal's mons. In their absence I've planned arcs of their own for a lot of them, so it would be appreciated if I could get help developing them in preparation for giving them more focus. Savannah's mons could also use development, and since they're around all the time, that could probably happen whenever.

So, yeah. Hopefully that wasn't too longish. ^^;

THE WAAPT SEARCH

What is it?

A system that lets you record information like author, characters, arc, date, and plot for any posts made in WAAPT (the main thread in addition to canon WAAPT Forum Threads) and search for posts that meet certain criteria. It's still going to have things added to it later, but I doubt there are going to be any big problems with it at the moment.

Why's it asking for a username/password?

Tangent put that in as a security measure, but it'll eventually only ask for those when you're trying to edit information. I can send them to you via PM/IM if you ask.

There aren't many posts showing up in the search...

Yeah, there are quite a few posts without any data. We'll see if we can't get some automation running later, but I'm hoping people will help some by adding data for their own/other's posts. Granted, I could end up being the only one adding info, but I'd appreciate it if others would too.

I hope this doesn't happen, but if more than one person tries editing the same thing at once, it might. Tell me if it does, so we can hopefully get some way of handling it in.

Why's it not letting me edit in a new post?

Sorry about that. With how it works currently, if you try and edit a post whose number doesn't exist in the data, it won't edit it in. You'll need to update the number of posts in the thread first with one of the 'Add posts to thread' links.

Why isn't the text showing in the summaries for posts?

Text isn't really displaying neatly right now and there isn't a search for text yet, so it doesn't do much. We'll see if we can't get that fixed later.

Why is X Thread in/not in the drop-down list?

I tried including all the Canon WAAPT forum threads I could, but I might have forgotten/misclassified one or two. If that's the case, tell me so I can fix it?

What's the 'Commit' Button do?

That's mostly for version control of the post data on my end. You're free to ignore it since Editing automatically saves it, but if you want to press it after an edit, feel free.

Could you add X feature/improve Y thing about the website?

I can try. Just make sure to tell me.

What are some things you're planning on adding yet?

• The number of results given by Search
• Searching across a range of dates
• Something that generates a full list of characters/locations/arcs/plots/whatever else
