Tag 2 just has FMV endings based on who you beat the final boss with. It's not a canon game.

Tag 2 is a good game for gameplay. Not for story or character development, but many endings are funny and/or scary.

Go play Tekken 6's Scenario Campaign instead of Arcade/Story Mode. That's basically the "true plot" of Tekken 6, starring Lars and Alisa (for the most part). Oh yeah and if you pick a character to start, pick Devil Jin, he's the hardest to unlock for Scenario Campaign otherwise.

[up][up] Clearly TTT 2 was a dream match but it still seems to d o more for the non-Mishimas than 6 or 7.

[up] I do not have a PS 3, only a PSTV to play T6 PSP.

Also why is a shitty beat em up the true story mode? I liked Tekken Force but who thought to make that the way to convey the plot?

My guess was that it was less boring compared to having the usual one-on-one fights, given how cinematic Scenario Campaign was.

Well I thought T5 had a great approach for this. Whatever my gripes about the overall plot, the actual storytelling in 5 was pretty great.

Whatever 6 was trying to do clearly did not work. As I noted earlier, nobody fucking liked the Scenario Campaign and now I can see why. (also can see why MK 9's story mode gets a lot more props. There were actual fights there)

And the fact they call this Story Mode really is a joke. I just did Jin's and Devil Jin's SM's and I am more clueless than ever. Who the heck was the person in DJ's ending?! Why did he collapse? WHAT'S GOING ON?!!!

This is my sentiment about everything I've seen in T6's "Story Mode."

So who are the most popular Tekken characters? My interest in this was peaked when I was reading a ton of Tekken stuff on here and I think it was the Tekken YMMV page that said Lili has taken over for Nina ad the series' premier lady/foreign fanservice/whatever. I can't really dispute this - she debuted in that other Tekken 5 I think so I know fuck-all about her but ever since then I've seen people rave about her for whatever reason. I got nothing against her, I just don't know anything.

She was also in SFXT which I figure is a good baseline for determining who the Tekken series' bigest stars are.

Lili and Asuka are both very popular right now. Asuka of course piggybacking on Lili's surprising fame as the latter's rival.

I feel that Xiaoyu, Lars, Alisa, Jin, Kazuya and Heihachi are among the most popular characters right now as well.

Nina, Law, Paul, and Yoshimitsu, the other O Gs, are still pretty popular, but I feel most of the love's from the west and probably not so much Japan considering how little the latter 3 get to do.

Much as a lot of the fandom likes to whine about him, of all the secondary characters, Eddy is up there, as are Lee and Leo.

Gotta say, of the new characters, Leo is pretty much the only one I have any interest in.

Lol she's like the least interesting one to me. The only interesting thing about her is that you don't know whether she's a he or a she at first glance.

I like Josie(minus the crying), Katalina, Shaheen, Zafina, and M-Raven. I wouldn't say all of the older characters are good either, Jack and the animals turned me off from the series back in its early days.

I like Leo. And Jack, always been into Jack.

I don't exactly have my finger on the pulse of the Tekken fanbase, but I feel like as far as hardcore fighting game fans go, Bryan has a bit of a following.

By hardcore fans do you mean the actual competitive crowd?

What's the difference between Master Raven and Raven?

[up] Aside from new moves, which of course can be explained away by the jump from Tekken 6-7 of the "same character". (normal) Raven would probably have gotten the same moves if they didn't "genderswap" him.

So I agree to that answer. :)

I have a habit of jumping to the new characters (or at least someone new) every new iteration of Tekkens after 4...

Tekken 2: Nina
Tekken 3: Nina
Tekken Tag 1: Devil + King
Tekken 4: Nina
Tekken 5: Roger Jr.
Tekken 5 DR: Armor King/Lee
Tekken 6: Bob (tier list)
Tekken 6 BR: Lars
Tekken Tag 2: Lars + Alisa, Baek + Asuka
Tekken 7: Lars
Tekken 7 console: Claudio (subs: Lars, Josie)

Heh I finally finished 7's story mode. Good but rather underwhelming & short, along with the fact only a fraction of the cast appears in it.

Glad for the gallery cause if I work hard I can gain access to all the videos & I won't even need to play the other games to fully understand the overall setting, heheh. tongue

Bryan is a shirtless badass with a crazy streak and awesome laugh. Despite being a somewhat shallow character he's basically oozing coolness. I like him too., but i hate that I can't get him tan and instead turns blue.

Wait, you can't tan Bryan? :o

I'll go check...

You can, however, turn Bryan into Skeletor. Blue skin, purple straps, skull mask.

I don't think there is a Tekken character I really hate. I don't actually care about a lot of them but thinking of one I outright despise for whatever reason is difficult.

I guess the animals are the ones I dislike most.

Anyway, I have TTT 2 now. I'm excited.

Also while I hear Jin is more broken in 4 onward, I prefer his T3 moveset because I knew all his shit back when I played that game religiously. I'm glad Devil Jin seems to incorporate a lot of the moves I remember so fondly, even after all these years.

Tekken Tag 2 is awesome, way better than T6. It helps that I'm winning I guess but even beyond that, I'm addicted. Already had nearly 200 matches. I don't really understand how I unlock things in Ghost Battle but I kept at it and I have a new outfit for Anna. Don't much care for it, probably gonna put her in the Maid uniform, but it's there. I haven't customized anyone else, maybe I was gettin gstuff for them? Or their endings?

I also still feel like this has a more coherent plot than T6 and I understand what is happening to the characters in the endings.

Speaking of T6's story, I'm stumped how they can do anything going forward. They basically pulled a Resident Evil: Extinction here where how do you proceed from the apocalypse? The answer is you don't. Jin destroyed the world, that's it. You can't really do anything with the characters because life is over. They really didn't think ahead about this whole world war thing, did they?

Huh I think my favorite characters ending-wise at least due to playing 7 are Bryan, Miguel & Steve.

One throws a steel girder at a helicopter & the walks away from the explosion like a boss, the other beats the absolute shit outta Jin & then basically pulls a Bane on him & lastly Steve's ending is just great, it really made me like the guy with his interesting background & the reveal of his relations to Nina Williams.

Best endings in the game really & there play-styles are pretty fun too. .

[up][up]Ghost Battle is just a survival mode. You beat increasingly difficult enemies in sequence, and choose from three teams to face after every fight. If one of those team icons is highlighted in gold, that means that you'll get a Treasure Chest for beating the match. The chest will contain Fight Money, a Customisation Item, or an Ending Movie. With Customisation, you can buy everything without needing a chest to get it (Unlike Tekken 7), so getting an item in a chest reduces the work you have to do. There are also some special outfits you can unlock through Fight Lab, such as the Sentai Suits and the Armours.

Also, Tekken 7 revealed the world isn't completely destroyed, it's just... Not looking so great. Still, when your grand plan involves "Start World War III to save the world", stop, think about it for a few seconds, and set any documentation regarding the plan on fire, after kicking yourself a few times for even considering it. At this point, Tekken 8 is going to end with Jin being publicly executed for his actions, no matter what he does, like that planned MGS 4 ending.

Jin watched too much Code Geass and thought that Lelouch bloke was on to something. Maybe it was that blow to the head he got from Heihachi's planned Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship back in Blood Vengeance.

Anyway, Nikkloa, REALLY glad to hear you got TTT 2. What console?

Xbox 360. Everyone I know got it on PS 3 but my PS 3 died and I'm not buying a new one any time soon while I do have a nice, working 360.

I wouldn't mind playing with some people but if my 30 or so losses here and my 50+ losses in T6 are any indication, I'm not that good. I could obviously stand to learn more combos but my biggest flaw is rather obvious. I don't understand blocking. If I can keep the offense going on the enemy, I'm likely to win. But if they start hitting me? I'm just a punching bag. Jun in this game is especially brutal for never letting up once she's gotten a single hit in. I found her way harder than Unknown.

I'm kind of sad it doesn't look like there are special intros like in TTT 1? Remember how in TTT 1 certain characters reacted to each other being on the same team at the start of fights? They also had special lose animations. I haven't seen any of that here.
