And well, damn...

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.

Should we add time travel to the Banned in China page?

I guess we'll see. Some of their decisions are overturned by the politiburo when they feel it goes too far. We can only hope! I can't say any of the tv shows recently with the time travel plots were any good but alas, that's how tv usually is anyway.

What? No actual time traveling? Whatever then. And yes, this sounds like a worthy addition.

Similar to how the US and USSR had the Space Race, it seems that the Time Race is now getting more intense. China's out, but it still is yet to be seen for whether someone else can catch up to those pesky British.

A large part of China's political leadership still lives in the 1950's so it's not as if time travel doesn't occur in China.

I wish I could say that and mean it 'cause then I could pretend that China won't be the majority shareholder of both Europe and the US by the end of my life 20s (I'm 22).

In reality, they're very aware of geopolitics and most other things today, and this is making life difficult for everyone else (and much easier for Chinese people because even if the government's holding them down, it seems that most of them actually have a pretty decent standard of living, and it's improving constantly).

That's going to hurt their governments reputation more than have any other tangible effect. Not that you can hurt it much more.

I do hate that website though, they are so fucking snobby about movies they like.

I for one, enjoyed The Ugly Truth and Hot Tub Time Machine.

I have to ask:

Does this also count as a ban on time travel technology, or just literature?[lol]

Still less stupid than the War on Drugs.

No, actually, slightly more stupid. But only slightly.

And that, kids, is a good example about "why governments are evil".

Who knows, maybe they're trying to invoke Hitler's Time Travel Exemption Act, just in case?

Thumped: for switching the discussion from the topic to a person. Doesn't take many of this kind of thump to bring a suspension. Stay on the topic, not the people in the discussion.

"...are treating the serious history in a frivolous way, which should by no means be encouraged anymore."

friv·o·lous/ˈfrivələs/Adjective
1. Not having any serious purpose or value: "rules to stop frivolous lawsuits".
2. (of a person) Carefree and not serious.

Personally, I'm more worried about the fact that this literally has to do with people making history fun, or at they use that as a cover up reason. Can't help but feel this has more to do with China wanting to present their history to their people in a manner that only they get to decide (then again, I can say that for any nation, but really, because it's "frivolous"?).

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.
