For the same reason it has one in Battlefield Bad Company, it's a support class. The lines are blurred, same reason why Recon isn't a clear-cut sniper in actuality.

What I like about BF Play 4 Free is that it seems much more balanced than BF 2. My friend, who has BFBC 2, says BFP 4 F is as balanced as BC 2.

The problem is that BFBC 2 has a lot less glitches, lags and looks significantly prettier, has tighter controls and isn't an Allegedly Free Game =) But you already knew that, didn't you?

From what I played it seems to be built on the same engine as that of Battlefield Heroes.
Also, I wonder why does the Medic class have an LMG?
