Get the Orange Box. It's Portal, plus Half Life 2, plus Half Life 2 episodes 1 and 2, plus Team Fortress 2. All of the games are really good, and they offer a variety of experiences. Unless your mother has a problem with M-rated shooters (Half Life 2 and its episodes have plenty of zombies, blood, and dark themes, while Team Fotress 2 involves a lot of cartoony and over-the-top gore and the occasional swear word), the Orange Box is one of the best video game packages ever.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.- You can buy it on Steam.
- You can buy it in the Orange Box.
- I'm pretty sure they still sell copies of Portal at, like, Walmart or something.

"I wanted it for my birthday, but Mom said it's not available. Is it true?"
Sounds like your Mom went to a retail outlet. It's only on PC in retail, and they're hard to find.
If you have a 360, you can buy the XBLA version, Portal: Still Alive.
Jonah FalconWell, Mom does have a problem with M-rated shooters (which is why she won't get the game WET for me. But I only really want it for Portal, so she'll let that slide.
Anyway, I'll tell her.
Yep, Steam was supposed to have been your first thought =) As for retail, you can still find it on sale out here, but that's because I live in a backward country and older games don't go out of stock as fast as you'd think they would.
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.
I'd barely qualify Portal as a shooter.. Nobody gets killed, a few robotics are disabled and you don't actually ever shoot at anyone.
I think he was talking about The Orange Box as a whole.
I wanted it for my birthday, but Mom said it's not available. Is it true?
