My opinion of this situation will depend on this question...

When buying the PS 3, was there any contract or any terms of agreements that says the buyer cannot hack the PS 3?

I forgot to mention, Anon already DDOS'd Sony's official site (or at least one of them.)

It depends on how you define "vigilante". I believe some of their acts do count, if I read some things correctly and they really were Anonymous. (I can't remember why I read it, though)

My emphasis is more on the fact that they think Anonymous is an organized group.

For the most part, they're a random mismatch of people who occasionally gather together for raids and the like. It's not like they're an actual vigilante organization.

...I really want to play Vigilante8 right now...

The most they've accomplished is hitting small one to five person targets, no one tangles with large companies except other large companies or groups of equal size, the Anon are a bunch of kids who run their voices through filters, short of bombing Sony buildings they aren't going to accomplish much beyond harassment like raids, which is very easily overcome.

And I feel like Sony's less been an evil corporate entity and more just an incompetent one that's bad at predicting people.
