I have a feeling Troy Baker might be cast for Kotetsu for some reason.

Holy Grail, huh? Cool story, bro.

He's at the top of my list right now actually.

EDIT: Dub cast for our "ladies"grin

Blue Rose: Kari Wahlgren

Dragon Kid: Laura Bailey

Fire Emblem: John Eric Bentley

Dunno who FE's VA is so it should be interesting hearing him but the other two are pretty great.

Viz confirmed that we can expect the first DVD/Blu-ray for the T&B dub to be released at early 2013:

That's nearly a year's worth of wait. I'm not that patient...

For me, that seems oddly short. They still need to dub the episodes and air them, which could take quite a while.

Air? As in they are going to broadcast the dub? I've heard rumors of the possibility ever since the return of Toonami but still I have yet to see a confirmation.

I don't know how normal less-than-uber-popular dubs work, so I could be wrong.

Well, in theory there could be a deal between the guys behind T&B and Toonami for a slot, but I don't really know much about Toonami nor the goings on behind T&B to know if that's actually likely.

Well, Tiger and Bunny is fairly kid-friendly, and is superheroes, so it could be easy to get a slot. Maybe.

The problem could be Fire Emblem though ....

Meh. Not really. He's a bit flamboyant, so what? They let One Piece air, also many other things like it.

The problem I was referring to was how he pretty much openly groped Kotetsu and Antonio in an openly sexual manner, but I haven't really watched One Piece, so I don't really know what they could get past censors these days.

There's something I don't understand. The Homoerotic Subtext. I mean, I feel like they're more like The Not-Love Interest. You know, Frodo and Sam like. Not... well, not actually in love, more like Heterosexual Life-Partners. They certainly aren't as erotic as Kuwabara and Urameshi (though that one is incredibly one-sided).

And? People ship Frodo and Sam as well.

[up][up] It's a seriously intense relationship between two psychically attractive and emotionally broken men finding happiness in each other when they couldn't find it anywhere else. Gee, how can anyone possibly want to ship that?

I never saw anything in the show that proved, to me anyway, that either Tiger or "Bunny" were gay, much less in love. Just friends, and even that took time to really gel. The Ho Yay subtext was situational and added for the fans' sake (and there was plenty of female fanservice too.) Either way I don't care, the show focuses on action and character play (as any good series should) not on naughty stuff of any orientation. I watched it to see how the Japanese would handle an American-style superhero show, and was left quite satisfied by it.

Ho yay doesn't have to just be "LOOK HOT MALE BODY"

The two of them grow as partners, and they obviously have a pretty close friendship by the time the final arc is in swing. Don't call it bromantic if you don't want to, but it's definitely close by the end.

A close male (or female) friendship is NOT the same as a gay subtext. The only subtext in the show (except with Fire Emblem) was casual eg. Tiger falling in Bunny's arms by accident. Sure, maybe they were attracted to each other, but if so they never came out and said it. Again, I'm not opposed to it, just saying I never saw any real proof.

There is no "proof", but your post implies that there is no subtext.

Proof has never been an element of subtext.

Yes it is possible to watch the show without noticing the subtext. I did mention earlier in the thread I thought it was comparatively subtle subtext, but I think I picked a bad comparison.

The writers apparently acknowledged it, and I presume they had a hand in it. Even Word of God saying it's ambiguous implies there's something to speculate on.

Anyway, don't take other peoples' shipping to heart if you don't like it. I mean, I try to tell the Code Geass fans that there's nothing between Lelouch and CC and it would never fly as a ship, but that never works out for me. I also tried to tell everyone over in the Madoka thread that I hadn't actually seen any lesbians in Madoka Magica, but I got told I didn't have a soul. Geez.

Well anyway, apparently I have some unpopular opinions, but those other interpretations are still less interesting to me.

Kari Wahlgren, on Facebook, IMPLIED she would have a role in this. Cue massive fan rejoicing there.
