In my story, there's a race of aliens who all do something evil. However, if they didn't do this evil thing, then, because of the way their biology works, they would cease to be sapient. Further, the government of the race just kills any of them that express moral problems with this action. Is this a justification, a subversion, or a straight use of Always Chaotic Evil?

(FYI, the evil action in question is erasing the minds of humans.)

I was looking for "what am I currently doing", not "what should I do".

It's a justification since it is due to something they themselves regard as necessary to survival. I have a character like this who is a carnivorous monster that can take a human form, yet does many things that we would regard as evil because that's how his brain works and is what he has to do to survive.

Is that what you needed?
