Negima Neo is the other manga though.

How about Anime/Negima? Its not in use, is technically correct, and confusion can be cleared up by using a disclaimer.

Main/Negima should still redirect to Mahou Sensei Negima.

Negima Neo is just the manga continuity that basically continues the anime is it not? Putting the page under the anime namespace for Negima makes it sound more like it's talking about the first anime. If we were actually making a page for the first anime (and we're not) that would be okay, but this is about a separate continuity. Which has a manga. Sort of.

I think thats more confusing, since no one thinks of Negima!? As "Negima Neo: The Anime"

But you can't make a namespace with Negima?! since it will take over the redirect, which we don't want to do. So why not use the readily available Negima Neo?

Why not?

Because it's not just an anime. There's a manga continuity. I admit right now that I'm not that familiar with Negima Neo, but isn't it just a manga version of the anime that continues further? If it's had a more comprehensive manga adaptation I don't see why you would stick it into an anime namespace.

Edit: Oh, I should probably ask this first. Is there some reason why we can't just soft split the Negima page since the continuities have so much in common?

Negima Neo is, by all reports, pretty different from Negima!?

And really, the continuities don't have that much in common.

I really don't see why Anime/Negima for Negima!? and Manga/NegimaNeo for Negima Neo are complicated.

I was under the impression that Negima Neo just continued the Negima?! plotline. Does it not do that? I would take your word that they're different without asking except it seems to me that your distinction could be the same as that of the Negima anime and manga deserving different pages.

And I think they do, but the consensus is against it, and I'm not interested in doing it all by myself.

Negima Neo is definitely not a continuation of Negima!?, more than that will have to wait till I get my copies of the manga and can read it. Which will be sometime this month.

I'm working on G~I now, also trying to clear out gratuitous links to manga scans.

Also we need to decide on a consistent spelling for "Cosmo Entelecheia"

Alright, G~I done, for Parentheses at least.

I'm pretty much nuking all links to Mangafox, we shouldn't be linking there on the main wiki anyway, and it makes for lazy example writing.

Also killed some natter, though there's quite a bit more tightening up that can be done as well.

Whats the policy on p-titles? Should we just leave them, or replace them with the standard Wiki Word now that we have the replacement system?

Negima!? was based off of Negima!? Neo.

It's rather obvious when they have the same pactio mechanics, and both follow the same Star Crystal plot, although Negima!? put a lot of space in there unnecessarily.

Negima!? Neo, however, continues the plot and ultimately ends with Negi interrupting Asuna's wedding with Fate, but it still uses the same star crystal thing.

They're both the same at the start and split off at some point.

IMO, they should both be on the same page.

Negima!? was based off of Negima!? Neo.

Objectively wrong.

Now, if you'd said Negima Neo was based on Negima!?, then I'd (conditionally) agree, not having read Negima Neo yet.

If it is as you say, then yes they can share a page, though people are not going to expect to find Negima!? on a Negima Neo page.

In that case, then just name it Negima Spinoffs or something, then have a small folder or two dedicated to the other 2 spinoff series.

Well considering Negima!? came first before Neo even started and in Neo Anya has already joined the class in chapter 10 of 70 and its pretty much the ending of the anime series.

We could easily build a page around Negima!? But Neo is the issue since no one has read it passed chapter 10. (all that was ever scanalated.)

I just need to get the time to write it and watch the anime again to gather tropes.

The other wiki's take on it.

Negima!? neo is a manga spin-off of the series made by Takuya Fujima under the guidance of original creator Ken Akamatsu and the supervision of Studio SHAFT. This is Fujima's first mainstream Negima work as he had previously worked on several Negima dōjin. The series started running on November 2006 in the monthly boys' manga magazine Comic Bon Bon. It had a brief hiatus a year later with the impending closure of Comic Bon Bon's publication, only to return on January 2008 in sister publication Magazine Special, this time with slightly more fanservice than it had during its run in Comic Bom Bom.

This series rewrites the events of the anime, following a completely different route through the Star Crystal storyline, including reordering of events and changes in when and how pactios are formed. It borrows certain elements and character designs from the original manga as well as both anime series.

Like I said, I'll be reading it this month, so that will be taken care of (well, the last volume isn't out yet, but it should still be plenty).

Until then we can continue cleaning up examples in general, and you can go and start a Negima!? page, under whatever name we decide on.

J~L and M~O cleaned up. Lots of natter axed out of those, lots of third bullets and gratuitous example one-upage.

I skimmed over the raw. Hence why I know how it ends.

Also, the scanlation goes to 19, then skips to 29 and stops.

Did P~R, the natter gets worse as you move down the page.

Wait... Was there a circular against scanlation links or something? I see them being edited out left and right...

Am I the only one who doesn't want to do an Archive Trawl whenever I want to see the trope occurrence with my own eyes?

SS, would it kill you to at least leave the chapter number?

We aren't here to link to scanlations, and a ton of the links were still broken anyway from when Mangafox changed their format.

There's no need to link to the scans of the event, we don't do this for any medium but manga, since its so easily available illegally online.

Uh, yes we do. We post links to Youtube clips of movies (Edit: and video games, TV series, etc.) all the time, not to mention the countless webcomics (Edit: And links to Superdickery and Scans_Daily)

And like I said, chapter number. Please at least let people know when something happens in case they want to see it. Archive Trawling 5000+ pages*

is not as fun as it may sound to you.

Also, the "no need" would explain not bothering to do it, but doesn't excuse removing the work of people who bothered.

I do agree that chapter numbers would be nice. Few people have memorized the 300+ chapter manga. (I have but...)

All those examples (withe the arguable exception of Youtube) aren't blatant copyright violations.

I'll see what I can do.

Technically they are if the clip is over 30 seconds if I recall correctly. Doubly so if there's background music.

Copyright law is a strange beast.
