Actually I got directed to The Clone Wars series because I heard Greg Weisman was doing Rebels and I got interested in the series that came before, so even the creative team changes should make things go well.
Alright. Son of Dathomir is the only tie-in comics?
No, but they're the only ones that are canon.
There was also a TCW-branded digest series, but I think those have been over for a while?
Cool, I'll look up the non-canon ones as well (because I really love this show). I'll have to take a second look at my comic book shop again.
Since this is also a Rebels thread, I might as well put this here:
Spoiler alert for Star Wars Rebels!
Our friends at Rebels Report point us to a new French trailer for Disney's new series Star Wars Rebels. The covertly recorded trailer declares an October premiere for the series — although that could be in France — and includes a clip confirming the appearance of a famous Jedi Master.
That's right. At 0:08 in the video, Obi-Wan Kenobi appears...via hologram. The clip shows Ezra's eyes widening as he watches the holographic recording in a dark room.
TFN and Making Star Wars recently reported on Obi-Wan's Rebels cameo, with MSW saying that he would appear holographically and our source confirming that James Arnold Taylor voiced him.
Check out the French trailer below. For those who can't tell what Obi-Wan says in the recording, it's "Que la force soit avec toi," the French version of "May the Force be with you."
You can find the article here: http://www.theforce.net/story/front/Leaked_French_Star_Wars_Rebels_Trailer_Shows_Ezra_Meeting_A_Familiar_Face_158661.asp
Here's the video in case you're interested.

Sony fan here. And Agent Kallus has his own character video. And the rumors about him being voiced by David Oyelowo turned out to be true.
Really getting an Imperial Agent vibe from this guy.

Which makes sense, since he's an Imperial Agent.
EDIT: And the entire character becomes disappointing when you see that he's drawn as a Chiss on one of the model sheets, but they settled on human.

I'm a little disappointed that they settled on making him human too, but that shouldn't ruin his overall character. Perhaps they're planning on bringing Thrawn in later. Or maybe they want to keep the image of the Empire being a mostly racist institution.
And/or maybe Dave's just trolling us (wouldn't be that surprising considering what series he worked on before TCW and the habits of that show's writers).
Okay, maybe it doesn't make his entire character disappointing, but it'll make me think "man, you could have been Thrawn'' for a while. :P
Thrawn would never grow those muttonchops. Unless he was trying to get the Rebels to underestimate him.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatEveryone grows stupid facial hair in their 20s. :P
Plus, he's an aspiring Imperial officer. Everyone knows that the only Imperials in the Empire allowed to have impeccable good threatening looks besides Vader and Palpatine require special permission or are force choked for their insolence.
Which I'm sure he would, given that he was literally described as the model Imperial soldier.
True, but I was under the impression that you must be quite respected by the top dogs in order to get fashion permission. I mean, you want the sight of Vader to strike way more fear in the hearts of enemies than the sight of an imperial officer. They would be careful to let anyone approach even a tenth of that level of evil fashion.
Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir 3 reveals that Darth Maul is Talzin's son which of course means Savage and Feral Opress are her sons too.
Raise your hands if you predicted this revelation before reading the third issue, because I certainly did.
BTW saw this was posted recently. Funnily enough, I actually know the main designer of Chopper fairly well.
Here's the video for The Inquisitor.

And the rumors turn out to be true once again.
And Bail Organa's going to be in this series, as well as a Devaronian crime lord named Vizago. I wonder if the latter is getting his own character video (hopefully with his voice actor not being spoiled by rumors).

Wonder if Jimmy Smits is going to voice Bail Organa once again.
So he's more of a Dark Jedi instead of a Sith?
I hope so. One of The Clone Wars' few disappointments is that Phil Lamarr really doesn't sound anything like Jimmy Smits.
I would classify him as a Dark Side Adept.
Wow, I forgot Jimmy Smits was ever in Star Wars. Last time I saw him he was in Dexter.
I think even Jimmy Smits forgot he was in Star Wars.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great
Son of Dathomir Issue 2 was definitely more exciting than the first one. The battles were pretty epic and the fact that they're building up this big confrontation is very interesting to see. I do have one question though: Maul says he followed Talzin's orders to create the Shadow Collective - just how did Maul receive these orders? Did Talzin's revival implant these orders in his brain, or was Maul swayed to Talzin's side much longer ago?
