Also known as "thisisreallyhardtospellandsay."

Is anyone else having trouble doing combos? It annoys me how I can't just click as fast as possible.

No, I never had any trouble after I realized I could do them (which was quite a ways into the game, I probably should have looked at the tutorial...)

I heard there's cheats around but I don't know where they are. Not sure if there's an auto-combo cheat. You probably wouldn't have to use that if your stats were maxed anyway though.

I am annoyed by the nature of most of the sex scenes. A few are amusing.

When you say you're having trouble with the combos, do you mean they require you to click really, really fast and all the characters move about the battlefield at superspeed? If so, that's not something that's supposed to happen. If that's the problem I can help you with that.

Also yay for other people actually playing Utawarerumono. It's awesome and no one ever talks about the thing.

I wonder why they changed Benawi's weapon in the anime. I guess I do like his halberd more there though.

I also wish he was a better unit than Oboro is, but eh. Does anyone else find it weird how everyone tends to not have much armor beyond their shoulders/upper arms?

Also can anyone spot Benawi in this picture?

I think I actually used Kudou or whatever instead of either Benawi or Oboro endgame. Karura and Touka always seem to end up doing all the work.

Anyway Finessing if you are having to try clicking as fast as possible to get the combo off my guess is that you're running 32 bit color instead of 16, which you'll need to switch to have the game run at normal speed.

I think Finessing means that you have to actually time it correctly instead of just spam-clicking.

Is Eruruw worth using in hard mode 3? Also, does anyone know if there is a specific way to distribute stats that give the best results?

I use Eruruw, personally. Just means that you have a couple of units that utterly flatten everyone. As for stat distribution... I actually just max their techs and attack. I honestly don't see much point to defense.

Do you guys prefer the anime or the visual novel's storytelling?

I prefer the anime for everything (not including what wasn't in the anime) before the rabbit EVAs show up.

Yeah that.

I haven't finished the game yet so I don't know which one I prefer.

If you suck at combos just put all your points into ATK for all of your characters with the exception of Hakuoro, since he needs to be protected most of the time, the enemies love to target him, and the higher his stats are the higher the final boss' ones will be, with the exception of Tech so it's better to focus on his defense for a while, not a great idea to make that too high either though, reasons being explained in the spoiler. ("Too high" = 70 to 99 for DEF, and 60+ for ATK, at least in the case where you dump all the points in ATK for every other character.) Touka will become much worse as a character if you don't use her combos though, so you can leave her out of most battles.

Also I just realized that those red slime things are what Kuuya's people worship...ew.

Ewww, seriously?

And I heard that the last hit when your tech is maxed gives this real strong attack though. Should I not bother using it if i'm not good at combos anyway?

Unlocking techs gives you more attacks per round and gives you practice with combos. Unless you have that super fast speed glitch you can learn how to do it.

And yes, when you've unlocked all the techs for a character, when their whatever bar is full you unleash a powerful elemental attack that hits for several hundred damage. Whenever I play I tend not to bother with defense and just have max techs and attack. You can basically oneshot Av Kamiw.

And the red slimes aren't what they worship. They worship Diy.

Where did you read that they worship Diy?

Right when the red slimes appear, Urtoriy says that that is the fate of the...whatever the thing Kuuya's people worship is called. What the red slimes were before were the scientists who dissected Mikoto, so.

I have no idea how the person with the different voice gave dark half Witsarunemitea Diy's body though.

It annoys me how that combo bar isn't refilled each battle. Also does anyone know why Fraps doesn't work on this game? (It isn't working for me, anyway.)

Does anyone else find it kind of stupid how with the less armor Av Kamiw have in the anime, people don't even think about trying to hit the seemingly softer parts? I mean in-game it's much less obvious since there's only one specific area you can really damage unless you're godzilla Hakuoro or Diy. Also I find it weird how people fall out of the Av Kamiw when they are defeated in the anime.

I wonder if the creators ever explained where the hell those stationary tiger flamethrowers came from.

Because I am referring to Diy as the Rage side of Wiserintmersasjes screw that name. Anyway, they specifically shun Wisinarmetiea and worship his opposite. In this case, Diy. We don't really have a better name than that to refer to him by. In return for that, Diy works with them unlike how he treats most, making one of those deals with ... old wingeared guy whose name I cannot recall at the moment. That's why they have the Av Kamiw.

Kuuya herself said something else, though I suppose it doesn't mean Urtoriy or Kuuya are right.

Kuuya doesn't know what's going on. I mean, she falls in love with the god she claims to hate. I don't remember Urtoriy saying anything on the issue, really, except that Wisinarmetiesaifsjstoffle is dual natured, both cruel and kind, giving and taking.

It was right before the red slime battle, i'd make a video but I don't know how to record the game screen.

Oh wait, I can just take a screenshot.

Don't have a save anywhere near the first Kuuya event though.

Karura says "Oh, these things?" right after Eruruw says that, which is why Urtoriy's sentence is said like that.

Regardless, I doubt Kuuya even knows those things are there whereas her people apparently have the patronage of Diy. Even if only oldearguy knows who he really is, I think the people worship him instead.

Well, what Kuuya explains does fit Hakuoro's memories...in a way...the scientists are the ones who created them, though they were created from Iceman himself. And then after Iceman ran away to live with Mikoto, the scientists appeared in either the Av Kamiw or some earlier model of it (or something that really just looks ridiculously similar) to capture Iceman. Then Iceman got pissed when he woke up and as Witsarunemitea he turned them into undying red slimes.

I don't think Diy would actually care about being worshiped or not, I suppose Kuuya's people don't think of their god as what it really is though. Diy certainly is much closer to being a god for her people, but isn't the one worshiped.

The way I remember her telling the story fits the conflict between Hakuoro and his rage. And no, he wouldn't care about being worshiped any more than Hakuoro would. Diy is simply who they turned to instead of him. Only the winged people really have an idea of what's going on and it seems like they don't tell people that. Probably only the upper clergy types really know.

The scientists wouldn't be preserved in history, but Diy would be. Diy and Hakuoro had brutal conflicts occasionally and the world would know about them. And Diy would obviously be opposing Hakuoro here. Most people think of Hakuoro as being the complete Witsysplitsyguy, so if they define themselves as worshiping the opposite of what everyone else does...

I started playing. How come I can't get past the first level of training?

That's a good question. What difficulty are you playing on? If you're playing on something like hard 3 the early levels are really difficult.

LedWalrus Since: Jun, 2009

That's not what I meant. I completed the first training level but it didn't unlock any others.

Wait, I think I know what you're talking about. Are you playing the PS 2 version or something? From the very, very little I remember about that more training levels only unlock as you progress through the story.
