It's April Fool's Day, so I am not certain about the credibility of that report (not even a peep of that on Wikipedia).

Impulse is Stardock's Digital Distribution Service for games. I don't know much else about it, but it's rather popular (though maybe not quite as popular as Steam).

More Gal Civ than Sins, and Steam is so much more popular that Impulse and Direct 2 Drive compete about who the second most popular digital distribution service is.

That said, I am so glad that the only thing I have via Impulse is Gal Civ, and look forward to pointedly ignoring the service, rather than doing so out of a preference for Steam.
