Xenoblade Chronicles

Not very.

This really hasn't seemed like a viable speed-run-able sorta game. It's way long and has a lot of exploration elements.

RP Gs in general aren't well suited for speedrunning unless they're action RP Gs, even if you skip all the story.

I think they're suitable if there's some crazy skips.

Like Super Mario RPG.

Or that skip in Paper Mario TTYD that has the amusing side-effect of Flavio permanently joining your party and photobombing every cutscene.

Rewatching the opening cutscene, I get the vague impression something is off. I finally realize that I'm not used to seeing Dunban holding a sword with his right hand...

that scene is so much more off in new game plus where he's not holding the monado and he's only using his left hand because his right is already crippled even though he isnt holding the monado and this is before the monado crippled him.

and then theres the whole mumkhar missing all of his vital organs and sporting a neat little techno-spine thing

Wow. As if Dunban wasn't badass enough already, it turns out that he learned how to swordfight to the point that he's one of the highest DPS in the party... with his off hand.

So yeah, all this making me think I'll just be enjoying any extra runs as entirely new games- The little things like that would probably add up all too fast for me.

So I was fighting a random mechon and it dropped the advanced Air Slash arts manual.

What's your personal least favourite Unique Monster in the whole game? (Not counting the Superbosses as they will likely be always top)

That one horse on the cliffs Lightspeed Sonid on Anu Shore in Eryth Sea that has Spike and is 3ish levels higher than your party average.

Firework Geldesla in Tephra Cave. Daze Spike.

Any and all that have a spike. I have particularly bad memories of Wise Gremory in Agniratha, who not only has a nasty Spike but is also likely to match you in level if not outright outlevel you by the time you get to that area.

Least favorite...

Magnificent Digalus and Firework Geldesia are up there thanks to their spike effects, as is Wandering Amon for having such a high damage spike, but my least favorite is probably Shimmering Forte simply because it's so hard to get him to appear AND he's required for a quest.

Oh, wait, derp. My least favorite is easily Mischievous Naberius. At least Magestic Mordred is easy to attack from the ledge.

Unique Mechon tend to be pretty nasty if they're anything beyond the "android" model.

Edit: Confirmation of Australian release. $26 AUD with a saving of $13 if you buy Xenoblade Chronicles X.

They actually released it on the eShop when there's the version for the N3DS? Interesting. Now if only America would get it.

It's pretty much to build up more hype for Xenoblade Chronicles X, since it's at Gamescom in Germany. More than likely NA will get it tomorrow, but I'm not betting on it.
