Nothing in the hospital is a hallucination. Everything Big Boss experiences actually, physically, happens.

Volgin stepping through the flames? That's him, walking through fire, burning himself to death in the process. You think you saw him die in Snake Eater? Did you see a fucking corpse? No, you didn't.

The Boss on fire and possibly later riding a flying, flaming horse? The Sorrow, The Boss and The Fury decided that if Jack wants to take the decision use pacifism to prevent Nuclear Armageddon as a personal betrayal, if he wants fire, then they will show him fire.

The giant, flying, flaming whale? Skullface took a giant fucking whale, filled its lungs with helium, covered it in oil and struck a match, set it on a catapult, and sent that motherfucker flying to Princess Mary's Hospital in Cyprus.

Why? Because fuck rationality; Kojima is God, that's why!

It'd be a lot of work, but I really wish there like a gameshow type bit during the quiz at the end of Deja Vu.

Big Boss on a little contestant stand, Liquid/Kaz with one of those ye olde Match Game kinda microphones.

I dunno, it'd be fun.

That wouldn't be a bad thing to request/commission an artist for. Not me, though, because what the fuck is anatomy? Or Kaz's hair? Or BB's beard?

On another note, I really fucking wish they'd sell more of these BB T-shirts, because damn, that is pretty (and would probably be the only way that I'd be able to afford getting a copy of that particular drawing).

EDIT: Also on another note, some Russian Facebook thing actually reposted some of my MGS artwork without my permission. I'm moving up in the world! 8D

That is how copyrights work, right? I honestly don't know.

Well, a lot of other artists on Tumblr also had their MGS artwork taken and posted there without their permission, so they've been telling each other how to report the issue to that website so that their artwork can be taken down, but for me, meh—they're not selling my stuff or otherwise trying to monetize it in some way, they're not claiming the drawings as their own (as far as I can tell, since I can't read Russian fuck my Russian family for never teaching me how to), and the watermarks that show my ownership are still on all the ones that they took, so the whole situation's just hilarious from my end. I honestly didn't expect my art to be at that level where people would wanna repost it, permission or not, so especially for this situation, I'm taking it as an odd form of flattery.

But seriously, if they'd been trying to make money off of the days of unpaid work I did for all of those drawings, then you'd be seeing me raising hell wherever I could.

(EDIT: Speaking of my art, I figured out a new placeholder for my icon. Probably my proudest achievement at the moment, ehe… >.>)

I really wish they hadn't put in silly reflex mode and used the old system from MGS 2/3 where guards had to radio in before you'd enter the alert phase.

I know that in some cases, the guards do radio CP announcing that they are going to investigate before an alert begins. I wonder if its still possible to shoot the radios to prevent an alert.

I've seen enough instances where a guard sees you from a distance, and goes to investigate on their own without going into a completely alert status. But again, they were pretty far away, so I haven't seen anyone trying to shoot those radios out, sadly.

They usually just yell so I don't think it would do much.

Does anyone know what happens if you tranquilize Chico before initiating the cutscene or if it's even possible for that matter?

I'd try this myself but I'm not in the mood to fire up the game now. I do know that it's possible to knock out the other prisoners and the cutscene that follows is affected.

So many things I haven't thought about and haven't seen anyone (that I know of) try out.

I would think that this being Kojima, it would at least be considered, but again—I'm not sure.

I seem to remember trying it a while ago and it just doesn't register the hit, but I'm not sure. I'll try it later. The way it alters the scene if you tranq the other prisoners is cool though, and something all of the MGS games do at some point IIRC. Really adds to the sense of immersion.

So guys, how come Japan gets all the cool collector's edition thingies for Metal Gear that never make it over here? Here's the premium package version of Ground Zeroes,◊ and here's the one for Peace Walker which I actually bought.

Japan gets all the neat stuff. Which is why I sent my friend there with a list of things to buy for me.

I have an acquaintance in Germany—the one that I found those PW Drama CDs from in the first place—and I'm not entirely sure how she does it (although she's mentioned that it's a bit of a headache-inducer), but she was able to import both of those packs from Japan.^note Or at least the GZ one, although I'm pretty certain that she got the PW one too, not to mention the Japanese novelization of PW that has loads of really pretty Shinkawa illustrations included in it I follow some real wizards on Tumblr.

But man, outside of our reversible covers, the US was really lacking in new MGS merchandise. Please bring just a little more to the table come TPP, pretty please? Especially really nice Kaz and Ocelot figurines? :3

I just bought my Peace Walker box on eBay. I might get the GZ one as well, if my wallet doesn't burst into flames from all the frivolous purchases I make. It came with the battle suit version of Big Boss, which is actually my least favourite of the three Peace Walker Big Boss figurines you can get, the other two being standard fatigues and the sneaking suit.

The only Kaz figurine they released was one for Peace Walker, which is kinda boring since Kaz doesn't really do much in Peace Walker other than handle things back at Mother Base. For some reason he came with a M4 assault rifle, even though he never fights anyone in the game.

Well, I wouldn't say that's the only thing he really does. It's just offscreen. Because the game needed to keep its T-rating…

Well, he'll be much more important come the main game, and considering that a new character like Quiet is having an action figure made for her ^note I wanted to show the WIP one for BB, but all I could find while digging through my blog was this thing, I expect something good for him too.

Speaking of merchandise I'd kill for, though, they made a freaking watch, this watch lover is very upset about the fact that she can't have this for herself!
