Less angsty Spider-man? Sign me up!
I'm seriously sick of all the Diabolus ex Machina they have to come up with to give Peter hell.
Every time I think of this show, I think of a great man getting his head chopped off and a lesser man's head being put on his body. It's just a big ol' reminder of what was lost. :(
Yeah well shit happens.
This◊ has convinced me that this will be the best Spidey show ever.
Personally, the 4th wall stuff only being in Peter's head makes it that much more jarring. Makes for some serious Mood Whiplash, especially that scene with Fury talking about Uncle Ben. And starting a food fight just to get away? Yeah, that totally hasn't been over done or completely pegs Peter. Again, reserving judgement until it airs, but I'm not liking what I'm seeing so far.
I like the comic jokester peter; ties into the Spec run and has elements of Ben and Rex.
That is why a Deadpool cartoon needs to be made
Also known as Achillesforever6 of Lordkat.com fameI'm still trying to form my opinions based on the clips.
I love Spectacular Spiderman to bits so at least they're doing something really different as a departure from that, but.... I dunno. I kind of like the comic-esque stuff but I prefer having less of that kind of narration; it seems really amateurish and not what I would expect out of Peter Parker. But that could be my Spectacular Spiderman love still talking I didn't think it was that bad, the fight scene with The Trapster still looked pretty awesome but, eh, dunno. I'll watch the whole episode first. I did like it though.
Didn't Spec also have narration?
It wasn't as 4th wall, though.
...was it? It's been a while. Spec Spidey was more of Peter's thought process as events progressed, IIRC.
It has Doom! I am so sold.
Yeah, Spec Spidey sometimes had narration, but it was usually just Peter doing a running commentary on whatever was happening in his thoughts- it wasn't really fourth wall-breaking at all.
And ultimate's are? It's really just a second person narration.

New trailer. Yeah...i'm loving this.
Not sure about his voice though.
The series is really starting to look a lot like Generator Rex to me now. The music sounds very much the same and so does the overall humor and tone. Peter himself seems to act a lot like Rex, but maybe that's just because they both quip a lot.
I was hoping to see the other young heroes in the trailer. I'm surprised they aren't advertising that aspect. I'm beginning to think that the other heroes aren't going to play a very big role, at least in the beginning.
Welp, the first episode was a mess. The first episode used a bit too much telling instead of showing. The way the show told instead of show was at least mildly entertaining. The second episode was much more tolerable, in no small part thanks to Iron Fist, Luk- Powerman, White Tiger, and Nova. Peter Parker is just too sure of himself and a jerk in this. If he were more humble he wouldn't be so off putting. It wasn't until the Marvel Mash-up that I felt that the episode had been worth recording.
I'm getting a Generator Rex meets Teen Titans vibe from this.

Good God, when was the last time Luke Cage was actually called 'Powerman'?
Saw it earlier. it's a lot of fun so far!
I was actually hoping the other heroes wouldn't take too much spot light.
This might just be worth watching. Spidey is one of my favorite superheroes and though I really loved Spectacular Spiderman I'm willing to give it a chance but Spec Spidey seemed... more competent, at about a year of experience.
Still I think I'll enjoy the interactions with the Avengers.
Okay, watched the first episode...
Not horrible but not good either by any stretch of the word. I agree, waaaaaaaay too much tell not enough show. IT's like the show assumes we don't know anything at all about Spidey and honestly, by this point, I find that a bit insulting.
Characterizations on Spidey and his friends are kind of par for the course. MJ's supportive but I can't say more until we see more of her, Harry's rich and popular (I kind of preferred him as Spec's rich nerd but I guess this is closer to his standard characterization) while being in his father's shadow and not measuring up, and Peter is pretty much as he usually is. Though for some reason I'm finding his voice acting grating.
Though props on this being the version of Aunt May I've liked the most out of the Spiderman animated incarnations. We finally get a plausible explanation for why she has no clue what's going on. She's distracting herself from the loss of Ben with a million activities.
Still, this series is going to have a HARD time not getting compared to Spec. Spiderman. The Peter actor seems to be trying to imitate Spec's voice ( that may not actually be the case but that's what I'm picking up) and I feel like Weismann could have done this storyline better easily. However, I am still willing to let it grow. I have a three episode rule with tv shows and if I like the superhero I'm willing to push that to 5. The show's got 4 more to hook me.
I actually like this show so far.
And to those of you who are unsure of it, hopefully it'll improve with time.
This might have been said before, but a lot of these cartoony elements remind me of Teen Titans. I'm glad the silliness seems to be restricted to Peter's imagination. It also reminds me of Generator Rex in overall tone, so I guess that's Man Of Action showing their influence. Still, I believe this will be enjoyable since I alike all the shows mentioned. And of course, it has Iron Fist, so I HAVE TO WATCH IT.
I'm not surprised if Spidey fans are more than a little outraged about this sudden shift after Spec Spidey's cancelation. I wasn't a big fan of that show, but it did seem like the best Spidey adaptation to come out. It just seemed to fit the tone of the comics perfectly. This new series seems for less angsty, plus Peter now has a team. That seems very un-Spider-Man to me. I still think I'll like it though.
