Necro-bumping this — it really does seem to me that "words forced to rhyme that don't really" and "overused rhymes" are two clearly distinct tropes. Plus it's a pretty huge page, so it's not as though there aren't enough examples to split.
Wow, three months already... time passes so fast...
I didn't want to start this work by myself because I'm no native English speaker, so I'm not completely sure when something rhymes in English and when it doesn't.
Fuhrmann, es kostet dir noch dein LebenThey do strike me as two separate tropes.
The funny thing is that I've been meaning to do a YKTTW for Overused Rhymes (particularly fire/desire and air/care that you hear on radio all the time).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I'll make the YKTTW then. Here it is.

Fuhrmann, es kostet dir noch dein LebenBump. I know this page is subjective but I don't see how most of the entries in the "overused rhymes" section are "painful". The reason that they are overused is because they work. I agree with a few of the ones listed there, like "California/warn ya", but the list seems to include every common rhyme in the English language.
I started this trope - and yes, I agree, I support a split of the "pervasive rhymes" section into its own trope, called Overused Rhyme (unless someone can come up with a better name).
Stale thread, clocking.
If it's because the rhyme is just overused, maybe Discredited Rhyme or Cliched Rhyme could also work.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Or Pervasive Rhyme.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Everybody uses them because they're Easy Rhymes.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Easy Cheesy Rhymes? They're so easy, that....

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I originally started this because I found that some rhymes are overused, but not painful. Being no native English-speaker, I wasn't completely sure what counts as painful, but since noone said anything against my list, I guess I was correct.
Should we make a crowner for the new title? Originally I wanted to go with Overused Rhyme.
Of course, there's the question how many examples are needed to make a rhyme overused. Rule of Three?

Fuhrmann, es kostet dir noch dein LebenSo now is it just a matter of waiting for the YKTTW to ready before we do the split, or do we need to discuss this further?
Bloodfall appears to have removed the pervasive rhymes section on 3 Oct and I have no idea where they put it. They appear to be not involved in this conversation or the YKTTW discussion or on the discussion page. So I'm restoring it for now, because it's entirely possible they just deleted the whole thing.
Oops never mind, Bloodfall was just sorting sections apparently. I moved the section back up to the top.
I think there might actually be a third trope here, for when you have a real rhyme but the words chosen seem incredibly forced to make it work.
(eg. in one song by The Megas, the lyrics go "I will fly high above Monsteropolis / and I'll rain terror down on the general populace" All kudos for finding a rhyme for 'Monsteropolis', but that's still awfully forced.)
Bump again. Are we gonna DO anything here?!
Thread bump.

As written, it seems to be about lyrics and words being oddly rearranged or contorted to get a rhyme. Or in some cases, oddly pronounced (that song in Fallout3 is a good example).
Maybe get a sub-section on common forced rhymes.
[snark]If there's no English version of it, then it's an example of No Export for You![/snark]
This is something that Just Bugs Me for quite some time. A lot of the rhymes listed on the page may be overused, but at least to me (no native English speaker), they don't really look like they wouldn't rhyme at all.
So I suggest to split off examples which actually rhyme but are overused, thus creating a different kind of pain, of you want to say so. Let's call it Overused Rhyme.
A Subjective Trope like Painful Rhyme, of course.
A list of examples which would qualify (I think):
- Baby/maybe
- Fingertips/lips/hips
- Fire/desire/higher
- Table/able
- Moon/June/spoon
- Fly/sky/high
- Heaven/seven
- Dance/chance/romance
- Groovy/movie
- Lonely/only
- Good/hood
- Be/Me
- This/Kiss
- Walk/Talk and Walkin/Talkin
- Town/Down
- Drink(ing)/Think(ing)
- Cup/up
