What it says on the tin.

I've just always wondered about the post-post-singularity society we'll probably live be in a few millennium/millions of years/after the end of the universe/after we save it.

I'm guessing mankind and and the beings we made would basically be capital G god in Super Weight.

Any thoughts on this?

You're expecting us to predict life after a couple of singularities? You might want to reread the definition of singularity.

Yes I can get that after reading the post like fifteen times. Sort of. I still feel horribly confused by it even when I fill in the blanks properly.

Inb4 the lock: I predict that we'll create virtual-reality simulations of the "good old days" when life was admittedly more dangerous, but also more exciting. We'll get addicted to them, creating new characters each time our old ones die, and wind up forgetting where we came from. Then, in the simulations, time will progress and technology will advance to the point of a new singularity—so we'll create simulations within the simulations, and simulations within those, inwards and inwards.

In other words, the odds are infinity to one that we're post-singularity and don't know it.

(Not really being serious.)

Yes, it was a joke...

Moving on, the topic is explained in the 1st post. And I'm not talking about lives that we would live, I'm asking what would we do. So, what would YOU do?

[up][up]I think we're not going to be that simple. Why the hell would we make virtual universes when we can make real ones, or visit others that already exist. Think of stuff like that.

Hm, I don't think "you" would really be intact by that point. I would probably hope that there is a nice, untouched environment somewhere, and live out my days there. Hopefully a nice bit of mountains and forest.

Again though, "you" likely won't be intact. People will become more and more intelligent, whilst they become more and more connected. The end result will probably look something like a super-consciousness, although individuality could still exist, at least for a while.

As for what the society as a whole might do, perhaps they would actually want to undo their own progress, and thus they would willingly revert back a few power levels, and become a much lower class society. Maybe 1800's level, but with better medical knowledge. It's doubtful they would do this, but it is still an interesting concept.

Personally, I think that's unlikely. People won't ever want to do unskilled labor, for instance.

@OP, there will be very few recognizably human things left. That's pretty much all I can think of.

Wow, I didn't know that there was someone here who represented the entire human race. So tell me, ambassador, what do you want to do next?

"..."

Oh I see!

Personally, I find certain unskilled labor enjoyable. It can act as a means of reward for people, in the respect that a person works hard, gets some wealth, then sits down and feels proud of their work. I don't ever want to lose that.
