Francisco is awesome. Awesome Ego is a great trope, particularly for someone as unintentionally silly as him.

I quite enjoy him too. I used to think Isabel was fine but kind of boring, until chapter 4 fleshed her out quite a bit.

In film we call that a Dutch Angle, it's mean to convey a sense of unease or otherworldliness.

Which is understandable because He's clearly going down a dark path over a somewhat minor thing.

It's more than just that. The actual borders of the panels are tilted slightly.

I know, I noticed.

That doesn't invalidate a thing I said. Just means that the unease could be actually caused by a supernatural force.

Perhaps the meta is being affected now.

And the contents of the panels are stil tilted in relation to the borders. IT'S DOUBLED UP.

It might just be because he's in that tilted house, guys.

Still, I really hope Isaac doesn't become a villain. I don't think I could take it.

He looks awfully pissed to me when the subject comes up. I kind of suspect someone else made a sacrifice to let him succeed (voluntarily or not), but whatever happened I am 99.9% certain it wasn't Spender overpowering him with superior badassness.

Also remember that he did genuinely manage to beat Forge. Cheap shot or not, he did it.

Isaac. You're messed up. Max made it pretty clear from the start that he didn't like you much. You can't say he was supposed to be your friend.

From the way he's sitting there, it's almost like doorman is his psychiatrist.

I dunno. Max gave him a hard time, but they seemed to have some nice banter going.

And giving a hard time is Max's default state.

that could be possible. But I dunno. Narratively, I don't think the author would give a second character glasses as a tool when there are opportunities for varied items to come up with.

Unless, of course, they're related in some manner.

Thinking about it, the glasses probably aren't related to Zarei's healing trick because there's no thematic connection. Which would mean she hasn't, as far as I can tell, actually done anything that would require a tool, other than carry around the recovering train.
