Anytime we blueshift X Just X as an Adminsistrivia page, it winds up getting used as exactly what you're not supposed to use it as. I think it would be a good idea to simply move the trope to a new page and Cut/Lock X Just X so we can have a blue shifted page.

I'd be happy with a bluelinked redirect.

So we move the article to a new name, turn X Just X into a redirect (while it stays red)? Sounds like a plan.

...Oh, I thought by "blueshift" you meant you wanted to turn it into an All Blue Entry.

Anyways, I like Stratedrake's suggestion.

[up] I'm more confused by you not elaborating with your opinion here.

Out of the above, I would prefer Fan Myopic Entry.

Zero Elaboration isn't a bad thing on it's own, but only if some elaboration would be needed, and the editor incorrectly thought that it should be evident. Title Tropes, personal appearance tropes on character pages, Genres, and some others are already o.k. without elaboration. X Just X is already being misused against them sometimes, this would help to clarify that problem.

How about Examples Should Have Context? I think it's nice to have, right in the name, that writing examples as X Just X is Terrible. There's no way people are going to pothole Examples Should Include Context on an example with no context, right?

Too bad "Never Write 'X Just X', 'Nuff Said', Or 'Full Stop'. Just Write The Show's Name Or Give Full Context." is way too long.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

Finally someone makes a thread about it. I agree that it's one of the special cases which Everything You Wanted To Know About Changing Names doesn't cover but still a blueshift would be more than welcome.

I wonder if it's possible to make it so that using one redirect will leave a red link but other a blue link?

I like Examples Should Have Context. There's nothing that says that we can't pick a couple of these though.

I somewhat prefer the Explain Your Entries title proposed by Shale. Examples Should Have Context is pretty good too though.

Fan Myopic Entry is still the best at explaining the source of the problem.

"Assume that we didin't see the movie" is a lot more useful message to remind them than simply "Don't forget to add text to your edits".

Actually, I think that's a huge source of Word Cruft, that people feel obliged to write something after a title, so it won't get removed for X Just X, but they don't understand the problem, that their edits are obscure and insider-ish, so instead of properly explaining them to newbies, they just say redundant things like "...X is totally an example of this trope, how could we miss it, I mean, really..."

I'm personally inclined to support Examples Should Have Context as the main name, with Fan Myopic Entry as a redirect.

We don't need to change the main name because all we need is a bluelink that we can use for discussion-type pages.

I think that having a few of them to best fit the example that we're commenting on would be the best option here.

I like Just A Name or Just The Name Of The Work - it still describes what the phenomenon itself is (so in TRS we can say "a bunch of examples are Just The Name Of The Work") without being quite so potholeable, and it's IMO a good snowclone of Just A Face And A Caption.

Well, it's getting tired trying to zoom my head towards the computer in a vain hope that the link would turn blue due to shorter wavelengths caused by blueshift.

[up][up] Just A Face And A Caption itself is a pretty bad name that leads to misunderstandings because people want to change everything that shows a face and has a caption. Snowcloning after this, would have similar results.
