Silent Hill: Revelation

x3 I was about to be all miffed about the lack of Robbie as well but then this◊ popped up at my dashboard not two seconds ago, so there, I guess.

Complaints aside, I remain cautiously optimistic, it wouldn't be the first trailer to horribly misrepresent its movie. My favourite bit was the 0.5 seconds of Claudia.

Oh Robbie's in it? Good.

And I second commanderbuttsexual's comment (God bless, what a name); Valtiel should in there somewhere. Not that they've cared about such things as continuity and the actual themes of the source material thus far, but still...

edit: oh wait, it's actually in the bloody trailer; They quite literally put PH in Valtiel's role and got him turning the cogwheels instead -_-"

Why would they have to care about the continuity?

I don't think they should really give a crap about whatever themes the games had or didn't have, really, but I'm curious what you mean by continuity.

I agree that Robbie and Valtiel should be referenced, too. Pretty sure I saw some production stills from the Lakeside Amusement Park that showed a ton of Robbie plushies.

I also recall hearing that Valtiel in this movie is represented by a statue belonging to the Order.

As disturbing as those scenes with Valtiel in the game were, I kind of want to see him dragging Heather around in the movie. D:

That actually makes sense considering PH might actually be Valtiel, or at least is fashioned after him. It's unlikely the producers know that much lore to know that WMG though.

To be fair to that poll there wasn't a whole lot to the trailer - of course people would vote for the fan favorite. I just wish they'd give a plausible reason for him being there this time other than fanservice.

x3 Just how in terms of lore the first film went all Silent Hill: Pick'n Mix and did its own thing. I wasn't saying it was a bad thing or suggesting they start now, really, if it means they'll leave out the om nom nom fetus bit in this one they can do whatever the hell they please, as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, that is the image I saw before. Looking at it again, it's creepier (and less like the original) than I remember.

It was at that point my suspension of disbelief got bent over a bedstead. If it made it into the film I imagine it would be like the bit with the barb-wire buggery in the first one, for me that scene just catapulted right over the top and straight into ludicrousness. Quite an impressive sight initially, though.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I have mixed feelings about the first film, so I get the feeling I'll feel the same way about this one. I sort of detested that they decided to focus on a mother rather than a father in the first one, it comes off as terribly sexist and a bit insulting to someone who was raised by a very affectionate, stay at home father. So I do like seeing some Sean Bean in this film, I always felt his performance in the first one was quite lovely, if ultimately pointless.

Why is Vincent a high school student? And where is Claudia? I guess I can sort of understand the Vincent thing, so maybe Heather isn't alone in the film as much as she is in the game but...eh. I am sort of disappointed if they cut out Claudia.

Why is Vatiel not acceptable enough movie? He's pretty damn terrifying and certainly not the glory hound pyramid head is these days. ALSO NO ROBBIE THE RABBIT? How would you pass up on such great visuals?

The nurses get a pass because they were in the game. I guess for Alessa's sexual repression.

Claudia is in the movie, but she's only in the trailer for a split second. Stuff appears to be flaking off of her for some reason, just like when Silent Hill transitions to the Otherworld in these movies. I wonder what that means! I'd expect her to be the major antagonist, just like in the original game.

As for Valtiel and Robbie, I think they're only referenced in the movie. They don't make actual appearances, but who knows. It might be a different story in the full movie.

Soundtrack preview. The first track is awesome .

Wow. "Vincent Condemned" sounds so awesome and heavy, like the Terminator theme. I look forward to seeing its context within the film.

The second song, "A Place of Lost Souls/Promise" sounds... familiar near the end, but I don't know what song it turns into there.

I hope that I like this one at least as much as the first one, because this is the only thing I'll be doing to celebrate Halloween this year.

New TV spot with new footage. Still skeptical, the dialogue being the main cause of my apprehension.

The trailer seems to make it clear that Heather is telling Dark Alessa to "go to hell". They must have some sort of confrontation at the amusement park. I wonder why?

These trailers haven't made the plot very easy to piece together. It seems more like a sequel to the movie than a recreation of SH 3. Which I have no problems with, if they do it well...

That particular Dark Alessa is the one on the carousel, right?
