I've noticed that soaps tend to smell different, but they all taste the same.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else^^ Nope. Not even close.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Well, I have no idea then. I think maybe my brain defaults to "soapy" whenever I taste anything I don't like because once at a dinner I said that the honey tasted "soapy" and peple were looking at me funny.
I haven't joined the cult of coffee so I guess I just won't join the cult of beer, either.

@Cats: eh, if you don't want to drink beer more for me I guess.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~Not if I get to it first...
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.LOL, we'll split it.
Anyhow...I just discovered a new cocktail. Seagram's gin and Vernor's ginger ale. I'm not claiming "new invention" status here or anything (too simple, and too damn tasty), it is just new to me.
However in the lack of a known name I shall call it "diamond juice".
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~I'm not exactly clear on what I like in a beer (if I like anything). Guinness is the easiest beer to appreciate that I can get around here (second to a regional brew half the country away), but when I asked for a beer "almost but not quite as dark as Guinness", the bartender offered me a Newcastle Brown, which I did not enjoy.
"ginger gin"?

Fresh-eyed movie blogGinger ale goes with everything.
Except eggnog.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYou're not calling it that. Not by the hair on my ginny gin gin.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Well, Gin-Gin is a good name. With or without the Billy Goats Gruff.
Hey, I'll call my drink what I want to call it thank you very much.
Also I'm surprised this thread isn't seeing more action. I mean, it is for responsible drinkers and I figured it'd be full of slightly irresponsible actions. Come on CO Bbies, we know how to get down.
Anyhow, I'm getting blasted on Ginger and Rye: in this case, Vernor's ginger ale and Jim Beam Rye Whiskey. I recommend Vernor's as a good cocktail mixer.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~Well, guess who got raspberry lambic beer for Christmas? ^_^ No: not sharing. Mine!
So I was finally somewhere with Newcastle Brown Ale. Figures that it would be one of the few situations where I wouldn't be able to bullshit my way around being underage, otherwise I would have loved to try it.
Newcastle is passable, but not great, and the biggest problem I have with it is it comes in clear bottles so easily gets a bit skunky if it gets too much light. If it's on tap, however, you don't have that problem.
Got me some Tanqueray Rangpur for my gin & tonics for last night. Tasty stuff. It has a nice, reasonably subtle lime flavor to it, which goes well with the rest of the gin botanicals.
A brighter future for a darker age.I think one of the first signs of me feeling a bit of alcohol in my blood is laugh.
I don't know why, but alcohol makes me laugh at every little thing. I just...can't stop laughing.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Curse of the night owl: it was Saturday when I left my desk, it was Saturday when I got in my car, and it may have even been Saturday when I entered the store, but because it was Sunday by the time I was ready to check out, I can't buy the liquor I made the trip to buy.
I mainly buy booze when I want to drink it, and I mainly want to drink late, and on weekends. Can't buy liquor on Sundays here.
Last year, I went out to get snacks to watch my recording of the Super Bowl. I'd forgotten about the law, but when I was checking out, it was about 12:30, so I thought it should be okay. But the clerk said they didn't start selling again until 3.
And the summer I was in Texas, it wasn't even a weekend, but it was 2 in the morning and while they don't forbid sales on Sunday, they do forbid sales between midnight and 8AM every day.
Fresh-eyed movie blogGot some cream sherry. Reminds me a bit of mixing grape jelly into the vanilla yogurt we got because better flavors only come in individual-size cups.
Fresh-eyed movie blogHad a bottle of Newcastle's Cabbie dark ale. Super-tasty for those who like darks. Probably not gonna please those who don't.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenNote to self: I will still have a hangover and sore throat if I drink Bailey's instead of plain whiskey.
Note to Lera: The hangover will probably be worse from sweet stuff like Baileys, or mixed drinks with milk or cream in them. Dairy and alcohol tastes delightful but wreaks six different kinds of havoc on your system. Not to mention the "tastes delightful" makes it very easy to not realize how much you're drinking in the first place.
Not about booze itself, but I've just added to my "appropriate glassware" selection. One of my absolute favorite-est craft stores in closing down mid march, so they're selling off everything, including all the glasses they displayed the expensive beads in. I paid a quarter apiece for two small brandy snifters and two lovely little cordial stems. There are some champagne flutes I have my sights on, as well, but they still have beads in them. So I will bide my time and lurk... I could just buy the beads, but — faceted Russian amber at 2.00 a bead? Whew, too rich for my blood right now.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Urgh: I learned early on... don't mix cream and alcohol. It does really horrible things to me. >_< Even cooked, boozy, creamy pasta sauces? Not good. <_<

Is it weird that I'm known as Mr. Martini, but absolutely can't stand gin and tonic? Or gin and club soda? Or gin and sprite?
Well I was kind of wondering if hops were in any way related to cilantro, because that tastes like soap to me too. I do like a good amount of bitter foods so I wouldn't think that it's just because beer is bitter. All beers have a pretty strong soapy taste to me, making them pretty much undrinkable.
