Excellent to hear.
Awesome.
Apparently, the earthquake was actually a lot less deadly than expected.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyJapan has good building codes and lots of experience with earthquakes. 1000+ dead is a lot, but considering it was a 8.9 it could've been much worse.
It's good to hear, Spasticgecko. Condolences for all affected, and a sincere best of luck for the recovery effort.

^^ Yeah, an earthquake of that magnitude would basically tear anywhere else to the ground, wouldn't it? There are some pretty crazy pictures, though. Even if it's better than expected, it's still a tragedy. They do seem to be getting things back up and running pretty quickly, so that's good.
It's a good thing that Japan has plans for this sort of thing.
UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR PRÈS DE TOIThat's a spot of light right there.
What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.Thank God the engineers know what they're doing.
Still, I'm glad your friend is okay.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.Seriously. I don't mean to sound callous, but with a quake that big hitting an area as dense as it did, 1000+ is actually surprisingly low. Best wishes to Japan during their recovery.
I'm waiting for word on the resulting tsunami. Friends on the West Coast and all.

Knowing your friend is okay is a great feeling, but having to go through the feeling that they aren't is pretty harrowing...
Above all, always remember to stay positive. That's great, OP!
No idea whether my cousin is safe.
She moved to Japan just a few weeks ago because her parents are part of a mission group that decided to go over there. I freaked out when I heard about the earthquake and me and pretty much all of her friends have been stalking her facebook since we heard about it and just a moment ago she put a status on facebook that she was fine and she didn't get much sleep last night due to the aftershocks, but she and her home and school are fine and now she and her parents are heading out as part of a relief team.
Thank goodness. It's only a shame there were so many people who weren't so lucky.
