Sounds like a cool introspective-y-type story.
Have any ideas as to what would go on in the story aside from lots of introspection? And Contemplating One's Navel?

It's a tentative story concept.
The main character, Xavier, wakes up one day to find there's a hole in the sky. Quite literally.
The crack stretches for miles. It pulses and grows like a fungus and bleeds a dark, inky fluid. Should be the most obvious thing in the world, right?
Wrong. Only Xavier can see it. Everyone else goes about their daily business. Xavier soon comes to the conclusion that they are all fake, illusions.
Then, just as he's about to give up on the life he has left, a yougn woman finds him. She can see it too. It's time to escape the dream.
From here on out, Xavier comes to realize that he is, in fact, a figment of some larger power's imagination. He was scheduled to die along with the other figments inhabiting the doomed dream-world. But he gained awareness, and now must struggle with the impossibility of his own existence while simultaneously trying to prove to his progenitor and himself he really does exist.
So? I know it's vague, but any thoughts would be helpful.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial
