Bayonetta getting in is one thing, but replacing Sonic? One of the most iconic figures in video gaming? Highly unlikely.
Moon◊She wouldn't be replacing him though since she's kind of no longer SEGA-affiliated.
How many times do I have to repeat this: Sega owns Bayonetta. Their logo was still in that trailer for the sequel.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Oh well, I didn't realize that. I figured they published it but didn't exactly own it.
Simmer down, mang. It's not that big a deal.
At any rate, there's a significantly higher chance of an absence of third-party characters altogether, so... meh.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Eh, I can respect Nintendo, but I can't love them. There's no other games quite like Sonic, Space Channel 5, or Jet Set Radio.
If only Sega could get a surge of creativity like the Dreamcast days...
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. That's the thing. The graphics may not hold up as impressive today as back then, but they're very, very fun. Plus they had kickass soundtracks. Greedy Game or Grace and Glory anyone?
It's ironic that Sega's greatest surge of Genre-Busting creativity was during their final years as a console producer.
That's what I call going out with a bang.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Actually, it's not ironic at all. When a company sees their end coming, they usually remove all inhibition and just make a game they really want to make without worry about sales figures or anything like that. Both Disney and Squaresoft did that and I'm pretty sure others have done it too. It seems that taking that option led to the survival of all three companies.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I thought Sega saved itself by stopping making consoles. I know that Square saved itself using that method when making Final Fantasy I, however.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. It's why I love Jet Set Radio. It's like every anti-authority and cool attitude trope from the 90s was crammed into an all around awesome game as a last tribute of the decade. I don't think releasing it in 2000 was an accident.
I believe that it was a combination of the two.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I think Sega also saved itself with the Gamecube ports of Dreamcast games that were put together shortly after they went third-party. It helped the transition into them becoming a full multiplatform developer.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I kind of like SEGA games over Nintendo ones as well. Something about SEGA...sure Ninty's the A student who is a nice guy and you like hanging out with him but SEGA is that student whose grades while inconsistent and sometimes a bit of a prick, is well, cooler and a bit more fun to be around at his best.
And then, there's when Nintendo and Sega work together...
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.We get Olympics crap :/

I always figured that if they ever did a proper Mario/Sonic crossover, it should be an RPG. Not by Bioware, but by Alphadream, so I'd basically expect it to play like a Mario & Luigi game with Sonic in it. You want a plot? Robotnik doing a thing with the Chaos Emeralds, while Bowser is doing a thing with the Power Stars. Mario/Sonic show up to fight Robotnik/Bowser, the emeralds/stars go unstable at the same time, worlds merge together, boom. Sega and Nintendo should totally write me a check.
I've actually put a lot more thought into this than I should, but I don't want to sound like one of those people who go on and on about their game idea that will probably never happen, so. :P

"Great Scott! Send in the Doomsday Squad!"Almost sounds like the plot to that Sonic/Mega Man crossover Archie's been doing.
Incidentally, that's a fun read so far.

Moon◊A Mario/Sonic crossover platformer would have to be a 2D platformer. 3D wouldn't work for a crossover at all.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I dunno. They could make it with two distinct playstyles similar to Generations: 3D stages for Sonic, 2D stages for Mario.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Or 3D for Mario and 2D for Sonic. I dunno, I just think that's a better fit.
Moon◊Or 3D for both.

Bayonetta seems rather unfitting for smash bros considering the kind of character she is but then again so was Snake.
