That video was literally just posted.
And I was literally ninja'd and couldn't tell since that was at the bottom of the last page.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Unleashed's clocking of SPD always reminded me of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, of all things, and how they clocked how much your hits hurt with "XX Billion Damage" to make the player's seem cooler.
That always leads to weird stuff. Like how it puts Sonic as faster than the speed of light in situations where he clearly isn't going that fast.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The LSD being slower than Sonic boosting normally is likely a weird oversight on Sega's part, but it does confirm that Sonic's limit is beyond light.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I remember an old letter from the Archie Sonic comic asked what Sonic's max speed was. They said that normal Sonic capped out at twice the speed of sound and Super Sonic could go as fast as half the speed of light.
I mean you're probably gonna be moving slowly if you're on acid, so that makes sense.
Honestly, the loops didn't have to be automatic...
Sonic Adventure shows that if Sonic can get enough speed, he can run around a loop on his own.
Just have a track that locks you on the loop so you can't accidentally veer off like in Sonic R.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.ehhhhh the loops in the Adventure games are kinda buggy too when they aren't automatic
I agree there's a way to implement them in a way that works, but Sonic Team haven't quite found it yet.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. There are no non-automatic loops in Adventure.
I meant, I tried testing Sonic's momentum on a spinning tube...he could go around it at full speed against the rotation.
It has potential to work.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Somehow that brought me here when I was looking up "shuttle loops in Sonic Adventure."
I think Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes did loops in 3D the best: as long as you continue to hold forward, you'll go around the loop like normal. It gives you the feeling of control because if you try to change direction or press buttons, those will affect what happens. You can't just set down the controller.
That's close to what randomness was getting at...
But not close enough...
It's fine...

but HOW?That reminded me, for all the repeating content in Heroes, the sense of height and vertigo were the craziest they'd ever been up to that point. The frog forest had loops that would descend down murky swamp water, flowers would let you glide above treetops, cannons in many levels shot you through what's basically rail shooter segments at times, and of course Egg Fleet, which downright terrified me as a kid when I first made the beginning jumps.
That one's an Eternal Engine done right, the scale and sheer heights of the place make you believe Eggman's really outdone himself this time and made a weapon that could really do it. When I first beat it with Team Sonic, I felt incredibly proud since it seemed like I'd shut down something on a massive scale.
Amy says it best, "The Egg Carrier's nothing compared to this".
More than sure Knuckles said that quote.
I also loved Egg Fleet. The scale was unreal. I loved how Team Sonic's Goal Ring was destroying one of the fighters and zooming through the air. Although, I loved Final Fortress more for sheer aesthetics.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Amy's the only one who references the Egg Carrier in comparison to Egg Fleet.
Knuckles only ever makes one reference and it's towards Mushroom Hill regarding the mushrooms in Frog Forest.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.He never actually travels at the speed of light, though. It's all the good ol' "using xtreme words to make things cooler" bit. Like how any attack named "supernova" in an RPG doesn't actually blow up the solar system and everyone in it.
Even the light speed dash is just nominal. When he does it he clearly goes at a speed even slower than his top running speed. The name isn't meant to be taken at face value.
As for the reason, it's not an oversight. It's because the character actually travelling at light speed is mechanically unfeasible and difficult to explain in-universe besides. Sonic Team likely never had any intention of ever having Sonic go or be seriously implied to go at the speed of light, given how incongruent it is with the rest of his abilities. It's just a cool way of saying "gotta go fast."

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The description of the Light Speed Dash and Light Speed Attack in Sonic Adventure literally include the words "at the speed of light".
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! That must be in the manual...
Tikal says "Travel across a trail of rings at light speed"...
In any game that's not the boost game-play, Sonic's speed when using the LSD is always way higher than his top speed and he moves fast than the camera can track him.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.whatever to that one youtuber who liked sonic and showcased a bunch of Generations modsand other stuff? That coberama skadooshy guy?
He made a new channel...and...break time.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think he mentioned on his Twitter account that he has depression.
For the moment, his channel is basically dead.
@Known: Actually traveling at the speed of sound is mechanically unfeasible in itself yet we take Sega's word that Sonic can break the sound barrier (and they add visual indicators in certain games anyway).
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.
Sonic can move faster than even that. This video clocks his speed at 1244 and I believe people have gotten higher numbers than even that.
Also,
