(Oh, hi, Ramona, there's a small girl in what looks like a green uniform is sitting at the table.)

She can. Her vocal cords aren't capable of human pronunciation, but she can understand the human language. All Pokémon can - or, at least most of them.

(nods to Louis with a grunt)

-Koata be chilling in the hallway with a tablet-

-beeps and boops can be heard from him-

"... hi."

-Louis freezes in places as the Charizard nods at him-

Oh, sorry to intrude.

You're giving off quite the light. I barely need a flashlight to see around here.

(Michael sees Koata and just leaves him to his tablet-gaming, and looks out the window for a change.)
