Is it another language problem? Ether is the basic component of all life, its excess or deficiency can cause all kinds of complications. This rifle works with cartridges made out of refined ether crystals. And I'm as stumped as you on guy's cat explanation.

I know that, but Sora's getting that there's differences between their worlds and he figures that ethers work differently between the two of their worlds. Probably should've had him note that ether works as a magic restoring item.

(to Sharla) Well, ether works differently in my world. With mine, we can use magic, and ether can restore a slight amount of it.

Ether that restores "magic"... Maybe your world only has the electric variant in pure form? Its effects seem to fit perfectly.
And might I ask what do you mean by "magic"? I assume they are no simple magic tricks right?

Actual magic. And if I had some ether, then I could restore some of the magic energy that I lost casting those. I don't really know how to describe what it looks like, but it's some sort of weird blue cube or something.
