No, Shulk is the name of the guy that, with Reyn's help, found Riki, the one that got transformed.
This is an ether rifle, and I think it might be giving the wrong impression. This is an special kind of rifle made to handle ether cartdridges. Different charges can give all sorts of results. I'm a field medic, so I use it mostly for curative purposes with my team, but it's a good weapon by itself.
Anyway, after working with Riki, I managed to create a countermeasure to whatever weird manipulation they did to him. -Shows cartridges- One round of these and you are completely shielded from it.
