Oh... well practice does make perfect. And it's always good to have a hobby. I certainly wasn't the best at lightsaber forms when I started out. I can't tell you how many times I burned myself on my practice lightsaber when I was starting out.

-even if they are made of obsidian-

Are obsidian swords considered... bad?

-thinks for a moment- They can be... a little brittle.

It's not a recommended material usually. I mean- it's hard to actually get Obsidian for most people. Volcanic Glass and all.

Ah! I see. I'm sorry, this is a subject I have little knowledge of... Obsidian is very rarely used for anything where I come from, besides decoration.

Although... the Carrion Plateau...

-she gets lost in thought momentarily-

...right. Sorry! What we're we talking about? Oh volcanic rock- I mean, I mean, glass! Yes yes, quite beautiful, it's too bad so many combine volcanoes with sith activity. Although I suppose that's the Sith's fault.

Earth, right...

Ah well Sith are people who utilize the Dark Side of the Force to try and take over the galaxy. They oppose the Jedi order and the republic, and well... I suppose you could easily call them not very nice. They use red lightsabers, where as jedi normally use blue, green, purple, or orange ones.

Although... I'm always a little wary around those who use orange ones...

Jedi serve the Republic, the Sith serve the Sith Empire. It's... well it's a rather long story, going back at least 21,000 years, probably more.

-she nods-

Ohhh yes... and to make it even more confusing, there is not only and order called the Sith, but also a species which the Sith order based their teachings off of called the True Sith.

Or, it may even go further back than that, to a race called The Celestials, which are written about only very briefly in Rakatan writings. But that's a whole other story...

Yes, very much so!

Anyway! S-swords? They sure are n-neat...

-she taps her foot awkwardly, she seems embarrassed-

I- It's fine.

Understandable... yeah- Swords are pretty neat. My family tends toward Archaeology- picking up relics and legendary swords. Well- trying to, anyway.

Though we do trace our lineage to a Legendary Smith.

Ah yes, I have to play the part of archaeologist from time to time. I find the weirdest things. Like the time I found a lightsaber attached to some sort of... backpack battery pack.

Which is the hardest thing I've ever said before. Backpack battery pack...

But if hunting down legendary swords is your job, you must have quite the collection! Do you have a favorite?

-shakes his head- No... I mean- my family hasn't found much. I personally- have a Legendary Whetstone. It's- known as the Tyrant Stone, the Whetstone of Tudwal Tudglyd- Welsh King.

It's said that any sword sharpened upon it will always draw blood with it's strikes.

Other than that- my Family only really has a fragment of Joyeuse, sword-wise.

Oh, I know what that is!

The, the whetstone, not the rest of it... But it does sound impressive! I have heard of one legendary sword, supposedly contained upon some giant obsidian diamond shaped planet that roams the galaxy. Or maybe it simply contains the planet?

-she shrugs-

Once you get past the 21,000 year point, history starts getting very fuzzy. Is it allegory? Is it real? Is it just a big practical joke?

The galaxy may never know.

But, what is Joyeuse? It sounds important.

Well- he was basically... sort of a big deal. His Empire- though brief, shaped mainland Europe in the early days.

The Franks became the French, and part of his Empire became the Holy Roman Empire- a system of 365 different states who elect an Emperor to preside over all of them.

He was the founder of it. The First Holy Roman Emperor.

And that- shaped European politics for Hundreds of years before the Country known as Germany became unified.

Europe... sounds like a planet. But this King, he sounds like he was very powerful. He must have been to form an Empire. Was he a... Magus, like your family?
