It seems that there's a bit of confusion in this particular trope, and that examples where the girl is expecting entirely consensual sex (including a few cases where the girl is overtly propositioning the guy) are included where the girl is expecting to be raped. About half of the anime examples seem to fall at the very least into a grey area, where the girl has either implicitly or explicitly stated that she is sexually interested in the male character before the incident in question.

As such, it may be helpful to split it up between "Aren't You Going To Ravish Me?", which remains explicitly about the girl looking forward to a non-consensual act and "Aren't We Going To Have Sex?" where it's clear from the beginning that the girl is consenting and capable of giving consent.

It's not about looking forward to being raped. That isn't funny, and doesn't make any sense.

It's anger at being ignored and found desirable- when in real life she would be grateful.

That's why it's funny.

I went ahead and cleaned up the example list. The misuse was pretty darn prevalent, so I'd suggest a wick check, too.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.

Coca, you deleted several good examples.

I'd say about 1/5 to 1/4 were straight examples of the trope.

Another 1/3 were variations of the trope.

The girl is in a situation where she could be "ravished" and then the threat doesn't materialize and instead of being indignant she becomes flirtatious and/or attempting to get the "ravishing" to start. Essentially revealing that she wanted to be ravished (but be able to pretend she didn't- unfortunate implications indeed).

A few more were along the lines of invitations concealed by this trope. For example, Asuka accusing Shinji of harboring desires to ravish her, and then declaring her door "the wall of Jericho".

Perhaps these should be split off into a separate trope. "No" Means "Yes"? Although I think the concept is clearly related to the current trope since they are all about incorrect responses to the threat of rape, and can be considered subversions and/or playing with the trope.

Of course, the rest of the deletions were correct.

Aversions, the girl fears rape and is relieved that she isn't attacked, should not be listed.

As described, the Neon Genesis Evangelion example doesn't fit the trope (and doesn't sound like what you're describing). If there is something in the media that fits the trope, then that's what should have been described in the example. I'm not psychic and can only go with what is in the text of the example.

Indigent or offended is part of the trope as described. Flirtatious or attempting to "get the ravishing to start" isn't. Those examples that have flirtatiousness instead of indignation don't fit the current trope and aren't good examples unless we broaden the trope.

I went back over the deletions and I honestly don't see the straight examples you were speaking of.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I can say with some certainty that the misuse here is entirely because of the trope name. "Aren't you going to ravish me?" can be read many ways: A girl is expecting to be ravished, a girl secretly wants to be ravished, a girl is surprised she wasn't ravished, a girl is offended she wasn't ravished, etc. All of these are possible readings of the trope name and all are ways the trope gets used.

So a rename is in order then? Something to derail the thought that the would-be victim is okay with the concept of being ravished? Can we make a short title that says "I'm angry that you didn't ravish me, although I wouldn't want you to, anyway"?

First of all, the picture would need to be changed, as that goes directly against this concept.

Just to get the rename ball rolling, I'm going to throw out: "Untrophy Damsel". It doesn't imply the "angry" part, but it might get enough of the point across.

There's no need for a rename

...can we have a very clear definition? I thought I knew what it was, but now that's being contradicted, so, just to be clear...?

"A character, (almost always female) is ignored or passed over in a situation that would seem to suggest that she was about to become the target of some kind of sexual assault. She becomes angry, indignant, or insulted that she is seemingly not attractive enough to be the target of such actions."

That's the core of the trope.

Alright, good, that was what I was expecting.

Well... on the one hand, it's a dialogue title. It also, apparently, is being misused? On the other hand, it is a correct title, i.e. that could be a reaction if a character was in this situation.

I don't really have an alternate title suggestion off-hand... Rape Fake Out? Nah, that sounds dumb, and it's only half the trope...

I'm not sure I see much misuse, based on the previous posts.
