He's arguing that Nintendo would censor the game because their desire for a squeaky clean image is so great.
I'm arguing that there's no point to releasing a censored Conker game, because it would be a definite sales flop. It's the equivalent to Bomberman: Act Zero.
And yes, there are more kinds of games than M games, but there's no way in hell a non-M Conker game is going to sell.
Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.You're assuming that parents would know what Conkers Bad Fur Day is. All they see is a cute squirrel, thats it, the past is irrelevant.
You underestimate the scare campaigns of mass media. People tend to learn these things. Will they believe it? Probably not, but it's a better idea to just avoid the issue altogether by making it obvious the game is not for kids.
Even if parents didn't know, they would have no established audience and no real hope of a peripheral audience due to stigma. Kids won't buy Conker over someone like Mario or even a new character. There's no financial reason to buy an old IP if you could get the same result by releasing a new one for a cheaper cost, or by reusing one of your bloated ones (Mario/Pokemon) for the name value.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Scardall, I think your onto something here. Anyways let me lay down what I gotta say alright? Now most of the time there are things that people will approve to an others extend. However. M rated video games? I can approve of that in some cases(not agaisnt them, although most of them are being too immature while a few others manage to make it worth playing for). Conker was reworked so that it could be a middle finger to the "Cutesy" bullshit that most people hate being shoved down in everyone's throats.
I still won't forget that I ran into a gamestop to find a very pissed off mother with a daughter returning American Mcgee's Alice. She was completely dumb enough to believe that this Alice was from Disney, when in real life it aint for kids. Nintendo has approved of M rated video games, although I only know a few things on what gets censored throughout the video game industry. Other than Duke Nukem 64 getting censored, Man Hunt 2 got censored. An overhaul censorship on that part. Besides. Regardless if a new conker game is made. People do not want a cute and cuddly conker. They want the smoking Bad Ass conker.

There were no scare campaigns for Conker back on the N64 (a game that probably deserved it more than any scare campaign game ever), though this may have more to do with the game coming out so late in the 64's life rather than media negligence.
As for what will happen to Conker, I'd like to think Microsoft will keep him after phasing out Rare, though I think he'll be farmed out to other developers rather than MGS doing anything with the IP.
R.I.P. Rare. I wonder what the Kinect's fate is now.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DIf I remember right, didn't playboy advertise conker?
Well, they were paid to.
Regarding on the playboy conker ad, I knew a guy who had it. But however he has lost it.
Gruntilda goes meta in Nuts & Bolts:
That text is so fast in-game that this is the first time I got to finish.
I liked the original Banjo design.
I like it better than the rendered artwork for Nuts n Bolts, but I think in-game Banjo from Nuts was cuter. That said, I think future games should have his original design from the N64/Live Arcade version but with upgraded, next-genitized graphics.
So apparently they're gearing up for a sequel to Kinect Adventures.
Well, what did you honestly expect them to do?
In any case, the only direction Rare's going is down in the hole. Way down in the hole.
That's exactly what I was expecting, really, but I was hoping for Banjo-Fourie.
Why I am afraid of fences.^^ Is that a threat?
Semi-bump! So will this thread get updates when we get updates about Rare's work or should this thread just die?
This seems appropriate for this thread

Dont you guys heard of the old saying "Dont like it dont look at it?". Besides. There are more types of video games besides M rated video games. Besides there's no fucking reason to pull a Moral Guardians stunt just because Nintendo is publishing M rated video games.
