All we need is a good shot of some small trees with another character for scale.

Here's a few screencaps to get us started: [1] [2] [3] [4]

Pretty much any of the images on the Animal Crossing wiki page for Trees would work. Perhaps this one?

Probably this of Runescape trees fit just fine.

Another thing we could try is a comparison shot of trees in a video game + real-life trees.

We could use a screenshot of a partially cut-down tree in Minecraft floating in the air.

That, or a comparison image.

^But the floating doesn't have anything to do with the trope...

I don't think the real life comparison helps anything. The average person has seen a tree before and they know what they look like in comparison to their own height.

The average person has seen a tree before

Somehow I find this line pretty hilarious, even though it makes sense in context.

I'd say #3 from the first person's is the best so far. Rune Scape has a pretty proportional style, compared to Animal Crossing and the other pixel one.

Bump...#3 from the OP got added today. I don't have a problem with it; any objections?

I kinda like the DQIX example. It's bright and vibrant, very easy to see so there's no confusion between what is the tree and the background.

Are we good with the current pic or should we run a crowner?
