Bump.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Pretty much any of the images on the Animal Crossing wiki page for Trees would work. Perhaps this one?◊

Probably this of Runescape trees fit just fine.
Another thing we could try is a comparison shot of trees in a video game + real-life trees.
Rhymes with "Protracted."We could use a screenshot of a partially cut-down tree in Minecraft floating in the air.
That, or a comparison image.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific Mackerel^But the floating doesn't have anything to do with the trope...
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyHere are real life trees in comparison. In this case, different species of aspens.
I don't think the real life comparison helps anything. The average person has seen a tree before and they know what they look like in comparison to their own height.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSomehow I find this line pretty hilarious, even though it makes sense in context.
I'd say #3 from the first person's is the best so far. Rune Scape has a pretty proportional style, compared to Animal Crossing and the other pixel one.
Bump...#3 from the OP got added today. I don't have a problem with it; any objections?
I kinda like the DQIX example. It's bright and vibrant, very easy to see so there's no confusion between what is the tree and the background.
I like the one that got put up too. Is discussion still open, or can this thread be locked?

First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things. Are we good with the current pic or should we run a crowner?
Bump. Still like it.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Clock's set.
I also support the current Runescape pic.
We're done. Locking up.
All we need is a good shot of some small trees with another character for scale.
Here's a few screencaps to get us started: [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊
