What would AOEIV be based on? WW 1?

Hey, hey. I liked Age Of Empires 3. I thought there should have been more Skrimish modes, and that it should have gone beyond America and into Europe, but it was solid enough, and the Home City system has excellent.

That said, I need to find a copy of Age of Empires II for the Mac......

RTS games make up for lack of tactics with micromanagement and macromanagement which, in themselves, are tactics though.

AOE 3 has issues certanily, but how is it In Name Only?

The development seems to have followed logicaly from the earlier games. It wasn't a wild departure or anything like that, but a gradual evolution that turned out wrong.

Point, point.

AOE III as it was was pretty good, though my only regrets about it is that it's the time for many interesting wars in Europe and yet it gets overlooked in favor of colonial misadventures including the Prussian Germans and the Ottomans, among others.

Robot is working on Age of Empires Online. If that's popular, maybe they'll do Age of Empires IV - they can since they obviously own the IP.

Continuity Reboot? I havn't played II or I or The mythology ones at all, but found III enjoyable. I do like medival style games so i might give em a go.

AOE 1: Roman Empire, Alexander the Great, Dawn of the Rising Sun, CAESAR!!!, Barbarians.

AOE 2: 100 years wars, Holy Crusades, Gengis Khan, El Cid Campeador, Conquistadores, Gundpowder, Cannons, Genocide

AOE 3: More Conquistadores, More Cannon, More Gundpowder, Slavery, Industrial Revolution, Baddas Native

AOE 4: WW 1, Otto Von Bismarck, The Red FUCKING Baron, the last stand for Empires, because there is no more empires after the WW 1

Age of Empires IN SPACE?

Funnily, I think there was a Star Wars RTS that was entirely that - used the Ao E engine, gameplay, but the graphics were Star Wars.

Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. It actually had some interesting spins on the AOE formula since it had flying units and mechanized units were an interesting mix of calvary and siege units. It was actually a pretty well done game, but I haven't played it in five years or so.

I want to get the old ones now. I'd like having a main city that stays advanced.
