Rename: Thirty Xanatos Pileup

Is for situation like that I made a point of spelling my localization. I thought it would be tiresome to type 'pardon my bad English. Not native language'. I used to do that sometimes. I know my English is weird, but there is not much I can do.

As for my reasoning, I already said it. Renaming tropes cause problems on its own. We are generally not whiling to risk with them because someone thought that maybe the are, perhaps, a problem, possibly.

Furthermore, as I said, this whole thread is nonsensical. What we are trying to fix is, apparently, not Thirty Xanatos Pileup(which is doing fine), but Xanatos Gambit. Therefore, the topic of this thread should not be Thirty Xanatos Pileup, but Xanatos Gambit instead. It is even worse when we consider there is a Xanatos Gambit thread on going right now. Since we goal is to fix Xanatos Gambit, then all measures we are taking to archive this goal should be discussed and taken at same time. Renaming this trope is meaningless if we don't also analyze all the big Xanatos family.

Both Xanatos Speed Chess and Xanatos Roulette also suffer the same problem as Thirty Xanatos Pileup, for example. If you are correct, renaming one means renaming all the others, or the renaming will be wasted.

The point is, though, IF we have reason to believe tropes like Thirty Xanatos Pileup are the source of misuse of Xanatos Gambit (and yes, that can be hard to prove) then renaming Thirty Xanatos Pileup (and other sources of confusion) would make Xanatos Gambit easier to maintain in the long run. Sort of like how we renamed Nightmare Fuel to cut off said source of confusion. (Not to say this case is as obvious, but just making a point about the underlying reasoning here.)

As for renames, fair enough, I do not know how troublesome they are, but again, the question at its core should be, what are the benefits and drawbacks in the short-term and long-term? If Thirty Xanatos Pileup is a major source of confusion for other Xanatropes, that would imply a fair bit of long-term benefit.

You still are not addressing the point where the decision of renaming this trope should not be taken on its own, but taking several other tropes in mind as well. And working together with them all. Even if you are correct, we can't rename Thirty Xanatos Pileup before deciding what to do with Xanatos Gambit. To put in perspective, last time I checked, redefining Xanatos Gambit was actually being taking in consideration. If so, the rename would be pointless. Renaming Thirty Xanatos Pileup now to redefine Xanatos Gambit latter would be a dumb move. Having two threads to essentially deal with the same problem is a dumb move. It will cause such mismatch of solutions.
