My advice is: Stop. Right now.

...Play on Normal or Casual. Reliance on Biotics and Tech powers in 1 is brutal with the stupidly long cooldowns.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Thank you very much.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I keep trying to get back into this game but it just isn't clicking. I get to the a citadel and it just slows to a crawl.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? The Citadel is definitely a bit of a slog, especially if you're trying to do as many of the sidequests on it right away. Still, I enjoyed going back to the game after playing through 2. And I'm looking forward to eventually getting back to it again, when I have some time to dedicate to a full trilogy playthrough.
As for Sentinel . . . it might be the worst class in 1. It's hard to think of good advice on how to play it. Bring squadmates who can dish out damage, because the Sentinel sure as shit can't.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. But Yeah... I like Sentinel in 2 and 3, but it's damn near worthless in 1.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I started up an Infiltrator run. I know it gets better in 2 (seems like all the classes get better in 2), but are there any crippling handicaps I should be aware of for 1?
Kaidan's a Sentinel, isn't he? Man, no wonder he got so much hate in 1 compared to Ash.

Infiltrator might be my favourite class, even in 1. It has the benefit of having the two main tech skills - Electronics and Decryption - so you can open anything you come across without yourself. This allows the Infiltrator to be paired with any of the squad options easily. Infiltrator also has Medium Armour, giving a little more survivability than the other classes (except Soldier). And the Sniper Rifle, while very situational, can be immensely powerful. There are no real drawbacks I can think of, though I suppose it doesn't excel at close combat. Unless you give it Shotgun as the bonus skill.
Sentinel easily got the biggest boost from 1 to 2. It goes from being a weak, useless class, to being unstoppable.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I mean the stuff I liked I still like. Characters are great, locations are great, quests are pretty interesting but then I actually try to do anything and it just gets so dull. I think I'll throw it down to the easiest difficulty and grab my max level soldier so I can just breeze through the whole "game" part.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Never really had that much trouble with Sentinel. I just used Barrier and Marksman to shoot everyone to death, with the occasional Lift thrown in to make everyone go hovering in the air.
That line is so much more painful after playing through the trilogy. Those Heretics were apologizing to the other Geth.
Jonah FalconUnlikely. For one the Geth do things by consensus, if those Heretics were apologising all were and we wouldn't have Legion's loyalty mission. And for the more important reason that's where you get data that was from Geth untouched by Sovereign. Thus those had to be the True Geth, not Heretics.

Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexIf you're playing as a Sentinel, or any pistol only class, make sure you pick assault rifles as a bonus talent.
I found myself wrecking all kinds of face when I went Sentinel.
MIND BULLETSNo, those Geth who died. Not the other Heretics.
Jonah FalconAnyone else make a Perfect Shepard? I'm working on one right now and it's pretty awesome seeing how many points I have for other skills than I normally would.
Mix maxing in this game is silly, but if you want to do it, here is a tip :P Don't put any points into charm or intimidate.
Why? You get free skill points in them for getting enough renegade and paragon points. They stack over new game plusses. So you can max them just by completing the game enough many times.
@ JAF: Except that's not how the Geth work. If one Geth does something it's because they all agreed to do it. One Heretic wouldn't apologise to the True Geth unless they all did. And once again, that base was where you got Geth data untouched by Sovereign. All Heretics were with Sovereign. That base had to be True Geth.
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon Index1) Geth can make decisions removed from the consensus if they cannot actually access the consensus. See Legion, for example, when he makes decisions based purely on his internal run times. If you are dying, with no way to transfer your run times off-world, you might have to do rash decisions like that.
2) I don't remember the geth data you give Tali being actually uncorrupted. After all, the first game hadn't even established the concept of heretics, and the only geth beyond the Perseus Veil at the time was Legion, according to Mass Effect 2.
1) With the exception of Legion all of the Geth of a faction are always networked together. A point is made about how killing a Geth chassis is never an issue for the programs because they just upload to the central hub.
2) A point is made about the data is so valuable because this is the only chance Tali has to get uncorrupted data while she had tons of opportunities to get data from Geth working with Sovereign. Hence why it's so valuable as a Pilgrimage Gift. Legion had to be lying then. Since it's impossible for those Geth to be Heretic.

I already knew this, it's the whole reason I asked.
Geth delete their data when their platforms are destroyed. Hence why it was so important that she got as much as she did about Reapers and Saren. And no, all geth aren't networked together all the time. That is why geth were trying to build an analogue of a Dyson sphere, so they could be networked together all the time, before the quarians screwed it up by destroying their efforts towards that goal.
And Tali, or any quarian, is perfectly capable of getting data from any Geth. Hence why getting data from Geth with Sovereign isn't the hard part. Getting data from Geth that aren't is. They are always networked, the Dyson sphere was just to put all the hardware in the same place.

Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexNo, the Dyson sphere analogue was specifically so no geth would ever have to be alone again. Since hardware is meaningless to the geth, having all hardware at one place is also meaningless. It was only so all the software could communicate with all others at once, which implies that this isn't the case during the games.
Also, Tali states that if one is careful, quick and lucky, you can save parts of information from a geth's data drives. Extracting uncorrupted information from any platform isn't as easy as you make it sound to be.

It seems to me that the Geth in that mission have no carrier connection to the other Geth, which is why they send a radio emission of a quarian singing to the other Geth. They know it'll take decades or even centuries to reach the other Geth, too.
Do you have another explanation for the transmission?

So I'm thinking of starting a Sentinel playthrough. Any advice?
