Saints Row spoiled me, seriously.
Jonah FalconYou can't exactly top a mission in which you spray shit all over the city to earn cash.
It's not over. Not yet.I'm a bit noobish, but what's so wrong about the cover system?
As for the rest, I'm not really concerned about Max's change of looks. And Judging by the events of the last game, it makes sense how low he could have sunk.
You could still have film noir in sunlit non-American locales, but that's a more straight, neo-noir element, while the originals went for an almost theme-parkish noir.
Diving around and dodging attacks was more Max Payne's style. The cover system just seems like an attempt to hop on the bandwagon of modern shooters.
(Note: I don't mind cover shooters, just shooters that throw cover systems in for the Hell of it.)
Mass Effect 2 did it way better, in that you actually needed the cover system to survive.

It's not over. Not yet.Fine, but the Game Pro article gave more focus to the Bullet Time than it did to the cover system.
If one is able to use whichever method he wanted, what's the difference?
Bringing it back to L.A. would be interesting. Wonder if grove street will still be around.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Max Payne 3 dead. Thank God for that. I just KNEW this game wouldn't be good.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisI doubt Grove Street will be around, but I'm not surprised we're going back to Los Santos.
It's not over. Not yet.I was more fond of San Fierro than Los Santos, but any San Andreas-related locale is fine by me.

I'm hoping they're still around, could even give C.J. a role as a mentor of sorts.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Hopefully V will return to the zany, over the top, raw fun that was Vice City and Sand Andreas. Don't get me wrong, IV was good and I enjoyed it, but it just lacked all the fun that SA had.
Like dogfighting military jets in a jet fighter while Freebird played on the stereo.
The Ballad of Gay Tony was a return to GTA's usually form.
It's not over. Not yet.or take it even farther into grit. The lost and the damned was a ton of fun and it's story was (I think) better then iv's.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Nah, I didn't care much for The Lost and Damned. The grainy filter was awful, for starters. And the story was pure Kick the Dog/"Shaggy Dog" Story/whatever.
At least Luis and Gay Tony survived their story, killed the Big Bad, and were able to go back to their "normal" lives.
It's not over. Not yet. While YMMV on whether it's a good game in general, GTA IV is actually a pretty impressive exploration game. It's the attention to detail to the city, vehicles and pedestrians that redeems the game's otherwise underwhelming amount of things to do. This is why I rank Liberty City's design over those of Stilwater and Panau (though to Panau's defense, it is a pretty huge place; you could forgive them for emphasizing quantity over quality), even if the latter two are generally more fun to play in.
TLAD's game mechanics suffers from the same problem that plagued GTA IV. You actually lose features over the course of the storyline (i.e. Hi-Lo and the TV that clubhouse), and the side quests are pretty much the same and are as few in between as in GTA IV; so basically, you're left with very little to do after the end of the storyline missions. One thing that I like though is the work put into vehicle design and radio content, and the shear badassery of the storyline. After all, who else is crazy enough to break into a prison just to kill one inmate?
Of course, The Ballad of Gay Tony manages to alleviate some of these problems in GTA IV and TLAD, and while it's still not on par to GTA San Andreas, I'm relieved that the developers acknowledge that they still need to make a game fun in and out of missions. The cutscenes are still a little shoddy though.

Hi-Lo?
It's not over. Not yet.Cover system...in Max Payne? Does this mean he's not going to dive around in bullet-time? What the FUCK happened to taking cover on your own, like someone with BASIC FPS skills?
Also, I thought the ending of Max Payne 2 implied that he had overcome his demons, which would mean any further stories would just be Payne acting as a less-sociopathic, bullet-time version of the Punisher.
All in all I have severe doubts that Max Payne 3 will be a worthy successor to the first two games.
Worshipper of Ahura Mazda, as proclaimed by Zoroadster http://twitter.com/bpglobalprThe truth was a burning green crack in my brain. My series about a hard-boiled cop was killed by a series about psychopathic gangsters. Funny as hell, it was the most horrible thing I could think of.
