<Bouncer!Druddigon: "To be blunt, I've always thought that our lord's chosen one functioned best in the company of others. Not to mention, it hems in his looniness... Wherever he is, I'm sure that being around that human of his is doing him a couple favors.">

-To Sam-

<Bouncer!Druddigon: "... How about I make you a counter-offer?">

-And gives a signal roar, prompting about 40 other Druddigon to rush in, leering at the group-

<Bouncer!Druddigon: "Why don't you and your friends come to see things our way and leave in peace?

... And for the record, I've always hated that brown drink!">

A Small Community North of Opelucid

-I and a group of mons are feeding a mix of berries and meat to some members of the Deino line that have dwelt in this community for untold ages-

<Bottles: "So yeah, we brought you guys a bit of a spread.">

<Random!Zweilous (Right): "... Does it come with you as a garnish?">

<Bottles: "... Uh...">

<Random!Zweilous (Left): "Oh nice going, jerk. Now he's probably not going to give us any food!">

<Random!Zweilous (Right): "It was a joke! Even if he would probably taste good...">

-I guess it's always those out of the way places that really show you that a mon can be so much more than what myths say about it... Apparently towns like these have been keeping untamed Deino line members living on their outskirts for centuries... Not fully sure how it was this started... I think Dr. Tagg mentioned the prevailing theory being that it took more guts to attack a town with allied death lizards than one without them...-

-Prodding me, as I hold an incubator-

<Andre: "Can I fight one, Tracer?">

"... That's probably not the best idea in the world... These guys can be a lot tougher than they let on..."

-Blugh... Why do I have to be here? I mean, I enjoy the research, yes... But it's at the expense of being able to see something else that's entirely different... Even if I'd probably give Tangent an aneurysm if I ever formally published anything about it... A world that's entirely filled with Pokemon... With no humans... There's so much there just begging to be explored...-

-A certain Aerodactyl is playing tag with a pair of Deino-

<Zoltan: "Can't catch me! Can't catch me~!">

<Random!Deino #1: "When we do, can we taste your tail?">

<Random!Deino #2: "Yeah, you don't smell or sound like any mon we've ever run into before!">

-And yet, here I am... On my own... With 3 younglings, 2 starters, one technically a loaner, and this little guy... Or gal, in my hands... It's apparently from Umbra... Reynard's kid? I wonder what he or she's going to turn out to be like... And if that Illusion ability's going to wind up becoming as much of a headache as I'm dreading...-

<Random!Hydreigon: "Say... If your human doesn't want that egg, can I have it? It looks like it would taste good!">

-Having a certain button pressed-

<Pepper: "   ... Care to repeat that?   ">

<Random!Hydreigon: o.o; O.O; o.o; "Er... Eep... N-No, I'd rather not...">

<Lardna: "Hey! Don't shake down the mons you're supposed to observe!">

-Spluttering-

<Pepper: "But- Wha- Did you not just hear what that thing said?! ">

-And the two continue arguing in the background-

-Oh dear... They're doing it again... I didn't remember Lardna being this argumentative... Or Pepper for that matter... I wonder what's going on between the two of them?-

"Hey, hey! Easy! It's alright, Hydreigon have a tendency to think with their gut!"

<Pepper: "Mmph! That's not an asset!">

-(*sigh*) I hope that the rest of you guys are having fun... Wherever you are...

"Petilil": sighs <Look, I've never had a bureaucracy a shrine attendent is a luxury... but still... if your brother was off with a trainer who was later reported missing, shouldn't you worry?>

Tangent and his team are waiting by a windmill for Every to turn up.

Tangent(?): As one would guess, the direct approach was not so sucessful...

From the way the others are arguing, I would guess Sam did not negotiate very well... on the other hand, she seemed to talk a bit more peacefully with the guard. I guess it's fitting, I mean, Ilex...

Kodai would probably jump to helicoptors or something. That would not really help in this case... I would be shocked if his family was not on a vacation until this fuss dies down... why do people have to be so quick to join a frenzy? I mean, sure, I probably wouldn't have heard of this case on been tasked with it if the circus hadn't formed... but somebody would be taking care of things, and I'm sure their job would be a lot easier.

But we need somebody who knows how the guy thinks.

"Petilil": Well, that was certainly an Idealistic answer I got from the guy... of course, the Ideal purpose of a shrine is to bridge the realms between the Legends and mortals... what good is a presence among mortals if even the fate of your chosen one gets ignored by you?

Not that I can blame Zekrom... he probably hasn't even heard of these events. Uncomplemented Idealism, forgetting to take the pulse of reality on regular intervals... But we're not breaking through to him by the strengths of our arguments, for sure.

Hmm... his counterpart... she should be curious about the True fate of a chosen one, even if not her own... but she isn't at the Tower, she would be... oh!

Tangent(?): Well, the pattern oftens seems to be that rivals share the most similarities with each other... So Tracer's counterweight would be... one of those other Nuvemma kids? Bianca? Cheren?

"Petilil": <Hey! Hey!>

Lake glances at the Croconaw, pausing to swallow a chunk of Magikarp that Dew and Sky had purchased from a nearby fish vendor for him, along with a few more for themselves, Skye and Gino.

Lake: <Sure, what is it?>

Dew: <Well...me and Sky were just wondering...where do you come from?>

Sky nods, coming over having just finished eating a Finneon.

Sky: <I mean, it's obvious you and your friends aren't from around here. I mean, everymon knows about Bluescale...>

Lake: <Well, I guess you could say that's true, in a way. We're not from around here.>

Dew: <Oh, then were do you come from, then?>

Lake paused, not sure how the two would react if he told them he was from another universe. That said, though, he didn't have to mention that.

Lake: <I'm from this place called New Bark Town in a land called Johto that's...really far away from here.>

Dew and Sky say nothing, the Croconaw and Shelgon giving him a blank look.

Sky: <...Seriously?>

Lake: <What? That's where I'm from, honest!>

Sky: <Oh yeah? I doubt that.>

Lake: <...Why?>

Sky: <Well, you claim that you come from a faraway land called Johto...yet Bluescale is in Johto.>

The Feraligatr blinks, surprised.

Lake: <What...really? Bluescale is in Johto?!>

Huh. Had that shard teleported him and the others back home? And if it had, how come he had never heard of Bluescale before? Surely an entire community of Feraligatr and Salamence would be hard for anyone to miss, no?

Sky: <Of course it is. Tell me, are you not some sort of Space Feraligatr or something?>

Lake: <What?! Why would you think that?>

Sky: <Because you sound like you're from another planet or something. I mean, you claim to be from Johto yet you've never heard of Bluescale. Clearly, such ignorance betrays your extraterrestrial origins!>

Dew: <...Sky, do you realize how stupid you sound right now?>

The Shelgon leers at his Croconaw friend, huffing in annoyance.

Sky: <You're just jealous because I figured things out first, aren't you?>

Dew facepalms.

Dew: <By Lugia, you're such a nitwit.>

Ammy: Do I have to that last one by myself? I mean, the water's cold and icky, and you never do anything...

-is suddenly knocked back by a claw swipe from Maleficent-

Ow!

Maleficent: Give me lip like that again and I won't hold back as much. Now, I need rest.

-she moves deeper into the cave. Ammy sits on the floor a while and resists the urge to cry.-

Sky is silenced by a sharp nip from Dew.

Dew: <Just stop. You're only making yourself look stupid.>

The Shelgon decides to keep quiet, least he get another nip from his friend. The Croconaw in question gives him a disapproving look, before turning to Lake.

<Sorry about him. So, you're from Johto?>

Lake: <Yeah, from a place called New Bark Town near the Kanto boarder.>

Dew tilts her head.

Dew: <...New Bark Town? I've never heard of it...>

Sky: <Neither have I. It sounds like something an alien would make up.>

Lake: <Well, it might be pretty far away. Tell me, what's the closest town to Bluescale?>

Dew: <...Town?>

Lake: <Oh, the closest place that humans live.>

Dew stares at Lake blankly, as does Sky.

Sky: <Okay, he's clearly out of the loop.>

Lake: <Huh? What do you mean?>

Dew gives Lake a grave look.

Dew: <You...you really don't know, do you?>

Lake: <Know what? About humans?>

The Feraligatr's expression turns to one of worry.

<What happened with the humans?>

Dew looks kind of hesitant for a few moments, before finding the courage to confess.

Dew: <The thing is, Lake...there aren't any humans anymore.>
