If I'm right about this, mankind probably built what they thought were sufficient bunkers to defend against the conversion wave. Not sure if it worked, but hopefully if we find a bunker we can salvage any historical documents they stored.

Now, if you want a good place to put a bunker, it has to be geologically stable and near enough to population centres to move civilians in. Does the Unovan Desert sound suitable?
