-Ren holds up his tablet and shows Joseph a few sketches of Rio in various Halloween themed accessory ensembles - including an Anubis, a Were-beast, and a vampire themed ones.-

Ren: Designing accessories for my team for the contest next month. I thought I'd go with Halloween motifs since the Contest is so close to it.

Ren: -pointing at the clear-blue capsules- Those are ball capsules. They work in tandem with —

-points at the box of seals-

— theses seals. You put a poke ball in a capsule then put seals on the outside of the capsule. So when call out your mon from their ball stuff like this can happen...

-Ren shows Joseph a clip of Ren calling out Kitsune during a contest, blue, red, and orange flame seals are visible on Kitsune's poke ball's capsule. Kitsune appears amidst swirling blue, red, and orange fireballs rather that the standard light and flashes that her Cherish Ball produces-

However, since Poke balls only work in Joulant while here in Holon, you'd have to go there to try them out.

That would seem like a bit of a ways.

Ren: Yep. I'm having trouble which one I'm going to choose. Though I personally like the Anubis one the most as it won't get in the way of Rio's movements...

Now you see why I'm still debating. The Were-beast ensemble is similarly non restrictive, but would require a lot moe logistics to pull off; letting parts of Rio's fur grow out and then having to style it the day of the contest is just the first things that come to mind.

Yes it would. I looks awesome, but the cape would get the way of his arms and presents a trip hazard. And then there are the fake fangs...

Ren: -pulling up some other sketches- Yep. There's Hecate for one, since she is going to be the mon I'm using for the appeals segment, and a couple of others.

-Hecate's accessory is a witch's hat, that been cut off near the brim, so that Hecate's flame makes the point of the hat.-

-Kitsune's ensemble gives here the appearance of a Ranseian demon-

-Seamstress's ensemble gives her the appearance of a female version of Sweeney Todd.-

-Brandon is gone. The only indication of his presence is a note left on the bedside table in his quarters.-

-Since the only other remaining member of the Pugilian court is currently out of the kingdom on business, Takuma's funeral arrangements have been left to the Illusian authorities.-

Spectra - Around 600 years ago

-After a long journey, the purple-armoured figure has reached the gates of the kingdom and is currently observing the guard detail from a reasonable distance. After a few moments, she nods at her Banette.-

Ayame: Hmm... you sure no-one here'll recognise you?

Libitina: <Not unless we run into Duolis or the fallen lover himself. And hopefully we'll be avoiding the attention of anyone important.>

Ayame: Alrighty then, here goes nothing!

-She flicks down the visor on her helmet and approaches one of the guards at the gates.-

Guard: State your business.

Ayame: I'm here to request more troops for the Pugilian garrison. Just got back from that sinkhole myself.

Guard: Still trying to put up some opposition, are they?

Ayame: That they are. The stubborn meatheads just don't know when to quit. Some of them are still rioting, right beneath our noses. So I say we send a few more Warriors over there and make an example of some of the more vocal protesters to show them just how Spectra deals with dissent. Remind them of their place in things.

Guard: Amen to that. Here's hoping the Ghost Lord sees things the same way.

-The guard stands aside to let Ayame and Libitina through, though the Banette looks somewhat troubled.-

Libitina: <...Nice acting.>

Ayame: Thanks! Is something wrong, though?

Libitina: <...It's nothing. Let's just do what we were sent here to do and get out of here, okay?>

Since I'm known for making my own accessories for my mon, my sponsors insist that I come up with a few ideas for each of my mon. That way they can mass produce a few of them and sell them as merch. So I'm actually getting paid to come up with these ideas.

Some, but not all. It's the same for other holidays as well - some get more festive that others. I'm being Halloweeny because I like it and I'm getting paid to do it.
