Stratus tilted his head at Unite, confused.

Stratus: <Why?>

Unite: <Well, you ever hear about birds getting sucked into airplane engines? Do you want that to happen to you?>

Stratus: O_O <Uh...no?>

Unite: <Of course not. So if I were you, I wouldn't go too high. That goes for you too, Comet.>

The Charizard huffed, crossing her arms.

Comet: <Yeah, yeah...>

Unite: <Good. Just wanted to make sure we were clear on that.>

Curious about something, Stratus timidly raised his hand.

Stratus: <Question. Can I still use Bubble Shield?>

Unite: <Eh? Oh, right. Sure, I guess. I haven't seen you go that high with it, so I guess it's fine.>

Stratus: <Oh, YAY!>

Comet: <And you're supposed to be the oldest out of all of us?>

With a nod, Stratus crossed his arms.

Stratus: <I assure you that I am a fully certified, mature adult!>

Staring, Comet just sat in silence for a few moments, then...

Comet: <Pfft...Ahah...AHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, mon! Thanks a lot, Stratus! AHAHAHA! I needed a good laugh!>

Stratus: <HEY! I was being serious!>

Treeo: <I think that might have something to do with it, Stratus...>

- Nods -

Sure! I bet she's been wanting to see you too.

A cave, somewhere in Unova

-Two men dressed in white and grey uniforms are walking through a large, rocky cavern, deep in conversation. A certain Kadabra is observing them from a distance, occasionally twirling his fork idly.-

Deimos: I figured you'd be more surprised by the fact that your son's using this Aura stuff or whatever it's called.

Titan: Rest assured, the fact that Lucius is an Auric comes as no surprise to me. What surprises me is that his abilities have manifested themselves so early... you say he was able to execute a Force Palm, correct?

Deimos: I dunno what you'd call it, but it knocked Runt out cold. A kid as skinny as him shouldn't be able to KO a Toxicroak with nothing more than a right hook.

Titan: Correct. Which reminds me, have your Pokemon been restored to full capacity yet?

Deimos: Grunt, Runt and the Bisharp are all back in action. Brute still hasn't regrown his claws after that fucker's Gallade cut 'em off. But don't worry, I've left him with the techies. They're making some... improvements.

-A wry smile spreads across Titan's mouth for a second, before disappearing just as quickly.-

Titan: Excellent. My Pokemon are strong enough to survive such an encounter, I have no doubts about their wellbeing. Which leads me onto my second question. Did Omega recognise the Metagross from last time?

Deimos: Couldn't understand 'em, obviously. But judging by how enthusiastically they went at each other, I'd say they had some history.

Titan: Then my suspicions are confirmed.

-Titan stops for a second.-

Titan: Pallad... it's been a long time since I last beat that "unbeatable" Metagross.

Deimos: Wait, you know that monster?

Titan: I had my suspicions since your encounter with it in Black City, but this confirms them. I have fought Pallad before. Omega was able to defeat it. It was the secret weapon of the Sinnoh champion, Ivy, about twenty years ago.

Deimos: Well, it evidently ain't hers any more.

Titan: Indeed it is not. Ivy passed away five years ago. A Toxicroak attack in the Johto Safari Zone, if I remember correctly. However, she was survived by her son... and her daughter.

-Deimos gives a wide, malicious grin.-

Deimos: Ah, so that's the little bitch we've kept coming up against. That would explain why she pisses herself every time I sic the Terrible Trio on her.

Titan: That is a weakness we can use to our advantage, yes. Though I am more concerned about Pallad at the moment. You say Omega lost the fight?

Deimos: Yeah, but those little fucks haven't heard of fighting fair. It was three Pokemon up against her, one of which was that damned Metagross, and all of them looked pretty powerful.

Titan: Omega's pride will not allow her to be beaten so easily. Undoubtedly she is already preparing for her next encounter with Pallad. Perhaps I should take her to Quest Island, where she will face a challenge befitting her skills for once.

Deimos: Why are you so concerned about her? She's just an animal. I don't know why you gave her a name in the first place.

-Titan is silent for a moment.-

Titan: We will discuss this matter later. In the meantime, you were able to observe more members of the group and their abilities?

Deimos: Of course. For a start, there was this posh fuck in a suit who tried to...

-Deimos and Titan continue to walk deeper into the cavern, their conversation echoing back down the cave until it eventually fades. The Kadabra remains in place for a few more moments, before teleporting away in silence.-

-Herbert walks downstairs into the lobby, carrying his laptop and looking somewhat distracted.-

Herbert: Oh, morning everyone. Everyone okay this morning?

-He sits down with his laptop, and continues browsing curiously.-

-He continues searching through the archives, still seemingly deep in thought and occasionally sipping a cup of coffee.-

Lake: <So what's this you and Unite saw? Something about a Sawsbuck?>

Woolly nodded.

Woolly: <That's right. This Sawsbuck was in there, giving a speech to the wild Pokémon about trainers and how bad they are.>

Treeo: <Bad?>

Woolly: <He said that being caught by a trainer meant giving up any sense of freedom, and that they do nothing but oppress Pokémon.>

Lake: <What?! Is this for real?>

Woolly: <That's what he said. so he urged all of the Pokémon to avoid trainers so that they couldn't catch 'em.>

Treeo frowned, rubbing his chin with a claw in thought.

Treeo: <It's almost as if he was trying to incite a revolution. But...>

He raised his arms, shrugging.

<Why do that? The partnership between trainer and Pokémon is mutual!>

Lake: <Yeah! Through working together, humans and Pokémon both become stronger than they ever could alone! Getting rid of that would only leave us worse off!>

Treeo: <Perhaps this Sawsbuck had a bad experience with a trainer? Not all of them are good, after all.>

Woolly: <Maybe we shouldn't worry about it? It was just one Sawsbuck, after all. Even if he does have problems with trainers, one Pokémon alone isn't going to kick off an open rebellion.>

Lake: <Mmm. You could be right, Woolly. If there were more Pokémon going around telling others that sort of thing, that would be cause for alarm. But we haven't seen any yet.>

Treeo: <We'll keep our eyes and ears open, then. See if anymon else is up to something.>

Woolly: <Sounds good to me!>

???: <INCOMING!>

The three Pokémon glanced up, then quickly jumped put of the way as a certain bubbled Dragonite landed where they had been standing.

Stratus: <WOO! Hey guys! What'cha talking about?>

Lake simply gave Stratus a tried look.

Lake: <Do you always have to make an entrance, Dad?>

Stratus: <Aww, but it's fun!>

Jacob: -Darkens- "That reminds me.... that Infernape was his, right? Not Deimos's? Meh, it doesn't matter. I don't care who's it is. They've both made enemies out of me."
