Pokemon Battles on Rotating Stages!

Ecruteak

-Maggie is wandering around-

-Silent and his Nidorino are wandering at a plaza after they've gone visit some of the interns living in the city-

-Silent and Maekrite are randomly talking about the J-Team (in a somewhat low voice)-

-Maggie hears the word J-Team, notices who she believes is Silent, and runs over to greet him-

-Maekrite flickers his ears as he notices someone approaching…-

Maggie: Oh, hi. You're Silent, right?

Silent nods.

Silent: "I'm Silent, yes… " - shows his PEFE badge - "who might you be?"

Maggie: Oh, my name's Maggie. I'm a big fan of the J-Team and I've been sort-of travelling with them for a bit.

Silent: "Oh, the J-Team. I see you know about them…" stands up and offers a handshake. "Nice to meet you, Maggie. Gotten into the weirdness yet?"

-Maggie accepts the handshake-

Maggie: Honestly, not as much as I would have liked...

Maekrite snorts.

Maekrite: <That's what they say at first, then the Moon falls…>

-Silent shoe-nudges the Nidorino-

-Silent turns back to Maggie.-

Silent: "So, I understand you are with some of them around the city? How come I haven't seen them I wonder..."

Maggie: I don't really know. I haven't seen you as much in the TV Show either, recently.

Silent blinks.

Silent: "That TV show is still a thing…?"

-Maekrite paw-nudges the human, who returns to his senses-

Silent: "Anyway, sorry… this is my second starter, Maekrite. The yellow markings are... a fashion statement."

Maggie: Oh, hi Maekrite.

Maekrite: <Hello~> *rawrs a hi*

-Maggie feels free to take this as a cue to ask for a battle-

Maggie: So, would you be up for a battle? I haven't had one in a while?

Silent thinks for a moment.

Silent: "Actually I haven't either. Some of my mons could use the exercise."

Maekrite yawns and stands up, Silent looks down at him for a moment.

Silent: "Mind if I ask how experienced you are, Maggie?"

Maggie: Well, I wouldn't call myself too experienced. I've got 4 Pokemon, and two of them have barely battled.

Silent produces two Pokéballs from his belt.

Silent: "Aah, I see. Then I guess I'll be fair and not sic my Nidorino on your team. Sorry, Maekrite."

Maekrite: <Awwww…> — kicks a random pebble.

Maggie: Actually... This might just be boredom talking, but would you be up for making it more interesting?

Silent: "More interesting? So long as we are not battling on motorcycles, yeah, why not!"

-Maekrite returns to the bench and lies under it, watching-

Maggie: Well, would you be up for a rotation battle? But with 4 Pokemon out instead of 3?

Silent: "With four Pokémon? Well, I do have enough of a party…" Thinks for a moment. "How would we go about rotating them?"

Maggie: We can rotate left or right, but not to the back Pokemon?

Silent: "Yeah... I think it'd make sense. Okay, would you mind if I send out my Pokémon first?"

Maggie: Sure, that works

Silent walks to a conveniently nearby rotation stage

-Maggie follows him to the conveniently placed stage-

Silent tosses two of his Pokéballs, from them emerging an obviously annoyed Ekans and a Espeon.

The Ekans instantly starts swinging his rattle, while Silent produces two more Pokéballs and sends out a Lileep and a Masquerain. The four Pokémon align on the ring in that order.

-Maggie ponders which order to send her Pokemon out, eventually deciding, she takes four balls and releases Kernel from her ball first, followed by Slliuq, Sweetie, then SleepyHead-

Kernel: Oh, great, you're still travelling with these guys?

Sweetie: We shall be VICTORIOUS!

Slliuq: Gniugirtni. Erofeb siht ekil egats a nees reven.

-The Ekans looks at the opponents in front of him and rattles a nervous hello, conscious his screentime is in danger-

Silent: "Anyway, meet my team. This Python, my Ekans."

Sol the Espeon, blinks as she notices the weird way the Qwilfish has of expressing herself, and swings her tail.

Sol: <H-hello? A-are you [special] in some way?>

Slliuq: Laiceps? Naem uoy od tahw?

Sol: <Like, your voice, it's... backwards? Not like the first time I see something like this, though~>

Silent gives a nod to the rest of his team so that they prepare for battle. Of the four mons, only Algira is seen wearing a nondescript Gem

Silent steps back to give his Pokémon their room

Silent: "Are you ready to begin, Maggie?"

Maggie: Oh. Yes, I am ready.

Silent: "Right then, let's begin." To the Ekans. "Python? Go in there and Bite that Sunkern..."

-Python dashes at the Sunkern, still rattling-

-Maggie was expecting a Poison-type attack, so rotates the stage left-

- Algira the Masquerain notices the scene change and emits a lighthearted pattern -

Algira: <Oooh, my turn yet? :3>

Silent: "No, not yet..."

-SleepyHead is collided into by Python's attack, but even being Super Effective, it doesn't do much, because he's still fairly young-

Maggie: SleepyHead, use Hypnosis!

-SleepyHead sends hypnotic suggestions at Python-

-Python looks fairly surprised at meeting a Drowzee out of nowhere and wriggles up, his stare falling at the hypnotic suggestion-

Python:

< self.status = status['sleepy']; self.status.count = 3; >

-The Ekans coils and starts snoring soundly, prompting Silent to rotate the stage right-

Sol the Espeon♀: -purrs- <Oh, I expected to meet the Qwilfish, but still. Hello there~>

SleepyHead: Oh, -yawns- hello

-Silent points to the Drowzee-

Silent: "That was a nice maneuver. Meet Sol, a Pokémon that was once a friend of mine's..."

Maggie: Oh, yeah, Luke's wasn't she?

-Silent smirks-

Silent: "Yes, you are well informed."

Sol: <You know Luke? Eeeeeeee~> - head jewel shines for a moment -

Kernel: STOP WASTING YOUR LIFE WITH THIS USELESS TRIVIA!

-Maggie is oblivious to Kernel's outburst-

Maggie: Well, I don't know him personally, but TV Show and all that

Python:

<…zZz…>

Silent: "Sol? Go ahead with a Quick Attack!"

-The Espeon gets into a pouncing position and then dashes towards SleepyHead-

-SleepyHead is too slow to avoid the fast attack, and is struck by it-

Maggie: Hmm... Use Headbutt!

-SleepyHead lowers her head and charges at Sol-

-Sol, still rebounding from the Quick Attack, can't get far enough to avoid the Headbutt that sends her back to her side of the field-

Sol: <Me-owww!> — lies sprawled on the ground for a moment, gets up.

Sweetie: FINISH HER!

SleepyHead: Do you have to be so loud?

Sweetie: It is your duty to the QUEEN!

-SleepyHead shakes her head and focuses on the battle again-

Silent gives a quick look at Maggie's team.

Silent: "Sol, you'll have to handle them slightly longer."

Algira: -sees Sweetie- <You know, actually I _am_ a queen in the future. Sort of...>

Sol meanwhile spreads her legs and prepares for the next attack, her attention on the rotation ring.

Sweetie: You are the queen? Why are you having that worker give you orders then?

Algira: -flutters around- <Because I like to be with my King just like that~> — emmits a romantic buzz.

Sweetie: Well, you can continue with your unorthodox leadership method all you want. But know that WE WILL PREVAIL!

Kernel: STOP SHOUTING SO MUCH!

Algira listens to Sweetie and buzzes somewhat angrily

Algira: <Oooh let it be my turn yet!>

Silent thinks his next order.

Silent: "Sol, let's go more tactical. A Future Sight?"

-Sol hunches over and focuses power from her jewel which creates a glowing blue orb of energy-

-SleepyHead is on guard for the attack, but notices nothing happens then and lets her guard down-

Maggie: Use Meditate, then Headbutt!

-SleepyHead focuses her energy, goes into a pose, then her body is briefly compressed upwards for some reason, raising her attack, she then lowers her head and dashes at Sol-

-Sol is hit head on by SleepyHead's ram, but not before she manages to push the small energy orb a small distance up to the sky, where it starts pulsating. The Espeon is thrown to the ground with more force this time-

Python: -rattles softly in his sleep-

Sol meanwhile stands up and returns to her position with some effort.

Silent thinks for a moment…

Silent: "Well, you are doing a good work so far Sol. Let's try something different...."

Silent rotates the stage to the right again, bringing the Lileep forth. The Pokémon merely swings his tentacles around chanting in some archaic language.

-Maggie rotates the stage right-

Maggie: Kernel, use Leech See-

-Maggie notices the change-

Maggie: Drat!

-Kernel sends seeds out at where the Espeon was, but the Lileep now is-

Silent raises an eyebrow at the change as Lileep is surrounded by the seeds, which open and ingrain themselves around Lileep, to little effect.

Lileep: *emits a gutural sound, as he contracts his trunk, picks one of the broken seeds from the ground and noms it*

Silent scratches his head.

Silent: "Uhhh… L-Lileep? Go ahead with an Acid."

-The Pokémon takes his sweet time to answer, swinging tentacles more eerily-

-Maggie notices Lileep isn't attacking immediately, and uses the opportunity to rotate to Slliuq-

-Lileep fires the Acid, but it arcs up and falls only after the Qwilfish has taken the spot. Lileep doesn't look very surprised-

-Slliuq is struck by the acid, not doing too much damage, but it does lower some of her defensive power-

Maggie: Use Poison Sting!

-Lileep rights himself up as he hears something about an attack-

-Slliuq puffs up, then shoots poisonous quills out of her body at Lileep-

-Several of the quills hit the Lileep's softest parts and cause him to swing around somewhat wildly; the Pokémon emits a strong sound as he starts feeling himself poisoned-

Silent notices his Pokémon has been poisoned.

Silent: "Curses. Well, Lileep, you should be able to resist. Confuse Ray the Qwilfish!"

-Algira emits some flashing patterns-

Algira: <My turn yet?>

-Lileep starts casting a weird yellow-ish luminescence from his tentacles, which he starts swinging around in erratic patterns-

-Slliuq is mesmerized by the yellow-ish luminescence, following it around until she becomes confused-

Slliuq: .woW ...I don't feel so gooD

-Sol, sitting on her place at the ring, tilts her head as she now looks at Slliuq with more interest-

-Lileep meanwhile starts a sort of dance on his spot, which, unknown to the characters, is actually a ritualized celebration of the migrations of Water-types-

Sol: <Oh? Are you not feeling OK?>

-Slliuq notice Sol looking at her-

Slliuq: ...uH ...I feel horriblE

-Slliuq hurts herself in confusion-

Sol: <…Eeeep! ._.>

Silent: "Well, at least we know the Confusion works... Lileep? Lileep?"

-Lileep dances more-

Silent sighs.

Silent: "Lileep, can you focus?"

-Maggie notice Slliuq isn't feeling the best-

Maggie: Maybe I should switch you out...

-Maggie rotates to Kernel-

Silent: "Hmmm..." Silent thinks for a moment. "Not much we can do here. Astonish, Lileep!"

Sol frowns.

Sol: <You should have switched to me.>

Algira: <No, to me!> — buzzes.

-Lileep stops wriggling for a moment, then drags himself up to Kernel-

Kernel: ...This is so creepy

Maggie: See if you can get in a Mega Drai-

-Lileep gets closer enough then shakes himself wildly and emits a loud gutural sound-

-Kernel is damaged by the Astonish and flinches-

-Python, meanwhile, shuffles uncomfortably from the loud noise, but keeps snoring~-

Maggie: Alright, try a Mega Drain now, then.

-Lileep starts swinging his tentacles again, not really very understanding of what a Mega Drain is about-

-Kernel gets over being creeped out and tries sucking energy from Lileep-

Silent watches as Lileep has some energy drained.

Silent: "No, Lileep, crawl back! Back!" — points to our own rotation ring, to no avail.

Since Lileep seems to be kinda fazed by the energy siphoning experience, Silent decides to instruct the Pokémon to Constrict Kernel.

-Lileep, still close to Kernel, tries to wrangle some of his tentacles around the Sunkern-

-Kernel is SQUEEZED, but not too well, by the Lileep-

Kernel: Ugh. Still creepy...

Slliuq: ...everything is spinninG

-Kernel attempts to absorb more energy from Lileep-

-Lileep makes a pained noise and lets go of Kernel, then starts crawling back to Silent's side of the battlefield-

-Sol neighs and then looks up to examine her Future Sight orb, which starts pulsating slower but stronger-

-Neither Maggie nor Kernel are paying attention to the Future Sight Orb-

Maggie: Mega Drain again!

-Kernel attempts absorbing energy from Lileep again-

-Silent notices the attack and decides to switch the rotation ring right, so that Algira the Masquerain hovers into the stage-

Algira: <Finally!> - buzzes and showcases one of her Intimidation patterns while the Mega Drain absorbs some energy from her.

-The Gem Algira is carrying can now be clearly seen as it being a Water Gem-

-Kernel draws back a bit from the Intimidation pattern, but she doesn't use physical attacks much anyway, so it doesn't matter-

Algira starts hovering around...

Algira: <Was somemon pulling my wing?>

Silent turns to Maggie.

Silent: "This is Algira, my Masquerain. I caught her in Hoenn some time ago."

Maggie: Ah, yes.

Maggie: Oh, I just realized you've been telling me about your Pokemon, but I haven't told you about mine

Sol: <I want to know about the Qwilfish…> — swings a paw

-Maggie notices Sol is indicating Slliuq-

Silent seems to notice as well, but decides to let Maggie do the talking

Maggie: Oh, her. About a month ago, I heard there was a Qwilfish swarm going on on Route 31.

Silent nods.

Silent: "Oh, I must have missed that swarm from the news."

Maggie: I decided to try and catch one, but I didn't have a fishing rod or any Pokemon that could Surf.

Maggie: So I jumped in the water to see if I could catch one that way

Sol swings her tail

Sol: <Tell more! Tell more!>

-she gets distracted and doesn't notice the Future Sight becoming bigger and paler-

Maggie: Well, Slliuq came and brought me back to the bridge I jumped off, we battled, I caught her, and SleepyHead suggested the name

-Kernel looks up and notices the Future Sight-

Silent: "Huh... I have to say the name looks really interesting…"

Kernel: Maggie! Rotate me! NOW!

-Maggie doesn't notice Kernel's pleas-

Maggie: Yeah, SleepyHead suggested it. I'm still not entirely sure why, though.

-The Future Sight stops pulsating and heads down fairly fast, releasing some small psychic jolts-

Kernel: OH MY ARCEU-

-Kernel is struck by the psychic jolts, barely hanging on-

-Sol jerks up as she realizes what is happening-

Sol: <…Oooh? S-sorry! I didn't expect...>

Silent: "._."

-Maggie just now notices what happened-

Silent mentally facepalms, while Sol bows and apologizes...

Algira, meanwhile, watches nervously at what has just happened.

Maggie: Uh... Let's see if we can't leech some of that back...

-Kernel, taking this as a cue to attack, shoots seeds at Algira-

Algira: <…Ee-eeep!> -she hovers up and flies around, but is still caught by one of the seeds that sprouts a parasitic vine around her-

Eli: <Did you see the way Cambria acted? So very different from when we first met... and not in a good way.>

Eli's would-be-self: (shrugs) Yeah. I understand what you mean, but you shouldn't-

Eli: <Is that what evolution does to other Pokemon? Not just change them on the outside, but also on the inside?>

Eli's would-be-self: Well... Sometimes that happens, I guess.

Eli: <I see... Well, if that's the case, then maybe I don't want to evolve!>

Eli's would-be-self: Hey, I don't think-

Eli: <And I won't let Candida or Sunburst evolve either!>

Eli's would-be-self: What?

Eli: <I don't want either of them to change...>

Eli's would-be-self: But...

Sunburst's mindscape

Sunburst: <Grr... How dare that dinosaur thing treat my brother like that? I should burn her!> (pauses) <... I suppose I should first figure out something to do for Eli to cheer him up, but I'm not really too good at stuff like that...>

- Suddenly, Sunburst's Sunflora plushie appears in a puff of pink smoke -

Sunflora plushie: Ooh! Maybe I can help you think of something nice to do for your super, special, awesome big brother! Helping others makes me SMILE!

Sunburst: (blinks) <... How did you get in here!?>

Real World

Sunburst: (opens an eye slightly, glancing over at the Sunflora plushie to make sure it is laying still in one spot) <... Good.> (to the plushie) <Listen, I appreciate that you want to help, but stay out of my head, okay?>

Sunflora plushie: (no response)

Sunburst: <... Good.> (goes back to sleep)

Candida's mindscape

- There's nothing in particular going on in there, just Candida rolling around on the surface of a frozen lake -

Candida: (rolling around on the ice) <Wheeeee!>

Great time to act all weird on me, Xabber...

-Umbra, Lina, Ammy, and Arika are gathering their mons-

Olivine Center

-Every is unconscious-

- Wakes up -

Ecruteak

- Umbra, Lina, Ammy, and Arika, have gathered all their mons, and now are talking-

Arika: So, you guys want to get away for a while?

Umbra: Yeah... I want to spend some time with Ammy... Train my mons... Try and do some researcher and priest stuff for once...

Human!Ammy: I've already sent Issun to tell everybody!

Lina: -blinks- Everybody?

Meanwhile

Issun: -approaches a random player character- [Hello!] I'm just [informing] you that [Umbra] , [Lina] , [Ammy] , and [Arika] are taking a [vacation] for a few weeks! [See ya!]

-He then moves on to the next player character... and the next... and the next... -

Human!Ammy: -Deep, masculine voice- EVERYBODY. >:|

Arika: But wait... when do we get back?

Umbra: Hmmm...

Lina: What about shortly before Christmas? Like, three to five days before?

- Umbra and Ammy blink-

Umbra: I'm... actually not sure what Christmas is.

Human!Ammy: Me neither... Though those "commercials" talk about it a lot...

Lina: Oh! Well...

One long, ridiculously detailed explanation of the nature and history of Pokeverse!Christmas later...

Lina: ...And that's what Christmas is!

Human!Ammy: So many words... @_@

Umbra: I can remember most of that... I think... @_@

Arika: I didn't even know all that... @_@

-Crow has been observing the armband, but has yet to put it on-

Crow: Interesting... It looks like that armband I saw in Violet that turned Gogie and Ghostus human, but I also remember hearing about armbands that turn humans into Pokemon... Hmmm... I wonder...

-Crow slips the armband on-

-Crow transforms into a Murkrow, the balls on his belt, no longer having anything to hold them, clatter to the floor-

Crow: Oooh! Intere-

-the backpack starts weighing down on Crow-

Crow: GAH!

-Crow pushes on the backpack to prop it up so that that doesn't happen again-

-Somehow this wakes no one up-

-Lyuri was drinking soda when Issun appeared out of nowhere in her room, said his message and went out.-

-Beat-

-Lyuri didn't understand a single thing of what he said and just continued to drink-

Eskay's House

Eskay gets wary seeing a Joltik, but relaxes realizing it's just Issun.

Eskay: All right. Sorry about that... Those show people give you guys a bad rep...

He briefly wonders where Psyche is.

Lina: So, that sound good? It's about two weeks...

Human!Ammy: Yeah!

Arika: And is there anything we need to wrap up first?

Umbra: Well, I have one thing... I haven't talked to Tracer in a while... So catching up with him before we go would be nice.

Human!Ammy: OK! Let's find him, then! ^_^

- They set off to look for Tracer-

PEFE HQ

- Eowyn is hanging out in a random module, practicing her moves on equipment she brought in from a gym. Roxas and Xion are chatting nearby-

Olivine Center

Psyche sighs. ~Maybe I should call him...~ She walks out of the room with Mezzo and Every into the hallway.

Galahad teleports back. ~No luck finding them?~

He shakes his head. ~Ah, well. I need a translator anyway.~ She dials Eskay's number.

Olivine Center

-Diesel watches as someone who to him is a complete stranger wanders in, administers medical care, and leaves- <...That was odd.>

Jab: -sniffs Every- <Helpful, though.>

Eskay's House

Eskay hears his phone ringing, and answers.

Eskay: Oh, hey, Psyche.

Psyche signs, Where are you? Galahad translates.

Where Crow was last

-Crow manages to prop the backpack up-

MurCrow: Well, I can't really see what this new body is like with my stuff scattered around like this-

-MurCrow removes the armband and goes to see Crewe, but is suddenly approached by Issun, who he now understands-

Crow: Huh, I can understand non-Ghost-types now. Interesting. I suppose it would come with it, though. Anyway, I need to find somewhere to put my stuff...

-Crow picks up his backpack and balls and heads off to find Crewe-

Wherever Crewe is, regardless of whether she's Sneasel or human, and whether or not she's awake

-Crow shows up-

Crow: HeyCrewecouldyouholdontotheseformeforabit?Kthnxbai.

-Crow gives Crewe the backpack and balls and heads out of view-

-Crow puts on the armband and transforms again-

-MurCrow heads out of the Pokeceter and starts flying around-

They're going on vacation, huh? Maybe I should head back to Sinnoh when it gets closer to Christmas, and spend the holidays at home...

Eskay: I'm at home in Ecruteak. You?

"I'm still in Olivine. That Dark Girl, Mezzo, I think her name was, was almost kidnapped, and her boyfriend was almost killed by someone who looked a lot like him."

-Sakura was drinking tea in her room together with Seth when Issun appeared, said his message and went off-

-Beat-

-They resumed what they were doing-

Seth: <Well, was that random.>

Sakura: Yes, yes it was. -sips some tea-

-starts off towards the Bell Tower-

-Straw follows Crewe to the Bell Tower-
