Well, it's a twelve episode Magical Girl series. Madoka and her best friend Sayaka meet this weasel-like creature called Kyubey, who wants them to make a contract with him and become magical girls who fight creatures called witches, and in exchange, he would grant them any wish. However, Homura, a Magical Girl who in the first transfer to Madoka's school, seems determined to prevent Madoka from making such a contract...

Without spoiling too much of the series, let's just say that things aren't what they seem at first, and it later becomes apparent that Homura has some very good reasons for not wanting Madoka to become a Magical Girl.

Mandarin South, Before Dusk (Two Hours Ago)

-Maekrite runs behind the fountain and crosses to the other side of the park, evading the Razor Leaves from a Pokémon that reveals herself to be Ichtacya. Despite being a (theoretically) friendly face, however, Maekrite is not in the mood to explain himself, nor is Ichtacya in the mood to let him go-

Maekrite -flares ears, points horn forwards- — <Stand down, Ichtacya. I'm really not in the mood to take this from you.>

Ichtacya — <So you know my name...> — paces around, synthesizing sunlight — <It is expected... should have known something weird was going on when the bugs here mentioned a Delta.>

Maekrite — <I already told you I'm not a Delta!>

Ichtacya — <Speak as you like. I'm not allowing you any chances of charming my Trainer!>

-Ichtacya leaps to the air and unleashes some Razor Leaves again. Maekrite endures the attack and charges, roaring, but Ichtacya is quick to dig her paws on the ground upon landing and throw some sand around-

-However, to her surprise, the Nidorino doesn't look affected, and Ichtacya has to leap away to avoid a Horn Attack aimed to her neck-

Maekrite — <You are going to stand down you like it or not!> — turns around, leaps to the side.

Ichtacya — <You better think about this twice! You should know Pleo has been returned to Lugia.> — charges an Energy Ball — <Whatever you are trying to do, you are alone now!>

-Ichtacya fires her Energy Ball, however Maekrite is quick to charge up a Sludge Bomb to counter. Both attacks collide, pressing each other for a moment, with the Poison-type energy easily beating the Grass-type energy-

-The two attacks explode in a shower of poison and grass energy that bathes both opponents. However, Ichtacya's Leaf Guard Ability activates and she quickly synthesizes enough energy to move the spilled poison out of her system-

-Not far from there, the noise caused by the combat calls Copahue and Shahinne's attention from their search around some trees and they decide to go inspect what is going on, with me promptly following-

Ichtacya — <You won't have an easy ti- eh?> — looks around, not seeing Maekrite before her.

-Suddenly, Maekrite emerges from a thicket at her side and fires an Ice Beam at Ichtacya, blasting her a couple of meters away. As Ichtacya tries to stand up, the Nidorino charges to ram her, further pushing her around-

Ichtacya — <...Aaaagh!> — stands up, swipes at the Nidorino — <You better surrender! All your allies have abandoned you, or been crushed in combat!>

Maekrite — <Rrrrrrr...!> — swings horn, slams the Leafeon — <I'll make you surrender and then I'll beat some sense on to you!>

-The two Pokémon ram each other with tackles, quick-attacks, horn attacks, scratches and swipes for a while, before moving off each other. Then they start circling each other as they prepare some attacks-

"(*yawn*) The rest of you guys doing alright?"

<Milo: "I can't believe you fell asleep!">

<Sonny: "So 'e had a little sense? Something wrong with 'dat, otter?">

<Lardna: "Yeah, not EVERYONE can pull all-nighters all the time, you know!">

<Courtney: "Mmm hmm hmm... So what are you supposed to be?">

-Notices Courtney's outfit-

<Nadia: "(*twitch twitch*) ... You did that on purpose didn't you?">

<Audrey: "Um... Yeah, pretty much...">

<Courtney: "Mmm hmm hmm... Get over it.">

<Nadia: "Let's see how smug you are when you don't have those miserable feathers of yours!">

-They both giggle like school children, as someone picks up a phone far away-

Mewtwo: <Hello...?>

Tornadus: <Er-hem... Hello, is this Seymour Buttes?>

Thundurus: <Oh, man, he's on to us.>

-Mewtwo's vision suddenly becomes only filled with images of rear ends-

-Mewtwo slams his phone shut before psychically fixing the distortion in space affecting his vision-

-Mewtwo then calls Landorus-

Tornadus: <That was awesome!>

Thundurus: <Yeah, who next? I have one I really wanna try out!>

Tornadus: <Maybe we could get ol' Landy-candy?>

Thundurus: <Dude, he'd ground us epically if we did that...>

Landorus: <You mean like you already are?>

Both pranksters: <...>

-Landorus grabs both of them by the ear and begins dragging them away, causing them to drop the phone on the roof in the process-

Both pranksters: <Ow! Hey! We don't go grabbing your ears! Except those twelve times...>

-Landorus warps them all back to... whatever realm they go to-

Charizard!Basket: -hiding in one of the side stairwells- All right, Lake, Nadia, you guys in position?

...right, they aren't in on this telepathy yet.

<Charizard!Teala: "There they are... Do we try and get their attention...?">

...Fightin? But Ichtacya went that way... oh hraka hraka hraka...

-I'm rushing to the fountain on the other end of the park, following Copahue and Shahinne who are flying there. There's the sound of cracking thunder and some smoke coming from that direction, and then an explosion and the sound of something cracking and breaking. Then, as Copahue clamps Shahinne to prevent her from running into danger first, I can hear Ichtacya and Maekrite's voices-

Ichtacya — <*gasp* ...Ah... You leave me no choice... I have to finish this...>

-There a large vapor curtain covering the battlefield. Maekrite appears at a side of the fountain and fires a Thunderbolt at the water again, evaporating more and causing Ichtacya, who was drawing near, to scream. Then Maekrite is surprisingly hit by an Iron Tail that causes to flinch. As they move off each other, I realize Ichtacya has taken too much damage, her body showcasing several small cuts that can only be from a poison sting barrage. Maekrite has a large cut on his face, and several scratches and bite marks on his flank-

Maekrite -moves to a side — <Look, you fought a good fight. You can rest a bit, or rest forever.> — assumes Army-style battle position.

Ichtacya -casts a Swords Dance upon herself — <I can't do that...>

Maekrite — <If you refuse to listen...>

-Both Pokémon glare and prepare to lunge at each other again-

Copahue — <Oh, no! We have to go help!>

Shahinne — <Ichtacya! Mister teammate! No!>

-Before I can produce their Pokéballs, Ichtacya and Maekrite rush at each other, with the Leafeon releasing an Energy Ball and jumping ahead of it to charge with a max-attack X-Scissor, and her tail glowing with Steel power as well. However, Maekrite, realizing how Ichtacya intends to cover her attack, blasts the Energy Ball with an Ice Beam and then brakes to let himself be slammed by the X-Scissor, that pierces his left flank-

Shahinne — <No! Teammates no!>

-I pick up Ichtacya's ball and aim it at her, but the recall beam misses as in that very moment, Maekrite, taking advantage of the mutual momentum, clamps Ichtacya's leg and turns around with all his strength. Before Ichtacya can react, she is swung in the air and tossed against the fountain's statue-

Copahue — <...Ack! Oh no, Ichtacya!>

-Ichtacya crashes against the statue, leaving a large dent, and falls to the ground, twitching in pain as she has hit the statue with her spine. She falls into the water-

-Maekrite starts charging a Thunderbolt, so I decide to fetch the Moon Ball and recall him. However, before that happens...-

Copahue — <Wait! Shahinne! Don't go in there!>

-Copahue chases after Shahinne, who has freed herself from the Fearow's grip to fly towards the two Pokemon. To Copahue's initial horror and then surprise, Shahinne lands peacefully in front of Maekrite and chirps to him-

Shahinne — <...Why are teammates fighting? Mister teammate, why are you attacking Ichtacya?>

-Maekrite looks at Shahinne surprised, flattening his ears, and relaxes himself. Then he looks around to see Copahue and me approaching-

Ichtacya — <...No, Shahinne! get out of there!> — barely manages to stand up, bares her fangs.

Shahinne — <But you are all fighting!>

Maekrite — <...Shahinne...>

-Shahinne suddely leaps to Maekrite's face and hugs him as tightly as she can with her small body-

Shahinne — <I missed you!>

-Ichtacya and Copahue stand up, surprised, and Maekrite tries to lick Shahinne, who starts nagging him and pecking him softly-

Shahinne — <Haven't seen you since the big, beautiful bird~>

Maekrite — <...I'm sorry...>

-I come along the two surprised Pokémon, and pick Ichtacya up. They of course ask what is going on-

— Well... Ichtacya? Copahue? Meet Maekrite. The team leader.

Ichtacya — <...What?>

Copahue — <...This... this one is the Pokémon you refused to let out?>

— It's complicated. Now... all of you, come here...

-I get a couple of potions and apply them to Ichtacya, who is having difficulty moving. Maekrite simply stands there, avoiding my gaze while letting Shahinne chatter about a lot of inconsequential stuff like Pidgeys offering her a nut bag that she feels happy talking about anyway-

— What about you, Maekrite? Where the heck have you been?

-Maekrite drops his head, then steps back when I try to apply a potion to him, apparently scared-

Maekrite — <I... I was...>

Ichtacya — <I thought he was the Delta the Wurmples talked about... when I saw him shining with a strange glow, I thought something was wrong...>

— ...I can explain that later...

-I have Copahue take care of Shahinne again, then wrestle with Maekrite for a moment to get him to accept some potion spray. When I instruct them to follow me to go back to the others, Maekrite starts crying in silence-

Copahue -in a low voice, to Ichtacya — <...That is our team leader?>

Ichtacya — <At the moment, that's the least important of my questions... ugh...>

Copahue -tilts head, examines the Nidorino — <But he looks so wimpy...>

-Ichtacya bares her teeth at Copahue, as if to remind him who was the one doing the battling, and Copahue coos, retreating behind Shahinne-

-Lake lets out a sigh.-

Lake: <Shaun's right, just ignore her, Nadia. She's only doing it to wind you up.

So, not long now until basket kicks this whole thing off. I'm still not sure I'm so keen on this...Or maybe I should stop worrying so much? All I'm really going to do is spend a little while as a Charizard. Which is could be an interesting change, I guess.

But I do find it ironic that after spending the past month or so fighting a Charizard, I'm actually going to become one myself. Makes me wonder what Ferno would think of it...>
