<Vesta: "Otherwise this Resistance would have been in great danger...">

<Lardna: "... So what do we do now?">

Sunny: <Oh, of course we should. What did you have in mind?>

Well, I still need to get Flare and Wulfric. Can one of you guys do that for me?

Lake: <I will.>

All right, Lake. They should still be in the Dragon Spiral Tower.

Lake: <Right, I'll be back in a minute then.>

-Lake heads off through the Portal to the Tower.-

Treeo: <What should the rest of us do?>

Um...Maybe we should take a break for a bit?

Unite: <Well for a start, we need to keep this a secret from Napoleon and Scolermis. If they find out we have these two...>

Reshiram: The consequences would be dire.

Zekrom: Yeah. We'd have both of their armies after us.

Unite: <So we need to wait unitl just the right moment...>

Zekrom: That doesn't mean I won't be able to do anything though. I can still help with small scale stuff.

Reshiram: Just try not to attract too much attention, and you should be fine.

Shadow: <You probably won't be able to stay hidden for very long.>

Sunny: <But we should try to lie low as long as we can. You can do that, right, Zekrom?>

Zekrom: -Nods.- I may be large, but I'm very good at staying hidden when I want to. As is Reshiram here.

Reshiram: -Blushes slightly.-

Unite: <Heh, That's a good start. Now we just need to think about when the best time to actually use you two would be...>

Lake: -Emerges through the portal.- <Hello?>

Scolipede: -Pops out from behind a pillar.- <Lake?>

Lake: <Scolipede?>

Scolipede: -Scurries over.- <Hi. Are you back at the base now?>

Lake: <Yeah, we're all back at the Entralink now. I'm just hear to get you, Wulfric and Flare. Have you seen them anywhere?>

Scolipede: <That's the thing...They sort of went of on their own...> -Listens.- <Oh, wait! I think they're coming back now!>

-Sure enough, Flare and Wulfric enter the room. The thing is, though, that they look rather messy.-

Flare: <That was fun...>

Wulfric: <Yeah...It was.>

Lake: <Guys?>

-Shocked, the two turn to look at Lake, both looking rather awkward.-

Flare: <Oh!

Wulfric: <...Hi Lake...>

Flare: <Didn't expect to see you back here yet...>

Wulfric: <...Yeah...>

Lake: -Stares blankly.- <...Right. Anyway, we're back from our mission. I just came to bring you to the Entralink.>

Flare: <Oh, cool! Let's get going then.>

Wulfric: <Yes...Let's.>

-Flare and Wulfric head through the Portal. Lake and Scolipede give each other a "What's up with them?" look before following.-

-Vinollo and a Pidgeotto approach Maekrite and I, pointing us to a guard who holds a TM disc-

Vinollo — <As you return home you will be granted a new Technique, Maekrite, but, in the meantime, there is something you must assist the Owsla with.>

Maekrite (bows) — <What is requested of me?>

Vinollo — <Just that you fulfill your duty to beyond the extent of your ability.> — gestures to the Pidgeotto — <Which is why we have brought this...>

-The Pidgeotto flies above lands on top of the Nidorino, carefully handling a round object of black and blue colouration; at the sight of the object, Maekrite flinches slightly-

Maekrite — <That's for...>

— ...Is this, for me?

Vinollo (nods) — <Our secret guard has been built strong thanks to you, Silent, strong enough that our members shall not meet the darkness beyond a Pokéball...>

Right... those trackers... they had a medical purpose, but I see they have managed to trick me into pick the adequate specimens...

<...however, for Maekrite to fulfill his assignment it is necessary that he can walk in your world as any other of your partners would.>

-The Pidgeotto offers the Moon Ball to me, and I take it hesitantly-

— Well... in the other... uh, he does...

-Vinollo drops an ear at my hesitation, but decides to wait; my mind flashes to the day Maekrite joined me in the other timeline; that time, the Nidorino who greeted me at the border also had procured a Pokéball they had obtained somehow-

— ...So am I supposed to catch Maekrite using this?

Maekrite — <...What?> — turns to Vinollo — <But... you are serious, leader?>

Vinollo — <Very serious.> — paces around — <After some discussion, the situation our human has found himself in merits forbearing the requisite that we walk free... as in your world, the definition of freedom itself is changed.>

Maekrite (bows) — <...Everything is permitted.>

-Vinollo nods and then retreats; the guard gives me the TM and does the same-

Vinollo — <While not an assignment by the Owsla, this is what you have been fated to do for the welfare of the Colony.> — bows to us — <Protect our human from his enemies.>

-Maekrite ponders for a moment, then turns to me and flatly sits on the ground-

Maekrite — <It's OK... this is what I want.>

— ...You sure?

Maekrite (chuckles) — <Sure. We will be finally reunited...>

-I hesitate for a moment, then examine the device, which seems to be unmarked and in perfect conditions. Then, with a simple gesture, I bounce the Moon Ball off Maekrite's shoulder. As he vanishes into the beam, his sight turns for a brief instant to the bushes where a female Nidoran is watching-

"Though we ask our followers to abandon this safety, we do not ask that they abandon our Oath."

...

One shake...

"THIS is what makes us the Owsla. Not walking into the shadows, impervious to human capture. Not the branding of our paws. Not the flayrah."

Vinollo — <It is done.> — gives me a half-hearted Leer — <You take good care of him, too.>

-The leading Nidorino and the guards vanish into the shadows, as the female does, leaving me alone with a Moon Ball lying motionless on the ground-

Maekrite... I'm your Trainer now.

Today, Vermillion Pokémon Center

-A couple of naturalists and a research team are getting things ready for a surprise expedition to the islands to the south, but they seem to be running into some logistic issues-

Researcher #1 — ...We're just one hour away to part! We have to find someone who knows how to operate these devices!

Researcher #2 (tired) — I looked around everywhere... but no one has spare personnel and PEFE has not answered our call from last week.

Researcher #3 — Darn it... this is the migration of the century... What can we do...?

-They think for a moment, then one of them suddenly points at the window-

Researcher #2 — Hey! Look there! It's our lucky day!

-The others turn around to see "Tangent" and "Tagg" across the street, walking past the Pokémon center while eating a churrasco of picanha and some sausages...-

Researcher #1 — He's here! — starts grabbing some notes — Don't let him go away! We probably can get them into our expedition!

-Some mayhem ensues while the researchers and their assistants start packing things up and three of them go chase Tagg and Tangent down the road-

"Dr. Tagg! Here!"

-One of the Zoroarks turns to the other-

"Tangent" (blinks) — <"Dr". Tagg?>

"Please, just wait for a moment!"

"Bear with me just for a minute!"

"It's a great honor!"

-The Zoroarks in disguise turn around, and before they can do anything they are surrounded by assistants who (respectfully keeping their distance) try to convince them, fetch autographs and kinda sorta drag them back to the Pokémon Center-

-Flames roar as the resistance forces fight a losing battle against a numerically superior enemy-

Random Pokemon #1: -On a radio <He just keeps on coming! We need support right now!>

-Explosion nearby-

<He's almost upon us, I repeat we need support, we need supp->

-Radio cuts off as the sound of a keratin blade fills the air-

-Various Electric and Grass type Pokemon attempt to subdue what appears to be a seven foot tall armored Samurott, all to no avail-

Giant Samurott: -Bats aside a Grovyle so hard that it probably broke its neck upon impact with the wall- <WEAKLINGS! ALL SHALL BOW TO THE MIGHT OF SCOLIPEDE AND LIEPARD!>

-Ices his keratin blades and jumps into the fray of plain frightened Pokemon, slashing everywhere and reacting to the various super effective moves as if they were mosquito bites-

-About an hour later-

Giant Samurott: -Is holding the unconscious, battered body of the Angela resistance leader- <With their leader gone, and their forces battered, the Angela region has finally fallen to us!>

-A Zoroark walks up to the Samurott-

Zoroark: <Lanius, we have word coming in from the leadership.>

Lanius: <What is it Vulpes?>

Vulpes Inculta: <They want us back in Unova since something big is being planned.>

Lanius: -Still holding the leader and sounding rather dissapointed- <It's a good thing your underhanded plan worked Vulpes, though I would rather have fought them at full strength.>

Vulpes Inculta: <We've already put the woman and children into slavery, and I suppose we'll be doing the usual for the defenders.>

Lanius: <That is correct Vulpes.>

-To a nearby Throh while pointing to the resistance leader in his paw-

<Lash this degenerate and the others on crosses. After that, we're heading back to Unova to see what our leaders want.>

Throh: -Is absolutely frightened and appalled but lacks the courage to disobey after seeing what happens to those that do- <Y-Yes sir.>

-Takes the resistance leader away-

Lanius: -To the retreating Throh <Good, otherwise you'll be joining them, or I'll just beat you to death myself.>

Vulpes Inculta: <That Serperior and Dragonite will be there as well.>

Lanius: -Musing to the screams of the injured and dying- <Obviously this will be something big if they're bringing all three of us.>

Artemis: (pacing around in the throne room) <Oh, why is nothing going our way? Most of the Zoroark have been exposed, no one knows where the Resistance is hiding out, that stupid pig is trying to steal Unova from us and now I hear that Reshiram has awakened?>

Mira: <...>

Artemis: <Nya-ha-ha-ha... Everything is going wrong! Nya-ha-ha-ha! Everything!> (eye twitches slightly) <Can you believe it, Mienshao?> (smiles, eye still twitching)

Mira: (thinking) Oh dear... The queen is losing her mind... (walks over to Artemis and starts petting her) <Relax, my queen. I am certain that we will be able to turn this around in our favor.>

Artemis: <H-how? The Resistance's got a legendary Pokémon on their side!>

Mira: (scratching Artemis behind the ears while making a shushing sound) <Relax, everything will be okay.>

Artemis: (lays down) <At least you'll never leave me, Mienshao... You're so strong, and loyal and...> (starts purring contently) <Ooh, that feels good...>

Mira: (relieved sigh, continues scratching behind Artemis' ears while thinking to herself) Ah, that is better. One simply can not make good decisions if one is not thinking clearly.

-Zero and Crescent are setting up a sign in the Entree Forest to try to get some of the mons in it to join the Resistance. It doesn't appear to be doing anything-

Clamperl:<What Resistance?>

Taillow:<What are we resisting?>

Slowpoke:-Is carefully reading the sign-

Clamperl-Hops away from the sign-

Taillow:-Follows Clamperl-

<Vesta: "Well, Lake said that he was going to look for a Lucario who could help...">

<Kyle: "I wonder what we're going to do after we win this thing...? I mean... We'll have pushed out that bug and cat... But what about Hoenn? And Sinnoh?">

<Toothless: "We haven't won yet, Kyle...">

<Jodie: "Why is it that I feel as if I've just missed out on something that I would have wanted to see?">

Normal Thoughts: <Okay... There must be something I can do without leaving the town or chasm...>

White Thoughts: <You're still a Soul of Silver.>

Normal Thoughts: <I am aren't I?>

Black Thoughts: <Are you really suggesting that he tries to mentally contact a legendary? It seems most of them are trapped or dead or never existed in the first place.>

-Zekrom suddenly gets the sensation of three voices talking in his head at once.-

-Meanwhile, Lake returns with Flare, Wulfric and Scolipede, who scurries off to find Treeo.-

Lake: <Here they are.>

Well done Lake. Hey guys. Things okay at the tower?

Wulfric: <...Yeah...>

Flare: <They were great. Just great.>

Cool. Anyway, I need your help with something Wulfric. We're going to be going to the Orange and Sevii Islands to try and find the missing Gym Leaders. Do you think that you'll be able to use your Aura to help track them down?

Wulfric: <Oh...Yes, of course I will.>

Great. Thanks buddy. You're going to be a huge help.

-Gets a bit of a headache, attempts to sort the message from the static-

-Crowbar sees Napoleon wearing his new coat-

<Napoleon>: <Why yes I do. It's rather dashing isn't it? Made out of the finest fur possible>

-Crowbar points to a part of the coat that looks like it's been singed-

<Crowbar>: <This part looks like it's been incinerated, by a wayward flame I say..>

<Napoleon>: <Oh that? That was just my carelessness, nothing more than that.>

<Crowbar>: <(Thinking) Sure it was. First you sent my best friend to the skinner then you go around parading in his skin!>

-Napoleon observes Crowbars distrustfulness-

<Napoleon>: <I have a feeling that you're not pleased with me right now. Care to explain?>

<Crowbar>: <It's nothing sir.>

<Napoleon>: <I hope it is.>

-Napoleon and Crowbar watch a savage brawl between a Zoroark and Mandibuzz-

<Napoleon>: <Good, because soon, Driftveil will be ours. And nobody will stop us>

Sunny has been revealed as the Hero of Ideals, Zekrom has been awakened, something with a bridge, Napoleon has a new coat, Angela has been run over by that Samurott general, the plans for Unova evac are going on course, Pentigan contacted Zekrom, and Maekrite is now my Pokémon again

What's going on? I have no clue what's happened in the world. Why was I in that prison? Why is Scolipede apparently in charge. Why are there all these Pokemon here? Nobody's filled me in on anything!
