-All the Nidorina gather to discuss what the "stimulation" might be, while Inka stares at Luke with a mixture of hatred and distrust; then she turns away and walks to the others-

Mayonaka — <Let's take them both closer to the city... Surely they'd interact better there than here.>

Inka — <But...> — grunts, shuts up — <yes... I'll go fetch Silent. Please lead the human to the south path.> — walks away.

-The Nidorinas call four guards, who stand besides Luke and his mons-

Nidorino guard (to Luke) — <Walk, ithé. You have been awarded a meeting with Silent...>

-Meanwhile I'm at a hill trying to get some signal. I finally can dial the number of the cave, but I'm sent to the voice box.-

-to Tagg-

Dëvich — Well there's errors in several invoices... most particularly the wild specimens fetching program for the artificial habitats. It shows payments to employees to make deliveries by four containers in and four out, but there are no registered hires and the fuel and Customs bills only add up to two containers per side.

-Thinks for a moment-

— ...And there's also something really weird going on with the medical data. Like, there has been no record of resupply from the usual Pokémon Centers in, like, three weeks. — turns to the others — We're kinda afraid that there's something wrong with the specimens we have been sending.

Unite: <Yeah, it's kinda' complicated. See, we're all having the same dream, which is how me and Woolly can be here talking to you.>

Woolly: <Yep. It's cool, isn't it?>

-Lake and Cinder follow close to me, slightly weary of the Nidorino guards.-

Cinder: <Grr...>

Lake: <What now?>

Cinder: <I don't like the look that "Inka" gave Luke. If you ask me, she's asking for it.>

Lake: <Cinder, I certainly hope you don't attack everyone who even so much as looks at Luke funny...>

-when she returns, I slowly get out of bed, and head to the bathroom to change-

-Dëvich continues talking with Tagg-

— Wouldn't you by any chance have a backdoor access to the habitat video records? We'd like to get a live or archived view of what is really happening there...

Woolly: <Oh! A few things about the Dream World first, though Okay, you see this plot of land you're standing on? If you use your imagination...You can make the perfect home for yourself!>

Unite: <Yep! Everymon here in the Dream World has their own home. Even me and Woolly.>

Woolly: <Also, you can fly here! Look!>

-Woolly hovers a few meters off the ground.-

Unite: <Which is why she looks like a cloud right now. A bit like you, in fact! Hey, Woolly? Are you sure you two aren't related?>

-Woolly looks away, sheepishly.-

Nidoran Colony

-After hanging the call, I start up my laptop expecting a videocall back; then I see Inka and the Nidorina bringing up a human-

— Inka? What is going on? — look at Luke — Is that the human who the guards captured?

Mayonaka — <Silent? This human... claims to know you. He's special just like you.>

-Inka stays back, worried, while the Nidorina lead Luke and his mons forward to meet me.

Nidocave

-After fetching the code and hanging up the call, the interns pick a missing call from me and stream it to the laptop in my training material as they watch themselves-

Orenda (gasps, covers mouth) — This... This is happening in the headquarters?

Dëvich — Oh Arceus... Look at those poor Tropius...

Rodríguez — What the F*CK is going on there...!

Orenda — Cipher...? Cyrus...? Maybe they took over!

Dëvich — Uh oh... the Nidorans...

Orenda — Are those machines extracting...?

Really, Luke? You had to say that your Ampharos looks sheepish?

Whimsicott: <Hey, that's pretty cool. I've gotta tell the other resistance members about this place sometime!>

... My legs are tired from walking again.

Somehow, just pursuing that one glimmer of hope makes me feel as if I still have some purpose...

-Decides to look at the videos for himself on his laptop-

What the fuck is going on here? I thought we took down Pokefutures, Inc. because of shit like this, and now someone in our own organization is perpetrating these atrocities.

-Stands up-

Okay, moment of truth.

-Me, Lake, and Cinder step forward, gingerly.-

Cinder: <Hey! He might of! We're the ones who drove Team Rocket out of Johto once and for all!>

Well...Yeah, there's that. Anyway, we've never met, but I know who you are. Well, me and Lake here, do.

But listen. Something terrible has happened, and things haven't turned out the way they should have. Me and you never met, along with a whole bunch of other people who should have. And because of that, this world has been ruined.

But we can make this right again. We just need you to help us, as we can't do it alone.

Lake: <Please, Silent. You were my friend, too. We really need your help. We need everyone's help!>

-To Tagg-

"Ugh... That feed's going to haunt my dreams... Let's stop by the house though. I've got a feeling that I'm going to need all the help that I can get..."

-Begins to leave hospital-

-steps out of the bathroom-

-Decided to forgo a shirt in favour of the bandages wrapped around my torso and left shoulder. I'm wearing a black leather jacket over top of them, as well as a battered-looking pair of jeans. My bag is slung over one of my shoulders, and the bandages are still wrapped over my right eye. I used the knife in my bag to cut my hair shorter. Rather than falling behind my shoulders, it now reaches just below my ears.-

Very well. Send out orders to get the new recuits to surround Pinwheel Forest and prepare for an all out attack. This is the forestwe're talking about here, a rush just won't work.
