-Present Day-

"It's getting late, I guess that we should head back... Oh! I just realized! You and Lardna haven't gotten to ride back to a hotel in the ZERO-ONE yet, Milo!"

<Milo: "Gee, thanks for remembering, Tracer...">

"Are Nadia and Vlad still flying?"

<Shaun: "Nope. I assume that they must be in the plaza waiting for us...">

-After a short walk to the plaza, my party and I encounter Vlad and Nadia by an idle ZERO-ONE-

<Vlad: "(*yawns*) What took you so long?">

"Sorry about that, the matches went on longer than we expected. Did you two grow bored?"

<Nadia: "Nah, too (*yawns*) tired...">

"I guess we should head to a hotel then, did you two want to fly with us?"

<Nadia: "Nah, I think that I should take it easy...">

<Vlad: "As much as I can't believe I'm saying this, but same here...">

"Okay then..."

-Recalls all members of team other than Lardna and Milo and boards the ZERO-ONE with them before driving off to a hotel-

-Sometime earlier-

<Red Skull: "The last trainer and his Pokemon shall go next. The Gliscor will go first, Bark-Stripe shall throw.">

-To Kat-

<Vlad: "W-Wait, what do I do?!">

<Kat: "Just let these miserable excuses for elders throw their bones at you, if they come up with a punishment that's too harsh, just glide away.">

<Vlad: "O-O-Okay...">

<Bark-Stripe: "May the dead be harsh in their dealings with you...">

<Vlad: "Eep!">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-The bone sails towards Vlad, who catches it with a pedipalp-

<Iron Marrow: "He caught the bone! Death by crushing!">

<Vlad: " WHAT?! ">

<"Scythe Bone": "Wait, how am I supposed to handle him again?">

-Vlad drops the bone out of shock-

<Iron Marrow: "Oh wait, he dropped it... An hour of community service!">

<Bark-Stripe: "WHAT.">

-A few concerned murmurs go about the audience-

<Iron Marrow: "Those are the rules, that is as the dead have decreed...">

<"Scythe Bone": "Great! Makes my job a lot easier!">

-To Self-

<Kat: "Wow... I didn't think it was possible, but they're worse than those morons on Quest Island...">

<Red Skull: "Rising Star, you may throw at the Salamence.">

-To Rising Star, glaring-

<Nadia: "If that thing touches me, I'll make you eat it. And not in small bites either.">

<Rising Star: "D-Don't try to interfere with the will of the dead!">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-Rising Star readies the bone to be thrown and is mid-stride to throw it-

<Nadia: "(*gives a loud, bellowing roar*)">

-A number of onlookers shrink back away from their positions, obviously unsettled by Nadia-

<"Hash and Pound": "EEEEEP!">

<"Blue Bucket": "I th-think I just h-had an accident...">

-Rising Star recoils and releases the bone early, which sails off and returns, missing Nadia entirely-

<Iron Marrow: "Didn't connect and the defendant didn't budge! The dead want nothing to do with you, leave and go far, far away from this place.">

<Nadia: "Gladly.">

<Red Skull: "The... Erm... What is she again?">

-Visibly annoyed-

<Lardna: "I'm an Emboar.">

<Red Skull: "Right, the Emboar shall go next. Scythe Bone shall throw.">

<"Scythe Bone": "Oh, sweet!">

<Lardna: "Can we just get this over with?">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-Scythe Bone's throw glances off of the burning portion of Lardna's neck, arcs up into a tree and sets it on fire before falling to the ground burning-

<"Scythe Bone": "AAAAAGGGGHHH! THAT WAS A FAMILY HEIRLOOM!">

-Milo quickly puts out the flames in the trees and on the bone with Hydro Pump, while Scythe Bone retrieves the damaged bone-

<"Scythe Bone": "Aw man... The surface is all charred...">

<Iron Marrow: "The bone caught on fire! The defendant must stand still until the end of the day!">

-To Me-

<Kat: "Let me guess, the day ends in 10 minutes.">

"Actually, 8..."

<Kat: "Figured...">

<Red Skull: "The Floatzel shall go next. I will be throwing.">

<Kat: "What.">

<Red Skull: "You didn't honestly think that I just sat here all the time did you?">

-Gets ready to throw his bone at Milo-

-An awkward pause-

<Red Skull: "Someone say 'THROW!' already!">

<Iron Marrow: "THROW!">

-Red Skull throws a bone at Milo, who deflects it by inflating his flotation sac, causing it to bounce off an strike and knock over an unlucky observer-

<Unlucky Cubone: "Ooog...">

<Milo: "Heh, the sheep's advice actually worked!">

<Iron Marrow: "The bone struck a Pokemon other than the defendant! That Pokemon must be judged!">

<Kat: "WHAT.">

<Unlucky Cubone: "Aww...">

<Kat: "You can't be serious...">

<Iron Marrow: "The dead have spoken, and their proclamation is that the Pokemon struck must sleep when he or she normally is awake and be awake when he or she is normally asleep for a week.">

-Kat facepalms-

<Red Skull: "The Ampharos is next. Iron Marrow will throw.">

<Iron Marrow: "With pleasure.">

<Shaun: "Oh boy...">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-Iron Marrow throws a bone at Shaun, which clips a "fist"-

<Shaun: "OW!">

-On its return the bone clips his other "fist"-

<Shaun: "OW!">

<Iron Marrow: "Both fists were hit! The defendant must learn how to walk on his hands!">

<Shaun: "I don't have hands!">

<Red Skull: "The human will go next, Double Stripe shall throw.">

<Double Stripe: "Wait, again? Awesome!">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-Double Stripe lobs the bone at me, which misses on its first pass, but knocks me in the back of the head and causes me to faceplant on its return-

"Oww..."

<Iron Marrow: "Head shot on the return! And the defendant fell over forwards! The defendant must... ... Come here again? Is that right?">

<Bark-Stripe: "Well it is in the lore... So it must be a valid ruling by the dead...">

<Iron Marrow: "I suppose...">

"Of all of the days not to bring pain relievers..."

<Red Skull: "The Marowak from Kanto shall go next! The thrower will be-">

<Iron Marrow: "Will be me. I will administer this trial personally.">

<Kat: "Bring it, you miserable crone...">

<Iron Marrow: "Ah-ah. I'll be administering the trial with your bone. Time to see if those savages in that land that you hail from have remembered anything worthwhile about maintaining their bones.">

-Fuming-

<Kat: "OVER MY LIFELESS BODY YOU WILL! IF YOU'RE GOING TO CARRY OUT THIS INANE MOCKERY OF ATTEMPTING TO APPEASE THE DEAD, CARRY IT OUT WITH YOUR OWN BONE!">

"Kat... Please? It'll just be a short while... For me?"

<Kat: "(*seething*) FINE!">

-Hurls bone at feet of Iron Marrow-

<Iron Marrow: "So I see that you and your savage brethren have become weak in resolve...">

<Kat: "And I see that you and your brethren have been developing vapor for brains under those skulls of yours!">

<Iron Marrow: "I tire of this, savage. It is time for the dead to decide your fate.">

<Red Skull: "THROW!">

-Lobs Kat's bone, which strikes Kat in the head on its first pass, but is caught by Kat on its return-

-Kat attempts to rush Iron Marrow but is physically restrained by the rest of my team-

<Kat: "LET ME GO SMASH THAT CRONE'S SKULL IN!">

<Vlad: "Kat! Calm down! They outnumber us!">

<Milo: "Yeah, and we still need to get Tangent's Pokemon back!">

<Iron Marrow: "And the dead have ruled... 'Start an exchange program?' How'd THAT get in the lore?">

-Gets stares from rest of team-

<Kat: "Yeah, not happening, crone...">

There's a bit of a thunderstorm going on outside, so I'm not going to be here for a little while.

Okay, I'm back now. The weather seems to have calmed down, for now at least.

- Wakes up, the first thing I do is put on my glasses and check what time it is on my Poketch -

(thinking) Hmm... Guess it is time to get up. I think my second battle might be later today, so I should probably go get myself ready...

I can probably do my battle today. I'm stuck at home again. : (

-is outside the arena, practicing with my team and double-checking hold items-

- Has finished brushing my hair, is now putting on the necessary make-up to cover up the zits on my face -

(thinking) Seems to be a lot of them now... I know what that means... (sighs) Well... That's just a minor annoyance. Nothing I really need to worry about.

Wulfric: <I think Luke's freaking out a little.>

Unite: <Really? I wonder what could have given you THAT idea?>

Wulfric: <Hey...There's no need to be snarky.>

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!

But I'm really worried now. Mr. Fuji came THIS close to beating us! I dread to think what our next opponent if going to be able to do to us!

Flare: <Come on Luke! That's a pretty defeatist attitude you're taking here! Who's to say that you won't win against this next guy?>

Sol: <Flare has a point. Your last battle didn't exactly go as smoothly as normal. Ad Min being rendered useless by Gengar's Hypnosis and Dream Eater combo, and Stratus being struck by Thunder twice were two major contributing factors here.>

Flare: <TOO MANY WORDS! Could you speak in Monese for once, please?>

Sol: <It's what we call our language. Fine. The point we're trying to make Luke, is that you were rather unlucky in the last battle, and that may not be the case this time.>

Yeah, but it wasn't luck. Mr. Fuji knew full well what he was doing. And if he's only a 7.5, I hate too think what a 9 or 10 would fight like. And it's very likely we're going to fight one next...

- Walking down a hallway, thinking to myself -

I have to try to focus on the match... Even though I'm pretty sure I can win this, I have to stay focused. The person I'll be facing seems pretty tough, and even if Mira has a type advantage over most of his team, I must stay focused so I don't make a mistake...

- Sighs -

Even though I have a lot on my mind these days, such as not fully knowing what will happen with Dialga, what I must do to prevent my nightmares from coming true, that I have not yet had that talk with Jane... I must try to forget all that for now, and focus on my upcoming battle.

I should try to give my other Pokémon some time in the spotlight as well... I can probably have Chase take care of the Scrafty... And...
