Dawson, Slliuq, Jones, and the Togedemaru's eyes shut.

Chum's and Copper's eyes don't shut, but they watch the others.

Amos is looking away, having no time for this.

-Kai is waiting by the Pokemon Center. Unlike usual, she's not wearing the big Tactician Coat she normally wears. Instead, she's opted for a black button-down shirt partially opened over a purple shirt, which earns more or less the same aesthetic on a more subtle scale.-

-Aesthetic.-

-A seemingly pure white Growlithe is sniffing at the ground near her feet.-

-From a meta standpoint, one can almost hear the quiet trill of piano keys that represent a cartoonish tiptoeing sound effect. Really, though, they're totally silent.-

-They manage to make it past the sleeping metal monster without trouble.-

-the wind kicks up briefly before a Dragonite plunges from the sky, swooping down to land on the roof of the Center so as not to blow anyone off their feet-

Brie: Hi!

-she slides down Atlantis's back, and then sends out Halcyon and climbs on, floating down to the ground-

Halcyon: <Evening.>

Brie: How's it going?

-Semigloss breathes a sigh of relief and proceeds along-

-Kai smiles as Brie shows up-

Kai: Hey! Nice to see you again~

-The Growlithe yips.-

Kai: I'm holding up pretty well now! It's nice to be back to a steady sensible weird-shenanigans-not-happening-on-a-daily-basis life, certainly. How are you holding up?

-They quickly skitter away from the Aggron and down the rest of the corridor.-

-Eventually, the sand does start to thin out, in the same odd geometric patterns that they saw coming in.-

Soleil: <Phew, we made it!>

Brie: I'm pretty good. I've been hanging out with my cousins, we've been keeping each other distracted for now. I'm sort of working on some things.

-she waves at the Growlithe-

Growlithe!Nix: <Hi! Kai figured looking like this might be easier to swallow than me being a bird.>

Kai: Yyyyeah. Anyway, what sort of things have you been working on?

-Soleil chirps-

Soleil: <Yeah! We're fine!>

Kattraea: <Ah, great! That's a huge relief. I'm not certain if it went through before, but finding and helping someone in real danger rather than following a signal for what you new to be nothing but a simulation exemplifies the exact values the Bronze Birds are looking for! I will have to clear it with the higher-ups of course to make it your new official mission parameters, but I think I can sweet-talk them well enough into allowing it~>

Soleil: <O-oh, wow! Thank you! Note to self, ask for tips on sweet-talking people.>

-Kattraea merely giggles from the other side.-

Amaterasu dropped the glow from her eyes and looked at her subjects. She bit her tongue and focused on what she had entranced them for.

<Now I want you to listen closely to my voice, its lilting tones relaxing your mind and body even further.

<As it attempts to drown out the words I’m saying, a part of you recognizes the source as Ratigan’s Tiara attempting to brainwash you.

Rei, Xatu and Sunny returned themselves, still in the positions they had adopted for their impromptu hypnosis session. Roy just stood up beside the now human Amaterasu, her shirt reading “寝”.

Amaterasu cleared her throat. “Now, I doubt doing it just once will work perfectly, but it’s better than nothing,” she offered.

Colt turned to look at the Porygon2 he hadn’t noticed. “My mistake,” he apologized as he hid himself in the shadows.

Brie: ...Oh.

-she seems nervous. Or possibly anxious-

-the point is, there's a measure of fear more than just awkwardness-

-with some effort, she refocuses on Kai-

Well, okay, so do you remember the news about the darkness over the Hoenn Safari Zone? It was this weird Ditto-ish thing (which means probably a Ditto is just the closest analogue our world has for it) with incredible endurance. I couldn't kill it and it escaped, so I'm keeping an eye on the news to deal with it whenever it pops up again. ^_^

Halcyon: <Ideally, we will have some form of a battle plan when this happens.>

-Semigloss starts as the radio comes back on-

Semigloss: <...Oh. Oh, wow.>

(to Igneous) <See? We're not kooks, we're heroes.>

EMPEROR: <Oh No! I love pistachios!.. What were you saying before that though?>

Achille: <I could kill you all and run. It would be a trifle.>

Jessica: "I know! Now where does your wife live?"

Achille: <She's not my wife anymore. I don't know where she or my children are.>

Cereza: <Considering your former profession, I would've thought you knew how to find peoplemons. Or do I have to do everything myself?>

Jessica: "I have some suspicions on where to look. Of course, if Achille wants to cooperate...we might get done sooner.>

Achille: <...Nimbasa.>

Jessica: "Thank you!"

-Achille mumbles something about "coerced by a girl who wasn't even alive when Team Rocket existed".-

Cereza: <How the mighty have fallen.>

-She winks cheekily at him before sauntering off after Jessica.-

Growlithe!Nix: <Oh, don't worry, you don't have to bow! My dad's the one who's all uptight about it, not me.>

-A look of concern crosses Kai's face, which only slightly recedes as the subject is changed.-

Kai: Hmm... I see. What do you know about it? I'd be happy to help form a plan to take it on. I'm not officially a member of the UB task force, but I have promised Anabel and Looker I'd help protect from universe-foreign threats when I'm able to just out of obligation. So, if you ever need help from a tactician...

-She smiles, winking.-

Kai: You know who to call.

-Soleil smirks a bird smirk at Igneous, who rolls his eyes.-

Igneous: <I told you, I had it under control.>

Soleil: <Sure. Anyway, should we still go find the DU?>

Kattraea: <Oh, yes. They're tracking where your signal appeared again just now and looking for you, so it should be easy enough. Besides, it's a good backup to actually finish the original mission parameters even if we do get strings pulled.>

-Brie blushes-

Halcyon: <Please try and focus.>

Brie: Right. Um. It's tough enough that only Hyper Beam, Z-moves, that sort of thing actually scratched it, and it can make minions that are just as durable. It might just be a question of having more monpower available, but I'm not really sure.

-she grins-

But I'm sure it'll work out. We've definitely faced worse odds, and we've always come out on top.

-she nods to Nix politely-

Semigloss: <Right!>

-she wiggles her antennae, and listens closely for the sound of beeping-

Kai: Aha. Barely scratching it, meaning some sort of defensive resistance rather than simply having a lot of stamina? What do you know of its attacking power?

Growlithe!Nix: <Ooh, boy, this is the first time I've really gotten to see you go full strategy nerd!>

-Sure enough, the sound of beeping is nearby, and easy enough to follow. As described, the source is indeed a DU modeled after a Farfetch'd — complete with a completely organic leek with a shovel head attached to the end.-

Farfetch'd DU: Hello! It is a relief to see you safe and sound. Might this Delta Pupitar be the one Captain Kattraea mentioned?

Igneous: <Definitely not.>

Soleil: <He is! He had some trouble with an Aggron and a quicksand pit.>

-The DU tilts their head.-

Farfetch'd DU: ...Quicksand? I was not aware that Granite Cave had any known quicksand pits.

Soleil: <Huh. Uncharted territory!>

 Channah's House 

-Comes inside-

Kinda dark in here.

Not sure if I should use Flash or Aura Sense...

...She'd probably think I was some sort of monster and throw something at my head. Or sic her mons on me. That wouldn't be fun.

Channah: Sorry. Heyo...

-she is still on her couch, looking tired and disheveled. She doesn't move to get up. Her hair is greasy, her clothes have rumples and deep creases in them, and she regards Tagg with a flat stare-

Channah: Hope I didn't interrupt anything important.

Brie: Uh...well, the minions it summoned ranged from "ow, but we drop healing energy when we die" to "can punch you across a room with limited effort". Nobody on my team actually took one of its attacks, thank Lugia—

-she gives Nix a sideways glance, wondering if that's a safe thing to say in this context-

—but if I had to guess it's probably pretty strong? It was certainly fast enough to be.

-Semigloss chirps happily-

Semigloss: <It was pretty cool! There was sand everywhere and I cleaned up some of it!>

 Channah's House 

-Slightly concerned, though it's kinda hard to tell since it's dark-

Has she bathed since the last time we talked... might be kinda rude to ask, and she's kinda looking right at me so sniffing would be bad.

-Sitting down-

Nah, not unless you have opinions on whether or not birds should be allowed to bear arms.

-They keep walking. Jessica stops and backpedals, looking into a TFC.-

Jessica: "Achille? Isn't one of them a Jolteon?"

Achille: <Yes. Why?>

-Jessica points at a Jolteon in the TFC. Achille looks at the Jolteon and sighs.-

Achille: <That's one of them.>

-He spins an illusion around himself, reappearing as a shiny La Reine Furfrou. Jessica gives him a bewildered look before entering the resturant.-

Jolteon: <Hey, we both got Torchic legs. Wanna go over to the Daycare?>

-He looks at the Manectric he's by seductively.-

Manectric: <Eh, why not?>

-Achille sighs.-

Achille: <That's definitely him...>

-Nix just giggles-

Kai: Hm... Well, it's something, at least. At the very least, Foul Play is always a good thing to try given the chance. Even if it doesn't turn out to work effectively, it's information for the next encounter. The issue is having such little opportunity to figure out the ins and outs of its abilities... Plus, if the healing energy thing is anything to go by, it might operate under a different world's contextual laws entirely. Which complicates things. How much has been translated by coming here, and how much of its original ruleset has it maintained?

Farfetch'd DU: Peculiar. Perhaps we should investigate this further at another time, but! For now, your mission is complete!

-The speaker in the Farfetch'd's beak plays:-

Igneous: <Do I really need to sit through this crap?>

Channah: -her voice is a bit rough, as though she hasn't spoken in a while- Dunno. -beat- So. I feel like This Is Gonna Suck. But. Whatever.

I should warn you, it won't be some panacea for your issues, and fucking around with your inner aspects is bad because just taking your aspects can leave you dangerously out of whack. I have... experience where that's concerned. When we do it you may appear with me, or you'll split into your constituent aspects because some people don't appear as a "Prime" form in their mindscapes. Either way, I or both of us will be seeing things you might not want shown. Also, we'll be in a trance for the duration.

You still wanna do this?

Brie: Foul Play could work, but not that many Pokemon actually get it, and none of mine do. I'd have to bring you or Ever or someone along.

-she frowns-

That's pretty much the issue, yeah. I've been trying to look up the name it gave me, and some relevant concepts, but it doesn't give me anything. I'm guessing if it is from some story, it's like, a really unpopular niche one or whatever.

-Semigloss lights up-
